I usually wear a 7.5-8, and the 8 fits me just slightly large, better for fall and winter layering. The 7.5 would be too small. The quality is beautiful, and better than I expected. These boots are very well made, and the metal zipper is strong and smooth. I bought these for their simple style, water resistant leather, and lug sole for wearing in winter conditions in Colorado. The foot bed feels a bit flat and they're not super warm, but there is just enough extra room for cushy socks and tucking jeans into the boots. They are perhaps not the most comfortable boots in the catalog. I had contemplated the Naturalizer Jackie boots for this reason. While I may still get the Jackies in another color, I think these Aldos are great and well worth the price. Definitely no regrets.

These are great boots. I ordered 3 different pairs and this is the pair I kept. Color is nice, leather a lot softer than expected, and WATERPROOF ! A little big; I normally wear an 8 and if I were to order again I’d go a half size down. Super comfortable!

This is an update of a prior review I left for these boots. I previously stated that, although I usually wear a size 7.5 (38), the size 8 (38.5) were the proper fit. After wearing the boots for a little bit longer around the house, the size 8 (38.5) were, in fact, too large. I exchanged them for the 7.5 (38), and I am glad that I did. The length now is correct, and the circumference (previously too loose with the larger size) now fits perfectly with either fitted jeans or tights. My leg circumference is 14". I do not have wide feet, and this smaller size is tight in the width. I am sure that they will loosen and conform over time. The larger size fit great in the width, but, after breaking them in, this would have made them too loose. Still, there is no foot bed support or cushiness to speak of. With the smaller size, I no longer have room for a cushioned insert. Perhaps I will after breaking them in. Overall, I have made the correct choice. The leather is waterproof, the zipper is high quality, and the boots are very well made. The style is on the easy side of classy, and the grippy soles will be great in Colorado weather. I am very happy with my exchange, and I am very happy with these boots. I now have them in both black and cognac.

Love this boot with zipper on the outside. This boot pushes on my pinky toe but I’m hoping these boots break in soon.

These are fantastic boots. I soo wanted to keep them. The quality exceptional. Alas, I need a dressier boot to wear with dresses and I hadn't realized these are more of chunky boot great for wet days.

This boot is not as luxurious as my Pikolinos boot. Getting my foot into the boot requires tugging and once I’m in, I have to walk around to warm up the leather. I’ve worn them out about 3x now and after 6 hrs my feet feel tired in them. They fit a bit narrower than I like on my one foot, but as I get older my feet are spreading a bit. The zipper on the left boot doesn’t operate smoothly, although it didn’t give me any trouble the first few times. Now it does. I wore these boots around the house for a few days, just to be sure I wanted to keep them. I have narrow calves and they fit great. I love the soles because they have some traction and slight cushion although the inner soles are not very supportive. Would I buy these again? No, but I know I’d probably have to pay $50-$100 more to get a more comfortable boot. That’s the way it works.

Oh I am so sad to have to return this boot! The leather is gorgeous, and the funky lug sole is urban and cool. The zipper is chic and on the outside of the leg instead of the usual inside. The style is exactly what I have been searching for-but the sizing was just a bit off for me. The arch hit me in the wrong spot, and the circumference of the calf was too wide. Next time!

I was so glad the boot shaft on these was narrow since most boots gape around my calves. but unfortunately the toe box was much too narrow. Think these would be good if you have narrow feet and calves.

These had the usual length of a 9, but not the width! I love the style and am sad to have to return them :(
