Vaya mids are so comfortable, I wore them right out of the box after replacing the inner sole, which I always do. Really like the soft yet sufficient ankle support & the light weight & breathability of the boot; the grip worked well on slick rocks and the blue/black color pops. Had to exchange for a half size smaller than I usually wear on my hiking boots. The laces are a little too thin and way long for my preference but not a deal breaker. Overall I love the features of this boot. Great for most hiking but not designed to be a backpacking boot due to lighter weight feature construction. The Vaya has become my everyday kick around footwear. Super pleased with my purchase.

My husband bought these for Mother's Day. I wore them around the house a bit and they seemed very comfortable. I wore them on a rainy day for about a 2 hour hike and they were awesome! Kept my feet dry and were very comfortable.

Right out of the box these are super cozy and cute! They fit and feel like a sneaker but with ankle support and toe box protection which is key for long miles in the mountains. I took these out for a 3 mile local hike since there is still snow in the mountains and I noticed that the traction even in the mud was stellar. My feet felt warm and protected yet not overheating which is surprising for a waterproof boot. I was moving at a pretty fast pace so much so I was actually able to jog in these a bit. I will say that I am typically a 7.5 and the 7s were actually perfect. I felt like the wider toe box on this boot helped with that fit. I am super pumped to take these out on longer miles in the mountains this spring/summer!

This is by far the best shoe I've used for hiking. I come up against a lot of terrain in the Rocky Mountains and these shoes do not disappoint on features. The last I did had loose gravel, packed snow, slushy snow, and slick ice. While I needed traction for the ice, the rest of the terrain was a breeze for this shoe. The Gore-Tex lining is incredibly effective at blocking out water and cold temps you may encounter on the trail. The hike I did was at 10,000 feet, and the shoe performs really well with a thin layer of wool socks. The ankle support is super solid- I have weak and skinny ankles, so this is a must on the trail. I also require a wide toe-box. This shoe provides the right amount of comfort for narrow feet and a wide toe-box. I wear a 10 and this shoe is true to size. Last, but certainly no least, the fact that these are so light, it feels effortless to walk. It was a comfortable hike at 8 miles, I'm itching to get out for longer hikes in the coming months.

The Vaya Mid GTX boot has been an awesome addition to my outdoor footwear. It is lightweight without giving up stability. I also love the extra room in the toebox, compared to my Ultra Mid GTX boot, which should be helpful for the longer days or backpack trips on trail. This is a versatile shoe that I wear for many different activities. Sometimes walking the dog, sometimes on the trail, and even sometimes just for day to day wear. Not to mention the fun green color! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a lightweight, waterproof and do-all boot!

I was pretty blown away when I put these on. I'm used to boots feeling really rigid or restricting but these felt like a Cinderella slipper. I kept thinking, "my foot feels safe in these." No weird rubbing or bunion issues for my feet.

I typically hike in trail runners, but for winter hiking these are perfect! They are waterproof up to the top of the boot which is perfect for wet, cold trails and crossing creeks. I have also started using them with my snowshoes! They remain very comfortable even under the snowshoe straps, with no major areas of wear. There was little to no break in time, and I love how light they are for a hiking boot! I have a wider forefoot and wear a size 7. I am able to wear a size 7 in these boots, without any rubbing on my toes. I really like the arch support and the cushioning around the ankle. Quickly became a staple in my shoe collection!

With all the rain we've had lately these have been great. Literally walked through streams and the water runs off the boots. They are also lightweight and super comfy.

I am thrilled with these boots. For starters, they are so lightweight. I was shocked when I pulled them out of the box to feel how light they were. Then, lets talk about how comfortable they are. The don't fit like a tough boot, but are their durability is built like a boot. My first hike - I put them to the test. I went on a 5 mile hike that involved stream crossings, a bunch of elevation changes, and loose gravel sections. They passed this test with flying colors!

First impression, I absolutely love the hombre, I have the green ones, they're a great looking boot. I love how lightweight these are and the toe box is a little wider than my previous pair of Salomons. I love the mids, I'm prone to rolling my ankle and I love the support these offer. The traction on the trail is amazing and Goretex is a must have the the Pacific Northwest!

I was so happy to find how little breaking in these boots needed to feel comfortable. They felt like they were made for my feet! Also the gore-tex makes these boots great for all seasons. I am super impressed by the overall quality! Side note: I got the green and I love the color!

I have been a huge Salomon hiking shoe fan for awhile. I am so glad they came out with this shoe!! I love the traction it provides, and how comfortable they are. I've worn them a handful of times hiking, and have no problems with rubbing and causing blisters. The grip on the bottom of the shoe has helped tremendously while hiking. I would highly recommend this product because the fit is amazing, they are lightweight and I love the colors!! :)

I've taken these boots on the trails of Ogden and Moab and they really are a gem! I love the unique ombre look, so cute yet classy. I was amazed at how lightweight they are. They feel so good, both stable and nimble. The grip was great and I really enjoy the roomy toe box. I can't wait for many more adventures with these boots. My new fave!

Bought approx 2months ago. So comfy. Really happy with them. But am afraid I feel the wetness seeping through. Perhaps I didn't read right. Regards the waterproof. So have to keep them for dry days. Which is disappointing

Really happy with these boots. Comfortable. Easy to walk and cycle in. There is a minor occasional issue with boot lace hooks able to get caught in each other.

I like them, but I don't love them. Good support for the ankles and lots of room for my feet. They don't seem to "grip" the trail as well as I need and the laces are ridiculously long. Sounds like stupid complaint, but I jump on a bike after a hike and I'm afraid the laces will catch.

Love these boots! I would recommend them for shorter hikes and also where one does not need tons of grip. I completed a hike up to Lake Solitude in the Tetons in these. Difficult to go through the snow fields at the top. It was pretty slippery. My feet stayed absolutely dry with no issues. My feet started to ache about half way through. Not much of an arch inside. These boots are super light and one can really tighten them if needed. I normally wear these to the dog park everyday. No blisters ever and super cute!

I have worn my boots twice. They are very light and offer great ankle support. I love their traction and design. However, I'm having some challenges to remove mud and dust stains after use... I've used water and gentle hand soap. The photos show how the boots look after cleaning... I welcome some advice. Thanks!

I was only able to put in a mile on these today due to complications I'm having with my knee. But I was eager to try them out. Observations: For me, they fit true to size. I ordered a nine wide. I need a wider toebox and these are quite comfortable. I have a high instep, and there wasn't a tremendous amount of arch support so, I will probably have to get some sort of insole. I don't normally wear high-rise or mid rise shoes. I always wear low because high tops tend to rub my ankle bone. But in an effort to support my hips and knees I opted for ankle support. These were very comfortable, and roomy at the top. They did not rub my ankles at all. So far my only real issue is the length of the shoelaces. They are entirely too long. I often tie my shoelaces in double knots just to make sure they don't come and done and even doing that they were still too long. I nearly tripped myself because the long loops on one shoe actually got caught on the hook on the other shoe! All L although I am so far very pleased. Once I get arch support insoles and shorter shoelaces, I should be good to go

I broke these boots in on a 6 mile hike. Comfortable the whole time, and super lightweight while still offering medium structure. They tread is slick in water and deep mud, but otherwise great in dry conditions including gravel and rocks.

The Vaya GTX is a great boot- lightweight and sturdy with no break in period. For a mid boot they're not clunky or heavy which is a huge plus. You can lace them up and head out without worrying about getting hotspots or blisters. I've been using these daily and they've been an awesome addition to my gear collection. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a boot they can wear comfortably daily!

I went through an extensive try on session to find the perfect fit for waterproof hiking boots to take on a couple 4 day backpacking trips in Iceland. Overall, I wore these through almost 90 miles and they held up ~mostly okay. I will say the color and material choice was not good on these, as they remained a caked muddy brown for most of the trip after tackling a few rainy / snowy / muddy days on the trail. Waterproofing was also ~okay. Many stream crossings and downpours occurred and I recognize my feet would be substantially wetter in other boot alternatives, but they also didn't stay dry in the continuous sog. Ankle support and grip were generally good for the trails needed. Though I will also comment that the laces are incredibly long on these -- cut or wrap if you desire.
