Just bought these and did a 9km hike with 450 meters of elevation gain on a 25c sunny day to break them in. No blisters or hot spots at the end of the day. They weren't overly warm I would say they are on par with any other GTX boot or shoe I've worn from multiple manufactures. Bought these because they fit me better than the X ultra mid's the regular was a touch tight in the toe box and the wide version was too wide, also these I feel will be a bit more durable than the X ultra's. The only thing I would really change is making the sole at the heel wider for stability and a touch more cushion in the sole. Overall it's a nice looking lightweight and hopefully durable boot which time will tell.

I RATED 3 STARS. Bought this last month and immediately used it hiking in snow and river. Pros: water bead off, waterproof, durable, comfortable, feels warm inside. Cons: first picture attached( I circled the part) the front part of the shoes no longer beads off the water and stays wet (although still dry inside) is this a concern that will make this shoes no longer waterproof?

Solid boot, not great for my foot type. I'd recommend spending the extra money on hiking boots

I own many other pairs of salomon products, these are my least favorite. No comfort at all. I have tried to wear them and can't.

The tongueis made up of two fabrics sewed together creating a hard bulge at the edges. This seam pushes/rubs uncomfortably against the ankle when laced up. Unfortunately, this design flaw makes them unwearable for any duration of time... The insole is thin and provides no support or added comfort. The overall quality is low and the shoes are not symmetrical around the toe. Yes, I am now being picky but these are not cheap hiking boots... The sizing charts found on the website is inaccurate and the shoe runs a half size large. My son, who wears the same size shoe as me, tried them on and had the same experience. I would NOT recommend buying these boots...

I have many Salomon boots and these are the only ones with a wide heel and narrow toe. If that's what you are looking for you are in luck but dont' expect the usual Salomon fit. IN addition there is no lacing across the ankle which might have helped to snug it down. I was actually looking for a slightly longer boot to accommodate new orthotics and this one is actually shorter than the GTX4 in a 1/2 size smaller. Its narrower in the toes as well.

Not for summer. They are not breathable. My feet can't breathe and my shoes are starting to stink.
