Covered around 50 miles on these now, mostly hiking in the Adirondacks, mud, wet rocks etc. They are very comfy and provided good grip.

These are the best shoes I was a big fan of Reebok but now that I own a pair of these, north face will be my new shoe company to go to. Even through the prices are high but great Quality

I wear them on daily walks/hikes and they broke in right away. The shoe are are very light weight and breathable. I would advise to only wear them in more dry conditions because the treads work best on dry surfaces rather than wet.

So I am a teacher and on my feet all day. When it comes to shoes I don't compromise. I bought these because of the waterproof feature. I travel classroom to classroom which means outside. When it rains I have to have shoes that my feet stay dry in. I look to North face to provide me quality gear to accomplish this. Now my spouse wants a pair.

Fit is true to size. I will say, the shoe is a little firm and rigid at first, in every respect, and will take some time to break in, but no rub spots and quite comfortable despite firmness. Still very new, only been wearing them on walks for past couple weeks but seems well made.

Love the shoes. They do have a break in time until they really get comfortable. Gove them some time, it will be worth it. The bottoms do wear faster than normal. Hopeful TNF reads his and makes changes to the next rendition. Great for every day use, hiking, you name it. Great all around shoe.

Shoes were perfect for the rain forest hike! But word to the wise. They are a little stiff at first and need to be "Broken in" in order to get the full comfort level.

the shoes are light and tough. meant for rugged use. keep in mind though that they are not very breathable so the feet can begin to feel a bit too warm. but if you are in cold weather that can be a good thing!

Soles already show substantial wear after minimal use. Very comfortable but at this rate they’ll be worn out in six months. Disappointing.

Shoes look good. Fit good. Not 100 percent waterproof. Socks get damp.

If you want shoes with water resistance, do not buy these. Futurelight is far inferior to Gore-Tex and North Face made a huge mistake switching to their own proprietary "waterproof" material. I have an older pair of North Face shoes that are Gore-Tex and they are awesome, actually waterproof. Very sad that North Face doesn't use Gore-Tex in their shoes anymore. Guess I'm going to have to buy a different brand in the future

These shoes are well made and waterproof but are very stiff. Initially I thought they would break in, but it's been 10 months and they are still very stiff.
Strong chemical odor was noticed when I got them home. Again, I thought this would go away with use. It has not.

I bought these shoes late November, needing a new pair of approach shoes that were also waterproof. They were very comfortable right out of the box, and continue to be so, but after 6 months, they are no longer waterproof. I can't walk in wet grass, let alone a shallow stream, without my feet getting soaked.
Very disappointed

After four months they are falling apart. I only wore them two or three times a week. The various layers on the outside are starting to peal off. Very disappointing.

I've probably hiked in them for 30 miles already, thinking I'd have to break them in but they didn't get any more comfortable. Walking, they just rub against and pinch my little toe and foot. After hiking, my feet are sore from them just not being too flexible. They just don't and crease correctly when walking. Waterproofing is nice cause I can just walk across and submerge my foot but I think I'd try a non-waterproof shoe.

These boots slip on wet surfaces. Made a hike to the hills on wet weather - grip was good on the gravelly terrain, but boots didn't grip at all on the wet wood and wet stone. I made this hike in the forested hills, and I had to be very careful to didn't stand on the roots and wet rocks - I almost felt down several time.
Concerning waterproofs of membrane and cushioning power - for this I had a very positive impressions. But sole spoils the total impression of the shoes.
It's ok for a park walking or outdoor in a good weather.
But I totally don't recommend them for a more or less serious hike on the rainy days. Very disappointed.
P.S. My wife bought a pair of Ultra Fastpack IV from North Face with Vibram megagrip sole. She have much positive impressions. She stood reliably, where It was slippery to me.

I love thenorthface shoes and boots but this futurelight hiking shoe in terrible. The material bends and rubs on the top of my foot. So uncomfortable. Worst pair of shoes that I have owned. Futurelight is a terrible material in shoes or boots. Buyer beware. I can't even wear these shoes anymore. Sitting in my closet collecting dust. Big waste of money!!!!!! 1 star is too much for this shoe.
