The Altalight Mid Waterproof is a great shoe/boot!
I operate an exterior cleaning business in Western North Carolina. My feet stay dry while pressure washing all day. They're light weight and have great grip on rugged terrain. I highly recommend!

I walk/hike about 25 miles a week. Lot's of hills, but nothing radical. My special made orthotics fit perfectly into the boot. Thus far, these are making me a happy hiker.

Hands down the best pair of boots I've worn. I've primarily purchased Danner and under armour boots. First thing you notice is how light these puppies are out of the box. Once you slip them on, they mold to your feet like a glove (a grade-A leather glove cured with love and tenderness over years). To put it frank, these boots are comfortable, breathable, and athletic-feeling (they remind me of a high end basketball shoe with more tread and ankle support). I'm excited about the prospect of wearing these in the backcountry.

I'm a senior with foot problems but I'm on my feet all day, my wife & I own a farm animal sanctuary. I love that they are Vegan! I ordered memory foam insoles as the ones provided aren't much more than pressed cardboard. So far I love them!

Comfort: I've only had these shoes for a couple of days now, but I'm already extremely impressed with just how comfortable they are! I would almost consider wearing these on a daily basis rather than just for hiking, which is what I bought them for in the first place.
Stability: I've done a small amount of hiking with them, and the extra height around the ankle definitely helps with stability. Because these boots are so lightweight, I expected a compromise in ankle stability, but so far so good.
Durability: I cannot attest to the durability of these quite yet, but fingers crossed for longevity. The material seems like it will hold up with a little bit of punishment, but only time will tell.
Waterproof: Admittedly I've only done some splashing in shallow puddles, but they're absolutely waterproof.
Verdict: It's still too early to give a final verdict, but I'm very optimistic! If they can hold up in the long run, this will be my go-to shoe for hikes!

These boots are so awesome! Orange-who does that except Merrell. They fit like a glove but I'm afraid to wear them because they look incredible. So far all I have done is take pictures of them and share with my family and friends. Their all jealous. Way to go Merrell. I have 2 brown leather hikers, a purple, a blue and now orange (all Merrell obviously). Can't wait for what comes next.

The build quality on this boot is exceptional. They're so light that you hardly remember you're wearing hiking boots.

This is a great product and the fit is excellent. Very lightweight and I love the color. Merrell has done good with this one so I went ahead and ordered another Merrell shoe.

Right out of the box they are pretty comfortable. A little stiff but that's to be expected for a hiking boot. We will see how well they keep out the water. They could have a bit more art support but it's still pretty good.

Fits perfect, I got a pair for my bf and myself. The design is really unique and the tread is thick! Great for hiking and gripping, awesome when the ground was wet.

Love the shoes but FYI the internet says to size down 2 sizes from women's to men's. I did so and the shoe was smaller than expected. So if you wear women's sizes usually and you want to order these, size down only 1.5 sizes

I work as a trail guide in the Alps, and hike all day everyday during the summer. I wear only Merrells, and have tried a lot of models through the years. This is the most comfortable model I've used in at least 5 years. My only hang up is that M Select DRY BARRIER is not as good as Gore-Tex, and Merrell mountain-grade Quantum Grip is not as good as Vibram (I want to believe they are, but I've used them enough to know they aren't). I usually won't buy a shoe without Gore-Tex and Vibram, but made an exception for such a comfortable boot. If they come out with a Gore-Tex/Vibram version, I'll be the first in line!

When I first purchased these shoes, they did fit a little tight. In time they loosened up. They are very comfortable. I am an avid outdoor person who needs an aggressive and waterproof shoe. I use these shoes 2-3 days a week sometimes in them 6-8 hrs. I have not had major issues with sliding on wet terrain. I have noticed that after several months the waterproofing has broken down my feet do become wet even in the morning grass. The only reason why I have not given thes a 5-star is that the soles do not last very long. I am a true Merrell shoe wearer. I use their boots as a paramedic, for dress, and for outdoors. I wish for the price that the soles lasted a little longer. I will need a new pair it seems every season.

Boots are super light, fit like they should and the tread is great. Lacing is a little funky over the tongue. Bad experience originally ordering the boots but in the long run was worth the annoyance with ordering.

I like this boot. It stood up well to Glacier National Park. I DO wish the tongue was connected higher up on the boot. There were SEVERAL times that water got up & over the tongue, and hence INTO the boot. Not really the boot's fault since the "puddle" was so deep, but that wouldn't have happened had the tongue been as high as the top of the boot. All in all, a really comfortable shoe. I typically wear 10.5 EE and I purchased the 11. It fit well.

They are better in person and they are pretty comfortable. As a veteran I was use to not so comfortable boots but these are awesome they feel good like sneakers and have great grip I will be buying the black and grey with blue ones. I will be using them to train dogs and I need excellent grip.

If you're looking for a lighter summer hiking boot with Hugh arch support, these are nice. They Are stabilizing for my knees. I'm a woman, the 8.5 men's size fit well (I am a true size 10 in women's sizes but often find some shoes fit small. These fit true to size even with hiking socks).
I have yet to do longer than a 5 mile hike with them but so far they have have been very comfy walking around the park in my neighborhood. Eager to wear them more. I still prefer my Keen's for overall comfort but they were just too hot for summer.

Nice boot. Using as my motorcycle boots so I can both ride & hike with them. Toebox area is roomier than expected, so the material wrinkles. Haven't tested them out much yet.

I was so excited to get these. I think they're so stylish and comfortable. Unfortunately after one full day of wearing them, I already have damage in the spackled gum sole from who knows what. I did only light casual walking yesterday. I guess the soles are just too soft. I really like the style, but I want them to hold up a long time to be worth the price. Pretty bummed about this.
