I have been using another camera chest pack and it has been a pain in the butt because there's not a great way to ensure the entire system stays flush to your body. With the chest rig from Mystery Ranch, I can put the camera on my chest without having to connect it to my bag using some overly complicated system. This saves me a bunch of time when transitioning in the mountain (ski-touring specifically) because I don't need to remove the chest rig and bag AND my chest rig isn't slapping me in the face when I'm riding or adjusting boots / bindings. It also does the job well in terms of keeping the camera out of the elements. My only gripe is that I can't really use a lens that's bigger than 24-70 (I love shooting with my 70-200 skiing) but it just means I have to be a little more creative with my shooting. I do love the mechanism to keep the camera secured in place when in the bag, but it can kind of be a pain when you're running and gunning.

Comfortable snug fit for getting into rigorous activity with solid, tough construction you'd expect from Mystery Ranch. Have a Nikon Z 7II with a 24-70mm lens that fits no problem.

Another high quality product, as expected from Mystery Ranch. I use this case for my Nikon z50 mirrorless setup and it holds my two kit lenses, charger, lense cleaning supplies etc.. The case has a protective shell to keep your camera equipment safe.

It was a tough decision to purchase this carrier, due to feedback in other reviews. I was really unsure about whether or not it would be proper fit for my camera/lenses, I had actually refrained from ordering for quite sometime. I finally decided to to a chance, boy am I glad I did because it's perfect for my equipment (Canon, EOS REBEL17 with a 75-300
Telephoto), about 7 3/4 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide at the back of my camera. I had a little slack regarding depth and width in the carrier. I'm looking forward to testing some more in the field. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because I feel the harness could use some improvements for comfort and the bag could of had a little more padding top and bottom inside the bag to protect the equipment. All things said I'm still very pleased to add to my equipment and would recommend to friend.

As a Big-time fan of Mystery Ranch and Photography, I had high hopes for this chest rig, and unfortunately, I was let down. The main pocket does fit my NIKON D750 with a 24-70mm lens comfortably, so the description was not lying there.
My main gripe is that the tolerances within is quite tight and makes it difficult to take out. In scenarios where I need to take it out in a pinch, it's always a hassle to take out, and that it tends to change the mode dial as I'm taking it out which ruins the shooting experience.
The pouches on the rig also seems to be quite useless as there's not much room to be able to store anything. The only things that seem feasible to put in the pockets are SD cards (or any sort of storage media) and filters.
The outer elasticated-pocket is also really useless as it is insanely tight that you really can't fit anything.
The harness itself does not sit comfortably on my body. The harness makes the bag itself sit really high up on my chest, and if I were to lower it, it'd be insanely loose on me. Ontop of the, the bottom elastic is already frayed on my first use! It seems like it was manufactured that way and seems to have been missed on QC
In summary, I really wanted to love this chest rig, but all of it's flaws turned me away from wanting to like this.

This pack is marketed as a “DSLR” pouch, and says “Made to fit all but the oddest camera bodies with a 24-70mm lens attached.” Nikons are very standard DSLRs, and mine doesn’t fit with that exact 24-70mm lens. The lid won’t close. Very disappointing for something I paid $100 for and had shipped to me. I even looked at the precise measurements and set them against my camera setup, but the measurements are off—smaller than the actual pack.
