This is my favorite bag ever! Years ago I purchased this same bag in ‘saddle’ and I’ve used it almost nonstop. It has the perfect amount of space and is light especially for the size. I find the handles the perfect drop link to wear over my shoulder hugged up against my body. I’ve been meaning to get a black one to have the perfect combo for different seasons, although either can be carried anytime. The quality of the bag is excellent as well and mine has traveled many miles! like most all black bags it can be hard to see in the bottom of the black one. I purchased an insert organizer, light in color, that does the trick! Can’t go wrong with this bag!

I love this bag. The size is perfect but the straps are too short to be a shoulder bag.

Ugh - I love this bag. I bought the English Saddle as well and I just received my True Black 2 today and the leather is perfect smoosh. No weird flaws either. I think I got super lucky. I am not quite sure why some people have said the straps are not long enough to be a shoulder bag? I think they are? I have no issues and I'm not skinny either but maybe it has to do with your overall shoulder width ? I'm not sure. All I know is that I'm THRILLED with this bag. It's the perfect size and it's simplicity is amazing.

I am in love with this bag! The quality is excellent, leather is buttery soft and "English Saddle" color is perfect. I can't wait for Christmas to ask my husband to get me this bag in black!

This bag is my safe haven, it’s big enough to carry more than I should ever need and classy enough to look like I spent way more on it than I actually did. The leather is sturdy, and soft; overall I am happy with this purchase.

Really beautiful bag. Roomy and very soft leather. My daughter uses it as a very stylish diaper bag! It will transition well to everyday use once not needed for the baby.

Perfect bag for my daily work use. Fits my madewell wallet and my madewell cardholder along with my binder and laptop. Plus lunch items that I may carry including my blendjet 2.

This is a great bag from Madewell. Check out the options; it comes in a few different sizes and colors. I favor the burgundy and larger size, personally. But “English Saddle” is also a beautiful color for the leather. My one gripe about this bag is that it has an open top and only has one small zipper compartment inside (for things like keys or pens, etc.). You get more zippers / compartments in the medium size, but it is smaller. It’s a trade off. I went for the larger size. But I could easily imagine opting for the closeable top.

The bag really wore down quickly… not the quality I was looking for! There are white spots at the bottom where the leather is wearing away.
