I have had 4 pair of the previous version of the Siren strap sandal, which I think is more attractive. I decided to try this new version, but the design is stupid. The straps look like they are adjustable, but they really aren't. The ankle strap doesn't even open all the way, making it more difficult to get your foot into it. This new version is a big FAIL.

As other reviewers have noted, the straps on these sandals are not adjustable despite appearance to the contrary. However, they seem like they would be very comfortable if they happen to fit your foot exactly. In my case, they were just a bit too loose for my size 11M foot. For walking outdoors over uneven terrain I need something that fits perfectly and can be adjusted throughout the day. I'm returning them for something with adjustable straps.

I could not tighten the Velcro straps. It gathered underneath the star at the ankle and the foot straps could not be tightened. The Velcro is placed poorly. I ordered a size smaller to see if that helped.

THERE'S NO WAY TO PULL ANY STRAP ANYWHERE TO MAKE THIS VERY WIDE SANDAL STAY ON MY FEET! THE SIZE 9 IS CORRECT BUT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THUNDEROUS WEIGHT AND WATER ON MY ANKLES FOR THIS TO STAY ON MY FOOT!

Not nearly as comfortable as my Merrell Moab shoes. Better than barefoot, but not by much. :-(

The Siren 2 Strap sandal runs true to size in length, but runs very wide for a medium fit shoe. I read the reviews and thought the adjustable Siren 2 Strap sandal would fit my slightly-wider-than-medium foot. As other reviewers noted, it can only be adjusted to be slightly wider, not snugger, and only the ankle strap can be tightened - approximately 1/2". I can easily fit 2 fingers underneath the toe strap, 3 fingers underneath the mid-foot strap, and my whole hand underneath the ankle strap (2 fingers when fully tightened). The strap behind the heel cannot be adjusted at all, and hovers loosely behind my foot. Sizing down would not help, as my toes would then hang off the front of the footbed.

I bought these after my old sirens wore out. I liked the sirens because of the comfy foam footbed and the traction on these sandals. The old sirens had a better velcro and strap system where you could tighten points around the ankle and lower part of the foot. This version just has 3 velcro attachments but not enough room to fully tighten them. Shoe felt loose on my foot the whole time wearing them. Bring back the old design!

I bought these so that I could retire my very old Merrell sandals much like these. However there is a difference. The velcro straps are not really adjustable because of the fixed strap underneath them. That's very limiting. I usually wear a medium in every shoe I buy. These are too wide. The footbed is perfect for length but a little sideways adjustment would be nice. They do flop around. Sadly, and I mean it, I'll be keeping them. I desperately need a good water sandal for kayaking and this is the best on the market. That's not saying a whole lot though.

I LOVE Merrell shoes. They are always comfortable and lightweight. I've never had a pair fit improperly, until these. The Women's Siren Strap Q2 Sandal's (last year's model?) were my absolute favorite hiking sandals! I was hoping to get a backup pair for if/when they finally fail, but these were the closest I could find. These however, are not sandals built for hiking. The adjustable straps are barely adjustable and there's no way to adjust them without the fabric underneath buckling. Even at the tightest adjustment (which is minimal) these won't stay on my feet and look ridiculous due to the fabric buckling. Not sure how I'd be able to hike in them at all. Bring back the old Siren's, please! I would love to have another comfortable and functional pair of hiking sandals, but these seem to have a major design flaw.

The velcro doesn't adjust, it's just ornamental! I have a bunion and wide feet so I thought these would be adjustable since they have velcro: the description says they are adjustable also! Deceived.

I have had FOUR pair of the previous version of this sandal, the Siren Strap Q2, which I love. I have used those sandals for some long distance hikes, and they fit my feet very well, and are fairly adjustable. Unfortunately, this new design is NOT adjustable, and the ankle strap doesn't open all the way making it difficult to put the sandal on. This new version is a big FAIL

on line sales person assured me these ran small and would fit half size smaller, not to worry because straps are adjustable

The velcro straps are NOT adjustable. Product is completely mis-represented. Only the ankle strap can be tightened about half an inch, but that leaves a bulge against your foot. I am 11 narrow, so bought this because it said the straps were adjustable. They are NOT. If you have a wider foot, this might work for you.

My current Merrells have straps that are adjustable, which makes for a perfect fit. The straps on the Siren 2 aren't really adjustable, so sandals are too wide. I would like to return them, but package arrived with no return information, so I still have them. I would love it if my current style were available, but assume it must be discontinued. If I can return the Siren 2s I would happily try another style.

They look good, and they're comfortable. But their "hook and loop closure system for quick adjustability"? What? The straps underneath the hook-and-loop parts don't change. At all. Can't enlarge. Can't tighten. Well, theoretically you could tighten, but then the underneath strap is folded up against your foot while you wear the shoes. In addition -- even though they fit just fine once they're on -- you have to force your feet into them. Is there a magic word -- "open sesame!" -- they forgot to tell me about? Sad I have to return them.

The straps on these sandals can't be tigtened sufficiently, leaving them too loose to keep on my feet. Not the same quality that I've come to expect from Merrell.

I ORDERED THESE BECAUSE THEY LOOKED SIMILAR TO A PAIR OF MERRELL SHOES THAT I PURCHASED SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND DEARLY LOVED. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY ARE VERY POOR IN COMPARISON TO THE PREVIOUS PAIR. SOLES LACK THE CUSHIONING OF MY PREVIOUS PAIR, STRAPS ARE CHEAPER, OVERALL QUALITY IS WAY BELOW WHAT I EXPECTED. I KEPT THEM AND WILL WEAR THEM OCCASIONALLY BUT NOT FOR MY DAILY WALKS WHICH IS WHAT I HAD IN MIND WHEN I ORDERED THEM.

I really liked the look of these sandals. They have 3 velcro straps that should be adjustable for each person. The only strap that actually slides is the ankle strap. The rest are just for show. I could not get these sandals to feel comfortable as they were too big and the straps were not adjustable.
