I replaced the insole with a runners insole for comfort, own every color this shoe comes in and have worn the soles off at least 3 pair. I walk outdoors on concrete, about 5 miles a day. These and Moab Speed are my walking shoes.

shoes fit great and wear great.

I was surprised about how well they fit. The best part is that I wore them on a trip, in the heat, with no socks and they felt transparent--no rubbing or discomfort. I had to run through an airport and that was fine too. Very pleased. The brand has worked for me before, not surprised it's good for me now too. I also like the design, it's subtle and, for a sports shoe, looks elegant to my eye.

Sole feels more like a regular shoe than an athletic shoe. It's hard; not soft and more pliable like a sneaker/athletic shoe.

This is my fourth pair. I love these shoes. The arch support is not as much as I would like, but the inserts are removable and can be replaced with a better insole.

Like another reviewer stated, I also have a wide instep and need walking shoes that will be comfortable for several miles of walking. I have hallux rigidus in my right big toe and painful heels as well. When I took these out of the box, I thought for sure they would be way too narrow, as they look much narrower than my current pair of shoes. I put them on and walk around the house and worked in them for the afternoon and... SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! Not only did they feel great and very supportive, they looked great as well! I didn't look like I had huge wide feet (I'm a 10W) like I do ion my other shoes! They are very lightweight but very comfortable and supportive. My toe felt better in these than they did in my other shoes after comparing the two side by side. A winner all around! I also own the Jungle Moc shoes and they are my #1 shoes for work and for casual dress as well. I love Merrell!

Wore these right out of the box hiking in Tennessee. I wear an 8.5W for a high instep in dress shoes usually, but ordered a regular width 9, as the rest of my foot is not wide. Wore them with some good socks and they were perfect! Do not expect a full cushion feel, like running shoes, but these were great for walking on rocks, uneven terrain, etc.
