Albeit very comfortable and a quality make, these were NOT waterproof! 5 mins of walking through Long, damp grass and my feet were wet. Would purchase again, but with the knowledge they aren't really proof.

Great boots but I usually wear 8, and 8.5 in sneakers. The 8.5s in these were slightly short. My toe hit front in thinnish merino Sox. I don't want to try 9 because I'm sure would be too wide. I love Merrell Ontario in 8 with thinnish sock but would get bigger in those if I wore med to thick sock. But I love the 8s.

I have had many pairs of Merrell sneakers and always wear a size 8. These are just too small which is a big disappointment. I really wanted to like them. Unfortunately, there are size 8.5 available, so they are going back.

I love these boots. They are super comfy! I put them on and wore them for a 5km walk the first day I had them. No issues in terms of sore spots re rub marks etc. I purchased the grey which come with the aqua laces and a more neutral set as well. I love the aqua so will keep using them. I would give the boots a full 5 stars, but I do find the insoles are really not great for the whole foot. They are built for the heel, but the rest is quite thin and has no support for the ball of the foot. If the boots came with a insole that had better cushioning for the whole foot it would be perfect. Not worth losing a whole star but I can't reduce by a 1/2. The 9.5 fit perfectly, I suggest first time buyers measure your foot before purchasing to be sure. Which I did, otherwise I would have ordered my usual 9 and they would have not fit as nice. I may be a new, but soon to be, regular customer.

I am a hard core Merrell devotee. These boots so far are working well (about 1 month). My only complaint is they rubbed on the back of my ankle. It seems to be getting better.

Just received these mid hikers today. Promptly put them on and went for an hour walk on wet snowy streets. The boots are light and comfortable. There's plenty of support around the ankle, and the middle of the foot. The toe box is nice, not tight and not loose. The insole is nicely cushioned. I had no hot spots. The size was true for me with a regular sock. Walking on the street was like walking with a good pair of hiking/walking running shoes. My 1st pair of Merrells and so far I'm happy with my purchase.

These boots are great. When I first put them on, I thought they were too big. Very roomy in the toe. But on a long hike, it’s great for swollen feet. I really like them. I also love the extra shoe strings!

Comfortable out of the box, not great arch support, but feel good. Not stiff like some mid hiking boots.

These felt a little small, as if my foot was sliding to the top. They were also too wide.

I really wanted to like these boots, but the right one hurt the inside of my ankle at the bone. Maybe it was just a case of a bad boot in the pair, but I had to send them back. If both feet had been happy I certainly would have kept them. Merrells are usually good for me.

I wanted to love this boot, but the right boot dug into my ankle bone (left side of the foot) and the toe box was not roomy while the rear (heel) area had more room than necessary so slipped a bit. They may work for you, but sadly these are not for me (size 8.5 M, which is my norm)

Lightweight and comfortable right out of the box, and perfect fit - as Merrell's usually are. Unfortunately, these do not have a heel loop to help pull them on. Or waterproof toe guard. (I'm now wishing I had bought the women's Moab, which has these features - for more $$.) And after a couple of walks, a bulky seam around the second lace hook on one boot was digging into my ankle. Hoping this will work itself out over time. At the moment I have to tie the top of the boot very loosely to avoid this irritation. But overall, a nice light hiker. Probably a bit too light for a serious long hiker.

I have the Siren Edge 3 in a 7.5, ordered these in an 8 & they are still too small. The 8.5 isn't available, so I'll waitlist for them.

While they are exactly what I expected design-wise, the size fell a little short. It didn't fit like the two other Merrill's I have.

I’ve worn Merrells for years, and this is the first pair that ran small. Really small! But, they are very cute. (I’m going to exchange these and buy an insert). I purchased The dark brown boots with the pink laces.

Usually love Merrill’s, unfortunately these had a strange fit. The top of the boot was touching the top of my foot and irritating it. Plenty of room width wise and toes did not reach end of boot. My feet are fairly slim and I have never had this issue before with any boots or shoes. Other than the fit issue the boots seem made about as well as a tennis shoe with moderate support. Would not use for any backpacking trips but good for urban exploration.
I'd also recommend:
Danner, Ariat, Teva

I loved the look of these shoes, but the left shoe pinched my toes. I wear size 9-9 1/2 and bought the latter. I will be returning these Merrells

These Merrell boots were not comfortable for me. But in all honesty these might be great for others but not for me.

Usually order 7.5-8 shoe. Order 8 to accommodate heavier socks. Fit was fine. Roomy toe. But seemed too high around my ankles & pretty rigid so not sure they would've been comfortable for long periods. VERY difficult to get on and off. Decided maybe I need a hiking SHOE that doesn't come up so high on my ankle. Returned these.

I have had these for only one year and i've taken very good care of them and only done light hiking but the entire stitching on one boot has come apart. These were my absolute favourite boot very comfortable and perfect size until they came apart. Very disappointed.

They are comfortable, and cute hiking boots. However, they did have cosmetic issues. The boots were a completely different color than the picture shown, I ordered the beige and they are much darker in person, even the laces are a darker pink. Which wasn't a big deal , but one of the boots Merrell labels on the tongue was really messed up, made it look like a knockoff brand purchase. Other than that fully functional. Wasn't too big of a deal to send them back.

The inner arch of the sole of the shoe is to hi. And they are very wide also. Would not recommend them. First time buying shoes online, never again.

This shoe is very uncomfortable in all aspects. Stiff and bulky. The tongue is too high and rubs against the lower leg. Returned immediately.

Unfortunately these were poorly made. Stitching was very poor with fraying threads to the area next to the tongue, and there is literally a large bulge to the right shoe demonstrating markedly poor construction. These will be returned.

These shoes are junk. They are poorly constructed out of cheap materials. They are flimsy and would not be suitable to hike in for any length of time. Didn't even try on because the lack of quality was so apparent.
