Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam Tempo

The fit was great, unfortunately after less than 3 weeks of wear, only on a treadmill inside, the entire treads on the bottom of the shoes have worn completely off. No more traction! I was only walking on the treadmill too. So so so disappointed since they fit great and we’re comfortable. I hope I just got a random poor quality tread because I normally have no issues with New Balance. Very disappointed.

DON'T BUY - they don't last long enough to be worth the money. Yes, they are comfortable and lightweight, which is what I was looking for, but after four months of wearing them 1-2 hours a day walking the dog, they are completely shot - see my pic of the soles. I've never had sneakers wear away this quickly before in my life. I won't be buying New Balance Fresh Foam again, unfortunately.

I've been wearing these shoes for 2-3 mile daily walks and they have been comfortable from the start. Lots of support and cushion which is what my foot needs.

Shoe was comfortable and true to size but having a high arch the sock type liner made it to snug across the mid foot.

The mesh on top is much thinner than I expected which I like, because they don't feel tight on the toe box. I got the wide version and it still feels fairly narrow around the arch/heel area. I like the style and love the colors (I got the indigo color) but I really wish they didn't have the "Foam fresh" working on the outside of the heels.

After trying many shoes, I am so happy I found these New Balance Fresh Foam Tempos! They are very comfortable right out of the box! I usually wear a women's size 12 with custom orthotics for pronation and ordered size 12 medium. The toe box is wide enough so my pinky toes don't feel squished and the length is long enough that my toes don't touch the top. I love that they are a neutral shoe with a 6mm differential (heel to toe drop) so that there is no pressure in the ball of my foot. Most athletic shoes have a 12mm differential which is very uncomfortable with my orthotics. The heel cup is firm and narrow so that my heels don't slip despite having orthotics inserted. I am on my feet at least 14 hours a day, and these shoes do not fatigue my legs or feet. I ordered the natural indigo and love them so much that I'm ordering a second pair in Bali blue. There are so many fun colors to choose from!

I am extremely finicky. I purchased the Fresh Foam Tempo (natural indigo/ginger pink, women’s size 8.5 wide) for daily wear. I generally take a women's 8 med or 8.5 med, and my last pair of NB were women's 8.5 wide (fit great, still going … probably about 15 years old). I’m accustomed to wearing high and low Chuck Taylors or UGG boots. The Tempo were SUPER cute, even better looking in person. Vibrant colors, with very reflective accents. The silhouette was flattering, and the shoes were sporty without being at all clunky. I was surprised by how very light they were. I have slightly wide feet. I’m not happy if I can’t spread and wiggle my toes, and the Tempo toe box was roomy enough for me to do this easily (I wore them with women's medium-weight, cotton calf socks). The mesh fabric was breathable but not flimsy (though it might not be great in the rain), and the shoes had good structure. The tongue was very plush, and the lace holes were small and did not have grommets. The laces were long, narrow and stretchy (I tucked the ends into the shoes), and because of this combination, getting into the Tempo was not a quick maneuver. But they looked great! Arch support was moderate, the heel cup was cushiony, and the sole was light and flexible. I found that, for outside wear, the sole under the toes was a bit thin and seemed more like an outdoor slipper sole. I could feel the texture of the hard ground, especially under my toes. The rest of the sole felt good, and was not problematic indoors. Overall, the Tempo were really stylish, felt very comfortable and lightweight, and seemed well made. I would still recommend the Tempo (SUPER cute). Unfortunately, the minimal padding/sole thickness under the toes made them not quite right for my daily needs (bummer). Hope this helps!

Get blisters on my heel whenever I wear this shoe for a lengthy walk. I can't feel anything obvious in the shoe. Never had this problem with any previous New Balance shoe.

I replaced my old 890’s with these because of the weird way they updated them last time. I have worn 890’s for years and did not love this new style; but for as much as I was running, they were fine. Unfortunately, they wore out crazy fast. I’m not a super runner, but run enough to have a sense of when my shoes should have no more impact absorption or tread. These did not last at all as long as they should have.

I only really wear New Balance, so I know my size. I had to double check I didn't order the wrong size, I couldn't even get my feet in them. I wear a wide, these looked super narrow.

Bought these to go on walks after work. Have had these 8 months soles are worn down to gray rubber and a home on the top. Poorly made

Sending these back due to low quality for the price. I bought a similar pair of fresh foam shoes a year ago and was pleased with them but the quality has declined. The fabric of the upper is very thin. It’s thinner than an older pair I have where my toe has made a small tear in the fabric. I never had that happen with a pair of shoes before. The part with the eyelets for laces is thin, unreinforced and cheap looking. They’re also not as wide as previous wide width new balance shoes I’ve purchased. Disappointing decline in quality for New Balance.

Comfy and REALLY bright! I always buy 1/2 size larger for NB shoes and they are perfect.

I wear a size 4 1/2 (no one makes them) and so have to buy 5's. The 5 in this style runs smaller so if you're a true 5, order 1/2 size up. I also ordered the 5 1/2 ; thinking my daily walks of several miles in the summer heat here would be more comfortable with a shoe that leaves a bit of room for foot expansion. The toe box is slightly wider in these. I'm keeping both sizes . Also, the heel is narrow and hugs the foot - no heel slippage.
