When I ordered these composite toe shoes I thought I would be getting a tougher athletic shoe. It is technically a work shoe. I have only worn them a few time but so far these shoes appear to be made very well. They are on the heavy side but work shoes tend to be that way. The no slip sole works very well on wet surfaces.

Cause of composite toe, I expected that it would be lighter shoe but not...

get the 1/2 size larger than Normal shoe size to accommodate the safety toe box. The heal padding is a bit thin but the addition of aftermarket padding helps.

I work on concrete all day, I have had a different brand of athletic style safety shoes - with an aluminum toe. I bought these specifically because of the composite toe thinking they would be lighter, however, they are surprisingly heavier. They are comfortable and seem well made, though.

Very comfortable. Fit is accurate. Wish they would last a tad longer. However, I am hard on the shoes.

I feel that this shoe needs better cushioning on the sole. I bought gel inserts to replace the inserts that came with them. The shoe is much more comfortable now. I stand on my feet most of my work day and on a concrete floor so a soft sole is vital to my feet's comfort. I have a pair of New Balance 847 shoes that I wore to work several times and I didn't have nearly as much discomfort.

Stingy 6 month warranty (1/4 star) , the inside that wore out first (1/4 star) the toe box is too small and doesn't break in (1/2) star.

I work in kitchens and stand on my feet all day. Sometimes even more than 16 hours. I do everything from ordering/recieving to making ice cream. I am for the most part very satisfied with these shoes. I personally would like something very similar but also more water resistant. I understand these were not supposed to be water resistant shoes. They are also Slip Resistant enough for kitchens as well. I didn't think this was mentioned in the shoes description enough but I'm glad they are. Thank you New Balance for continuing to develop shoes for the work place!

It has been about two weeks and I am more than satisfied. These shoes are light weight, supportive and have good traction. I have been wearing protective toe shoes for over 30 years and these are comfortable. They feel like New Balance took an athletic shoe and put a composite toe in it. The soles are solid but still flex a little. A stiffer than a running shoe. So they have a synthetic mesh covering and eyelets like a running shoe, holes punched through the material. These are not your heavy leather work boots with brass eyelets or waterproof linings. My work can get dusty at times and so I don't like the mesh covering and how the dust can settle on them. But I can use low pressure air to blow them clean. I don't think they are a year a round shoe either since I work outside and my work shoes/boot can get wet at times. And with the mesh covering I don't think they are either warm or waterproof. I have walked on wet, oily cement surfaces and they seemed secure in traction. If I needed another warm weather work shoe, I would buy these again. By the time I need to replace these I am sure they will be discontinued or upgraded. They are lightweight , if you need more protection, ie leather covering, waterproof lining, heavier covering you'll have to look elsewhere. Oh the size, I'm wearing other New Balance in the same size and being able to get an extra wide 4E! My Feet are not screaming at me at the end of the day.

These shoes looked good, that’s about it. I took a chance on New Balance, bought these & sneakers in same week. This brand is overrated for my feet. What is true for everyone (this shoe) is the toe area is so narrow & is a problem, the insoles are literally paper thin. Pretty top heavy shoes too. If you have feet pain or feet problems Do Not take a chance on these, I average 30 miles walking a day in ship dock, looking for great pair of shoes that can handle my hard work. These shoes are not it

insoles need to be replaced as they are rock hard and offer no support or cushioning. a bit on the heavy side but not that bad for a work shoe. needs a memory foam insole to be more comfortable.

I wear New Balance daily, and the work shoe was to small when I ordered my regular size, had to add a half size to make them wearable.

The fit of this shoe is spot-on (not bigger or smaller). Additionally, the color scheme, materials, and design is quite stylish for a steel-toed work shoe. However, these shoes become very uncomfortable after wearing them for just a couple hours. My feet ache all along the bottom after wearing them at work - especially near my toes. I recommend installing an additional gel sole for better support and cushioning. Overall, this work shoe is a keeper due to it's durability, quality craftsmanship and style. It holds up to a lot of physical abuse (i.e. stubbing toe off from metal objects, materials dropping on toes, etc.). Just make sure to purchase an additional gel insole for added comfort. Thanks!

These shoes felt great to walk in all day. My only complaint is they are not meant for hard work meaning if you are at a desk or just walking around you will be fine. If you are rough on shoes these are not for you. I wore them out in just under four months. Not the shoes fault as I'm sure they were not meant for what I put them through. Hope this helps.
