Love these hiking pants!! I have owned a pair for a couple years and they go through the gauntlet in a summer. In an unexpected down pour they dried quickly, they stretch when climbing steep grades and over boulder fields. They are super comfortable, stylish and I love the blue steel color! The pockets work well for me - especially with the zipper and there is nothing I don't like about these pants - for summer!
I have over 500 miles on these the past 2 summers. No issues other than one drawstring at the bottom broke loose. Not a big deal - I just retied it.
the cost v function is phenomenal! I wish I could buy more of these before they decide to change what already works perfectly!
Stretchy, quick dry, breathable, durable, stylish, zippered cargo pocket, great fit! Love them!!!

I love these trousers. I tried on every brand before purchasing and these were definitely my favourite.

Husband appreciates the looser fit and that they're not too tight in the crotch.

Great lighter weight pant for winter activities;snowshoeing, skiing, etc.. Stretch fabric makes them super comfortable. Plenty of pockets. Warm enough as is but also roomy enough for long thermal underwear. Not bulky like other "snow pants".

I wear these winter biking in AK. I layer long underwear depending on temps. I also wear them around town. I've got several pairs. The crotch has developed a hole in a few pairs, but I've used them extensively. I hope these don't go away.

I really like these pants i bought the butterscotch: which is actually more khaki than the picture shows. Too thick for summer these are good for shoulder season and winter. Seem true to size. My only suggestion would be a built in belt.

Almost unlimited mobility. Warm when you need them to be, yet still comfortable at room temperature. Probably wouldn't pass as dress pants, but they are great for almost everything else.

Excellent length and materials. Wear for hiking and cooler weather bike commutes. Abrasion resistant and warm.

Amazing!! I climbed Rainier in mid August only using these pants. They are very flexible, extremely comfortable, have three pockets with zipper, and they have the Long size for tall folks like me. Overall very satisfied

I have the old version and the new version in different colors. I tried many brands and types, but the Marmot Scree Pants are the best.

I love scree pants, just wish the logos were embroidered (like they once were) instead of decal style.

Comfortable fabric, good wind & water resistance. Would be nice if there were back pockets, otherwise great pants.

Extremely comfortable but a little thin for Colorado winters at 11,000 feet. Using a good base layer they work great.
With a wood stove as my main heat source I have to be extremely careful with sparks for fear of melting the fabric.

I have two pairs of the old style and one of the new. I have to say that the old style was near perfect for my needs (and are still go-to's years later). This new style is just OK. I will purchase these again, but as others have said, only if you bring back the rear pocket and zippers at the bottom of the pants. I also agree with others that the thigh pocket change is not ideal (the old style is more functional), but that change is not a deal breaker for me.

I have two Scree pants in black from a few years ago. They are the the greatest - I wear them all the time with my Icebreaker wool T-shirts. They have 2 front and one back zipper pocket. And, zips on the two leg cuffs. The embroidered logo is nice but not necessary. But WHY did Marmot remove the back zipped pocket? Place the front side pocket in front and too low? And remove the zippered leg cuffs. A few bad design decisions and some money saving as well. For such an expensive but great pair of pants - scrimping seems embarrassing for such a great brand. And removing the back pocket is just non-sensical. Bring them back and I'll get that 3rd pair in another color.

I've worn these pants for years on many trails and the slopes of mountains from Denali to Rainier to Cotopaxi. Well, I've worn the previous version on those trails and slopes. The changes to the current version are not great. As others have said, bring back the back pocket, move the thigh pocket to the side of the thigh, and put the zips back in the bottom of the pants. Otherwise, the pants are useless.

This is perhaps the 12th scree pants I and my wife have bought. It will likely be the last. Pockets are terrible. None in the back and the side ones are not as expected.

Previous model was amazing with a back zip pocket and zip cuffs at the ankles. The back zip pocket was nice to have but the lack of zip cuffs at the ankes is a huge mistake... You guys blew it. Now just an overpriced pair of stretchy-pants. :(
