I love my new raincoat because it's actually water proof. No more wondering if my arms are just cold or actually getting wet.

High quality jacket fit for rainy, windy weather. I wish this jacket had inside pockets and that the toggles to adjust the hood is easier to access when you wear it. 5 ft, 110 pounds and the small fits well, with or without layering with a puffer jacket/vest.

Great lightweight jacket. If only it has armpit ventilation to make this more breathable, then it would be perfect.

It's comfortable and light weight, perfect for layering. The only thing I don't like is the hood - when my hair is in a ponytail, the hood doesn't cover my entire face

This jacket is a very comfortable weight of fabric. Kept me dry in a thunderstorm of hail (and pouring rain) recently. It's a perfect jacket for southern California rain because it was still comfortable in the warm after the rain stopped. My only complaint is that the shoulders of the jacket are narrow and my shoulders are broader for a woman. I can wear this jacket on its own comfortably, but I'm not sure whether it would I would wear it in the field on trips given that it doesn't layer great with my body type.

This is a nice jacket. I have not worn it in the rain much because drought -but it has done a nice job repelling water. I bought it large enough to have ability to layer a fleece underneath.

This jacket holds up well to rain and wind and is nice and sturdy. Looks nice. The 4 stars is because of the awkward and inconvenient placement of the pockets.

Picked up this jacket for my partner as a waterproof layer, the stretch and weight are very nice on mixed weather excursions. Only major downside, no hanging loop for secure attachment or drying.

I like the new pockets but I don't like all the velcro. The older jacket had elastic on the cuffs which I prefer over the velcro. This jacket is heavier as a result.

I didn't like the fabric or the length on this for me but it is a very packable lightweight raincoat that might be great for backpackers and warmer rainy weather.

It's a nice jacket but very narrow and not stretchy like described. Needed something for walking the dogs and this I would get soaked from the waist down!

Love the fit and style of this jacket. I have used it a lot and was very pleased with how it functuoned until I was camping and it was raining pretty hard. The jacket got drenched. My shirt wasn't soaked underneath but was damp and the jacket was clinging to my arms. If you plan to be in more than a drizzle I say look else where. I am disappointed because I thought it was supposed to be waterproof.

I got this jacket for my birthday a few years ago and it hasn't been waterproof from the beginning. The water is not even coming in from the seams but from the fabric itself. I once had my phone in my pocket during a rainy hike in New Zealand and unfortunately I had to buy a new phone afterwards as mine died from water damage. The jacket looks great and is a very good fit. I loved that it is a little bit longer but it an definitely not be called a rain jacket.

This jacket is not waterproof. I'm currently hiking the Camino and experienced my first day for downpouring rain. I felt that my clothing under the jacket was getting wet but thought it was just sweat. When I reached my destination I found all my clothing soaked through from the rain. Pretty jacket but non-functional. Now I'm stuck with this jacket for the next 400 miles. Will try to return to North Face when I'm back.

I have worn the jacket on several occasions in the rain while hill-walking on the Wicklow mountains, on The Mournes and on the Cooleys, and each time the jacket proved to be non waterproof. It has been a disappointing purchase.

Futurelight is not waterproof. At all. Bought one of these in Banff - then tested it on the west coast. can't handle a 20 minute walk in the rain. Pretty much beads on the inside of the fabric, and wicks through to whatever you're wearing. Not much better than not wearing a waterproof layer at all. Can I give zero stars? It's being exchanged.

This jacket is not waterproof. I have the same issues as the previous reviewer. When I take my jacket off after being in the rain, I notice moisture all on the inside of the jacket and anything in my pockets is also wet. The jacket will bead only for a light drizzle, after that it just soaks right through. Disappointed.

I did a lot of research before buying this product. I bought this instead of a gortex jacket, as it was advertised to be more lightweight but just as waterproof and durable. This jacket is NOT waterproof. I wore it 2 times hiking in the rain and it soaked right through to my mid-layer in both the sleeves and under the zipper. My phone also got wet in my pocket. I've emailed north face many times about returning this jacket and have received no response.
