I have a pair of Keen insulated winter boots as well as a pair of closed toe sandals both of which fit perfectly. The Targhee III Oxford seems to have a wider toe box. I like the shoe and the length is correct. I just wish the toe box were a bit narrower.

Ordered an 11.5 in both the black and brown for my husband. The black pair fit a 1/2 size too short. I reordered the black pair in a 12 and it fit small too. Reordered another black pair in 12 and they fit. Not sure if they were from different batches or that the black and brown are made in different locations. Saying all that to say, make sure you try them on before you throw boxes away. Other than that, my husband loves them! He's found new work shoes.

shorter and narrower than Targhee II

I like everything about them except the insole. My feet could use more arch support and cushion. I guess I will be adding that myself.

The size felt true to length and width. I have a short wide foot (8 1/2 EEE) with a high arch or instep so I sometimes need a larger shoe to accommodate my foot. I went with the 9 Wide (E) because of the instep so the shoe is little long but that is not a manufacture issue. I find them to be very true to the size. I also bought an 8 1/2 wide (E) and it is a little tight across the instep but again very true to it's size.

Overall, this light trail hiking shoe feels good. The width of the shoe seems just right for me, but the length is just a tad short in the toe box. I'm hopeful the break-in will provide a bit more room. It has great traction on the trails, and is a sturdy hiking shoe. it's good looking, and well worth the cost.

I just wore out a pair of these. Took almost exactly two years of daily use. They are very comfortable shoes, if a little loose feeling. I really enjoyed that they look nice but can go rugged if necessary. For the price I wish the longevity was better. They are literally coming apart at the seams now.

Very comfortable. I wear them all day every day. When I got my first pair about 20 years ago the durability was superb. You could wear them until you wore the soles away. The quality has been on a steady dive though. Now the outer edges of the soles come unglued with minimal use. The whole sole has been coming apart at the juncture with the leather as well. I am continually repairing them with aquaseal to make them functional. Depressing. I wish I could get some of their first models again.
