I wanted to like this shoe. Overall comfortable and good foot support, but when walking shoes kept turning my feet inward and rubbed at my heels. It was a bit awkward walking them. Didn't feel natural.

I have the Escalante and the alone Peak 4.5. My first 4 toes are roughly the same length and sadly the Vihos and this tod-configuration don't mix. The shoes tapered more than the other two models causing some potential hot-spots that I wasn't willing to endure blisters for. I'll stick with the other two models for now. I said I wouldn't recommend them just because they didn't have the wider toe box for my fat, square feet like the other models.

I love my Altra Torin Plush 4.5 and Lone Temp running shoes. I bought the VIHO on a Black Friday Special - alas, they weren't for me. They were too tight across the toe-box and nipped at my ankles. Sorry to say that I had to return them - but, I do plan on replacing my Torin Plush shoes soon with another pair in the near future.

I am hunting for the perfect shoes for my bunions, and I thought these had potential after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, they have seams that rubs right on top of them. I will be returning these for a pair of men's Topos.

I wanted to like these shoes, but they are more narrow in the toe box than other Altra shoes I own. Please bring back the Intuition!

These took a little longer to break in than I thought they should, but they're comfortable now, and I like them. One thing, though—the laces, and Altra, I hope you're listening. The laces are very stylish, but they come untied almost immediately. I can replace them, of course. I can tie a double knot, which is really a nuisance. But I think that shoes that are sold as a high-end brand should not have crap laces. It's an insult.

I have a pair of the Altra trail runners and the Altra Viho. The viho feel super comfortable when I run. Unfortunately I have over 100 miles on them and have huge blisters form on my heels whenever I run more than three miles in them. I have narrow feet and have never had a consistent blister problem with a pair of shoes before. The Viho are even lighter and more comfortable than the trail shoes, but not worth applying bandages before every run to prevent friction blisters. Whichever size feels most comfortable when you test run the shoes, buy half a size larger or the heels will be too narrow.

Way too tight across the "bunion" region. One-year plus post-bunionectomy, so not as wide there as it used to be and these were still far too tight in that area. Length felt pretty true, though, so if you have a fairly narrow foot these may work for you.

I really like Altras. Sometimes the women’s size11 is fine and other times too snug. This one was a bit too tight. My ideal size is 11.5 . Very hard to find.

This Altra was very narrow. I have a normal size and width foot. I ordered my regular size 7 1/2 and that was fine but the width was just narrow. I had to return.

I wore Altra ones for years. Love them! Bought these shoes hoping they would be similar, but the shoe has become so narrow that they are no better than any other brand of shoes at the local shoe store. Since returning these, I have tried on a number of other styles from the running store all to find that they are too narrow through the toebox. Super bummed and no longer have a resource for shoes that fit my feet. Unless I buy mens. And that's no fun.

Nice style and color but narrow toe box despite Altra being known for a comfy toe box , which keeps me coming back. Also a bothersome seam that hit my large left toe leaving it sore and skin broke open, so even wearing other shoes hurt for a few days. Unfortunately I had to return the pairs I bought and since Altra doesn't price match the price you originally paid I am out tennis shoes ; at least from Altra.

None of the nice features about this shoe matter, because the instep is now so tight the shoe is uncomfortable just to put on. I'd read the reviews and was prepared for the reduced wiggle room in the toes - and as others mentioned, you can still wiggle your toes, though not as extravagantly as previous Altra models (and yes, count me among those who miss that). But Altra, what did you do to the fit of the FOREFOOT? The upper now presses so tightly around the top of my foot that it is literally uncomfortable just to wear the shoe around the house. It also feels like there's about 1/4 inch too much length in the heel. Count me among those who would love to see the Intuition 1.5 back (the shoe that originally made me an Altra fan)... but failing that, could you at least bring back the higher instep on the women's last, and maybe add back some room in toe-box? Honestly, these feel like the fit of your men's shoes (minus some of the toe box room). I'd also been hoping to replace my Superiors 3.5s with 4.5s, but I'm reading those got the same treatment, so... no. If I wanted sneakers that looked OK but didn't really fit very well, I'd buy the N---- F----.

Overall, the shoe fit a little large in all areas. It wasn’t too large to not try them though. The 0 drop and just overall fit of the shoe DID NOT work for me. I have high arches, bunions & did the Altra shoe finder questionnaire to pick these shoes. Within 5 minutes of walking, my calves were on fire & it was painful to walk or run. My normal walking/running is around 5 miles/day & I could barely finish 3 miles in these shoes. I wanted to like these shoes but just could not get past the pain.

Oh dear. I have always loved Altras and have had four pairs of the Intuitions which have been the best shoe I've ever run in. After speaking to Altra on their website chat, I was told this would be a close shoe since they discontinued the Intuition model. I've had them for over a week and I want to like them but its like running with cement slabs strapped onto my feet. There is virtually no flexibility. The sizing is very standard to the Altra brand and it is a nice looking shoe but very hard to enjoy :(

I like this Altra style best of the 4 pair I own. Still plenty of room in the toe area but not as boxy looking. Love Altras!

I wanted to like this shoe because it seemed like it might be a cross between Torin and Escalante. However, there wasn't enough upper to give a tight hold on the foot. The inner sole was hard and the outer sole inflexible. It's also small in the toe box for an altra. I sent it back for a Kayenta, which I like so far. I've only run on the treadmill with it.
