These are very comfortable shoes that fit me very well. The leather does not scrunch and leave permanent lines across the shoe. This has to do with the outstanding fit on my foot and also the type of leather used. The Magnanni brand shoes are cut a bit wider than other shoes. For some reason the company still marks the shoes as medium. These shoes are not American medium. I’ve had wide feet my entire life and the fit of these shoes is outstanding. Just for informational purposes, I also have a low arch so I don’t feel comfortable commenting on arch support. I am not an expert. I just know the shoe is extremely pleasant. The leather insert in the shoe probably helps a lot. Also for informational purposes I wear a size 10 wide in Uggs. A very popular brand. Uggs used to only have one size, but Ugg’s has now gone to differentiating between wide and medium. I was unaware of this change when purchasing some UGGs slippers and thought something had happened when the shoe didn’t fit. until I learned that uggs now has wide and medium shoes. Maybe someone with medium feet complained. I don’t know. People with medium feet control a wide margin of the shoe market. Perhaps uggs thought this was the best way to go for profit. In any case as far as Magnanni I ordered a half size down. I usually wear a 10.5 wide shoe or 2 EE in most brands. I got a size 10 that fit perfect. Perhaps my feet aren’t wide. Maybe companies just like to make narrow shoes. I don’t know who decided what the perfect human foot should be, but I have never had it. Shoe shopping has always been a pain for me. The Magnanni website does recommend ordering anywhere from a half a size to one whole size lower than normal of a given shoe. I chose to order from Zappos because of the rewards program fast shipping and the return policy. Also most of the stores don’t carry wide sizes often. Zappos has made it as painless as possible for me to now have a variety of shoes that all fit my feet but I have no other sneaker that fits this well. I liked these so much I ordered them in a additional color.
