Love the colors! I actually feel more athletic with these new, colorful boots. Silly I know, but nothing like an update to your wardrobe to make you feel good. I wear a size 9 and these hiking boots were true to size for me. However, I did not like the high arch support that came with the boots. I took them out and put in my own inserts. If you like a high arch support, you might like the insert provided. With my own inserts in them, I really like these boots. They feel light and flexible on my feet, unlike the former boots I owned which were heavy and stiff. My hikes in the desert are much more enjoyable now.

I really don't care for the colors of these, but as the saying goes "pretty is as pretty does". When I received these, I did a quick hike around the local redwoods to try them out. My toes on my right foot got slightly sore, so I replaced the insoles with the ones I usually put into my hiking boots. After that, they were perfect and didn't need any more breaking in. The Oboz website describes these as "if a trail running shoe and a hiking boot had a baby". This is very true, these boots are very light and agile. They felt super comfortable for 20+ miles in 2 days. No hot spots or blisters. However, the tradeoff for the lightness is the sole, you can feel every rock underneath your shoes. So for rocky trails or through-hikes with a heavy pack, I'd choose a more substantial boot. But on sand, dirt or slickrock these are awesome, particularly in warm weather. Very happy with that purchase.
