This is my 3rd pair of this style. I am not a runner and as I've aged, gained and lost weight these are the only shoes that don't aggravate my plantar fasciitis. These may not be for everyone, they are not cushy, full on arch support, or thick sole. But if you need your feet on the ground so your feet are actively balanced and in control without extra fluff to interfere with body mechanics then these are stellar.

I own several pairs of these shoes and I adore them. Beware they are for people looking for a minimalist natural shoe experience. These shoes are not for those who need stability! Order a half size up. I have run everything from trails half's to ultras in them and will not use anything else!!!

I don't understand how or why, but these shoes are amazing! I love these so much! This is my fifth pair. I went through four pairs and then NB discontinued this style for a while. I was so upset because these shoes had somehow cured the severe foot pain (plantar fasciitis? Heel spurs?) And I had to go back to regular running shoes. I have been wearing NB Fresh foam and after several months of wearing these, my feet were so messed up that I couldn't walk! I was so happy to see that NB brought back these vibram soles because after two weeks of wearing these for my daily one hour jogs, my feet are feeling so much better. If I had more money, I would buy a lifetime supply of these shoes! I don't understand why these work for me but these are irreplaceable. For reference, I usually wear an 8.5 M and the 8.5 fit me perfectly. I have high arches and a longer second toe. Please don't stop making these, NB!!!!!!!!

I wear a 10 and I ordered a 10 the fit is perfect. After trying several shoes looking for that wide toe box and low profile fit I have found my A#1 . I will never be without this shoe for the rest of my life. Regular shoes were a nightmare for me. If you wear low profile thin socks it's a dream , can be worn barefoot but I prefer light no show sock

The fit of the wide with is perfect for my foot because I have a narrow heel!

It was just too small, which is strange because this size in New Balance has always fit me perfectly. There's a weird constricting band around the widest part of the shoe, perhaps for extra support for runners? But right where that band is, the foot is at its widest so it is very uncomfortable. Had to return.

I sized up from my normal 8 (in 880s and 890s) and the 8.5 is perfect. I've run in Vibrams and other "barefoot" shoes, so I knew what to expect and I love these shoes. I use them on rural roads with unpaved shoulders. They work great for me whether I'm on the asphalt or on the dirt/gravel..

I have bought these before and will buy them again. I work standing up and my feet never hurt. I have huge bunions and these shoes do not bother my bunions. These run crazy small. But they fit me perfectly when I get a full size larger than normal. I wear them with socks. Maybe it you don't wear socks just get a half size larger than normal. I love how I feel more nimble in these shoes compared to shoes with more underneath. These are very flexible and light weight and bendable. They do not really provide any kind of support. Please never stop making these. Maybe make an all white more cottony looking pair to wear with casual summer dresses.
I'd also recommend:
Lems, Vivobarefoot, vibram five finger, xeroshoes

These shoes are the reason I can run. Back when I started running, minimalist shoe we're in vogue. Now that that's come and gone, shoes like this are harder to find. I've spent serious cash trying to run in shoes with more support, only to end up in pain. These shoes grip your foot, feel tight on, but don't hurt my feet in any way. They're supposed to be tight. Please never stop making these!!! I have a naturally flat arch (not collapsed from weight) and anything with arch support leaves my feet feeling literally broken! I can wear these all day if I want and feel like I'm not even wearing shoe.

This is my second pair of New Balance Minimus. Keeping the story short, I ordered 3 pair before a pair fit. I wear a size 7 and ended up in an 8 1/2, which are still a bit small. Unbelievable... no idea what New Balance was trying to do here.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I wear them to teach junior high music, to run, to walk, to hike in the mountains. I also run in fivefingers shoes. Barefoot-style shoes strengthen the muscles in my legs, supporting the joints, and result in comfort and fitness. To paraphrase Dr. Seuss, "I will wear them anywhere!"

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. And they don't look too bad either. They're versatile enough to wear to work, or out for a walk, run, or hike in the mountains. I wear barefoot-style shoes for health reasons. There aren't many such shoes to choose from so I'm super grateful for these! My previous pair lasted 9+ years!!

I so wanted these to fit. My favorite Barefoot Merrells are no longer offered so I had to shop around for something new and stumbled onto these. They are very well made and light as a feather. As others have said these are extremely narrow and the band across the top of the foot restricts even further - which was perfect for me because I have a very narrow foot. But they are definitely a half size too small and maybe even a whole size too small. I think if you get a pair that fits you will enjoy them.
I'd also recommend:
Merrells, Vionic, Sketchers

I think these feel more like a normal width shoe, even though I got the wide ones. I only got the wide ones because the regular width keeps going out of stock, and these work fine even though my feet are very average and maybe even a little narrow. The regular 8's also fit me fine without socks and these wide ones fit better with socks. I do miss how the regular width 8's have a more snug/supportive heel cup and arch fit, but these still feel great!

I really love this shoe though I returned and am exchanging for another pair because one seemed to have a manufacturing defect; the right shoe's strap across the ball of my foot was about 1/2" further forward on the shoe than the left one, which made it harder for the toes on my right foot to properly splay out when I stepped/ran. The left one fit amazingly well though. It hugged my foot in all the right ways. Felt very supportive of my heel and arch and had room for my toes, so a nice balance!

I have a bent tibia from breaking my leg, but somehow these shoes are still quite comfortable for me to walk or run in. I really need something that won't collapse when I land and these don't because they're minimal. They are great for trail running but I try not to wear them on the road much. I don't think they'd provide enough support and wear out. I do love these though and hope new balance keeps making them. I have two pairs.

Great low volume shoe for use in kayaks on multi-day trips. Wonderful grip and balance on rough terrain. Would be better if it had a hook and loop patch sewn on the heel for use with Dirty Girl gaiters.

They fit perfect without socks.? Need 1/2 size up if you want more room but they feel like your barefoot with support. I love them for training but I’m not a runner so can’t recommend for that!

My review is that I am sad you no longer make this style. I shattered my ankle a few years back and have been living in these size 8, width D and it really works for me. I will try the new style, but is there any place that you have this sneaker in the size I need? Not sure where else to look. I gave 5 stars for the correct size...not the ones I am returning.

I am obsessed with these shoes. They have completely changed my feet in one month. I feel like my feet get a massage in them. I don't even like wearing my running shoes anymore. You have so much support in the feet, 3 arches, a natural spring action - it just let's the foot do its job! Shoes don't need to help you, they just become a crutch and an enabler! I am sad they are not making them anymore with the vibram sole, but I jumped on a second pair while they had my size - I didn't find I needed to size up, my usually shoe size was perfect. They are super cute for a minimal shoe. Love the colors. I walk, hike, and work in them. It's a shoe love affair for sure!
