I was underwhelmed by this backpack. The style is very sophisticated, but it just did not seem functional to me. The water bottle sleeve is small, and will not accommodate a decent sized reusable water flask. The pocket that allows access to the water bottle from the outside is awkward. The pockets were numerous, but not intuitive. It seems like you could forget where you put things. The straps can be adjusted small enough for a short woman like myself, and the pack is not bulky and seems to be able to hold alot of stuff. For me, the lack of side pockets for a water bottle and umbrella were deal breakers for me. I really wish Tumi would design a stylish backpack with those features.

OK, A WEEK OF INTERNATIONATIONAL TRAVEL, NORMAL TOURIST TRIP KIND OF OK AND LOTS OF CONPARTMENTS. ZIPPERS (ALTHOUGH GET STOCK SOME TIMES AND FEELS WIRE) ARE RELIABLE. FANTASTICK HOW IT SLIDE ON THE ROLLING CARRY-ON, SO STRESS FREE EFECT. HAVING SAID THAT; IT MADE MY WEEK SO STRESSED BECAUSE OF THE SHOULDERS STRAPS THEY KEPT FALLING AND FALLING TO THE POINT I HAD TO HAVE MY BOTH HANDS HOLDING THEM IN PLACE IN ORDER TO WALK COMFORTABLE. I THOUGHT AT FIRST MAYBE BECAUSE I AM WEARING A LEATHER JACKET (SMOOTH SURFACE) THEN I TOOK IT OFF AND PROBLEM KEPT GOING ON. I THINK IS BECAUSE THE STRAPS ARE KIND OF ROUND INSTEAD OF FLAT ON YOUR BACK. THAT IS JUST ME GUESSING WHY! BECAUSE OF THAT I CAN NOT RECOMMEND IT... I AM TIRED (JUST GOT HOME AFTER A WEEK) AND ALL THE TIME AWARE OF THAT UN-COMFORTABLE SITUATION ON MY SHOULDERS. OMG NOT WISH THAT TO ANYONE. OTHER THAN THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE PERFECT BACKPACK.

This is an extremely well made backpack as I expected from Tumi. I purchased this as a gift for my adult daughter who felt it was a little too small for her needs. For reference, she wanted to put in a 15" laptop, change of clothes and shoes plus a few personal items for one night away trips. This backpack's size might be able to work for a weekend bag without the laptop, or as a laptop plus personal items carry all. For those who are interested in it, the leather is thick, soft and just beautiful! It looks like it will wear well. The hardware is substantial which is good, but you really need to like the gold as it pops against the black. It would be nice if this bag came with optional silver tine hardware.

The Tumi Voyageur Harford Backpack is both functional and stylish. It's the perfect bag to use while traveling, and for use around town. For a 5'3" person the size is ideal. Tumi quality can't be beat. Pretty awesome backpack! Thanks as always, Zappos :)
