Lots of talk about the new tongue design. You need to spend an extra minute adjusting it, so you can't just slip on and go like the last version of the Elevon. However, you can avoid blisters or any other nuisances that have been reported here, you need to make sure the tongue isn't folded in on itself. Nothing complex, just keep it perfectly flat and there will be no problems.. The design is a little strange since the material is thin, but once it's in the right place you'll love the rest. This Elevon has more cushion than the previous version. I've got 200 mi on these and they're holding strong. Enjoy. Thank you Hoka!

Comfortable shoe but I'm returning it due to a design flaw in the tongue. It's made out of a stiff almost sharp edged tongue that digs into the top of my ankle. The old tongues were fine. Why fix something that isn't broken?

I always bought the Bondi series until 6. I was very disappointed in that release so switched to elevon. These shoes are made differently. The tongue is attached strangely which makes them difficult to put on. The cushioning level which is rated plush is not substantial. I'm not a happy camper

The tongue was very high up on ankle and too sharp and hard edge.

I need plush for arthritis in my feet. I can wear these but plan to stick with Bondi in the future.

My Elevons are my absolute favorite running shoe - light, stable, not too soft, designed for more mileage. So I ignored the other reviewers’ warnings about the redesigned tongue on the Elevon 2. I shouldn’t have. It is long, sits right where the ankle bends and is made of material that is uncomfortably stiff. I’m really surprised the folks at Hoka would put out a shoe with this design. Everything else is great, including the white/nimbus cloud color. But the painful tongue is a serious dealbreaker. Hoka if you’re reading this - Bring back the old tongue! Will be returning these.

I have order 10+ pairs of these shoes in the older model, the new ones have a leather tongue which cuts your ankles. After 6 miles my ankles were bleeding. Please change the tongue back!!!

These shoes has been everything to me during my workouts!! They are so versatile I no longer have to change shoes when I squat and do other leg workouts like I used to. They are awesome for running jumping just everything and they feel so good they are so comfortable. I'm currently on two pairs right now but I will definitely be investing in more.

These are my everyday favorites for shopping and extensive walking/standing. Great support and style. I'm not a runner because I have a nerve issue in my right foot but these help me get through a long day without missing a beat. These also run true to size. I find a few other Hoka's run a bit short.

Once a friend of mine introduced me to HOKA sneakers about 6 years ago, I have never turned back. I went to a local running store and they only had two styles. I bought the Bondi because it was the most cushioned and as a heavier person this was the key reason for my interest in the brand. Due to the expert design of these sneakers, I have been able to go for long walks and/or jog (depending on my weight at the time) even though I have little to no cartilage in one knee. My one complaint over the years has been that I'm not overly fond of the color choices for the Bondi. A couple of months ago an email arrived with a picture of the bright red Elevon 2. When I noticed that it has the same neutral stability and plush cushioning as the Bondi, I figured it was worth a try. While I agree with some other reviewers that the tongue is weird, once I figured out the most comfortable setting for the laces and got used to it, it doesn't bother me anymore. I was determined to make them work, not only because I love my red kicks, but because they are otherwise so comfortable. I find that my knees and shins hurt less and have taken to wearing them as my regular everyday shoes. As a teacher, I'm on my feet all day and I don't want to be without them. Because I'm wearing them every day all day, I'm going to purchase another pair for exercising.

I'm overweight and this shoes are perfect for support. I do walk every day but with regular shoes my knees hurt. This shoes have cushion and are very light weight. Is worth the money

I love the shoe itself, same comfort, fit and durability as every pair of HOKA's I've ever owned but I don't like the way it laces. The laces are hard to tighten and untighten. Other than that - it's HOKA, great shoes!
