I have a small foot and I have a very difficult Time finding shoes in general. I was at Outdoor Gear looking for a new hiking boot and was fortunate enough to find the "Ahnu" boot. I have never put on a more comfortable boot. I have hiked in Bavaria and the great state of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Adirondacks of New York and the Smokey Mountains and I never had an issue with the boot... no hot spots, no blisters, great support and all around great comfort. I waterproofed the boot and my feet have never been wet! I would highly recommend you give this boot a try....

These are great for my plantar fasciitis. I have tried on tons of Keens, Merrills, addidas, etc and none have felt right. I like how tall these are bc they really secure your foot in the bed.

I have worn the Sugarpine model for the last 4 years and have hiked numerous miles on trails with them. A great, sturdy, reliable boot. I was so excited for a new pair!! Unfortunately, I took a full face plant in my new boots after tripping on the lace...with my camera and all! The NEW LACES are slippery and easily come undone. I compared them to the old laces - and the old laces are much better. The old laces have some grip and actually stay tied. :) TEVA, PLEASE, change the laces to the old style. I hike hundreds of miles a year and have never taken a fall because of untied laces. Save someone else the pain of cuts, bruises and damaged camera equipment by making the easy switch back to the older laces with more grip. Lesson learned: I will never hike without a DOUBLE KNOT in these boots with the new laces. I write this review to save someone else from the same fate I met on the trail. I absolutely love the boots but the laces are a liability. That is why I can only give 3 stars.

I generally wear woman's 11 M, with a midweight sock and orthotic. I bought a pair of these 6 years ago after also trying the Teva Montera. I tried on both again, as well as the Teva Grandview GTX, Hi-Tec Bandera, and the Altra Footware Tushar Boot. At the time of testing, I did not remember the specific style of Teva boot I had previously purchased so that didn't influence my choice. The Sugarpine won out as the one to keep. The difference from the Montera is that the Montera has a leather upper and round laces while the Sugarpine has nylon uppers and flat laces. Otherwise, they appear identical and fit about the same. I wear a hefty, custom orthotic that has a slight heel to it and I removed the insoles from all boots I tried. Squeaking can sometimes be a problem, but was not with the Sugarpine, but the Montera was slightly noisy. That was the reason I chose the Sugarpine over the Montera. I found both easy to get in and out of and to have plenty of wiggle room for my toes, even though the front of the boot looks like it might not accommodate that. One concern is that my old Sugarpines were no longer waterproof after about 4 years and would quickly soak through from dew on the grass; that is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for the overall rating. I'm hoping the waterproofing will hold up better on this pair. I had been wearing a pair of Columbia boots when it was wet, but would still pull out the more comfortable Sugarpines on dry days. The soles aren't as grippy as those on some other boots I've worn, but are fine for woodland hiking where it is not terribly rocky or hilly . The Grandview and Bandera were out because they were too small with my orthotics. The runner up was the Tushar. I was skeptical about the fit before I put them on because the toe box is massive.. think bozo the clown shoes. But the midfoot and heel fit snugly with absolutely no slippage, even though I got them in a 12, a full size up from what I usually wear. Very grippy sole, too. They were somewhat difficult to get on because of the snug mid-foot area, but they lost out mainly because they were twice as heavy as the Sugarpines, and they were much hotter after wearing for a few minutes inside on a 60 degree day. The fact that the clownish appearance did not deter me from strongly considering them tells you how impressed I was with the fit.

I had a pair of Ahnu Montara from about 2012 that were butter-soft from the first wearing and I've put thousands of miles on them. I replaced them with this new model and they look the same, but reduced my feet to a bleeding pulp. They seemed to fit and I think they're well-made, but if you're expecting the old Ahnu fit, these aren't it. Plan a long break-in period.

After a 35 mile hike my feet were blistered and I lost a few toe nails. My boots had also started to fall apart. They did not hold up well at all.

I love these boots. I have never had a blister and I hike everyday. My daughter bought a pair and climbed Long's Peak (a 14-teener) the next day! Light weight, which is what I want for my hip joints.

I had an old pair of these when it was just Ahnu and they were the best ever - wore them every day for years with no problems. Just ordered a new pair by Teva and the lining is not properly sewn in, so on my first hike it bunched into painful blister-inducing ridges in the heels. I would have thought it was a fluke, but it happened in both shoes, and I've since read other reviews with similar problems. Hopefully Teva will fix these problems and give us back the perfect hiking boot.

I hike a lot so comfortable solid shoes are a must for me! Previously I have purchased Ahnu leather, but could not find them this year, so Teva was my choice, and I was not disappointed!! As the size of the Ahnu was a 7.5, I chose the same size for the Teva and the fit was the same( I wear a 6.5 in regular shoes )

True fit, lightweight and same quality as Ahnu boots. Wish that they made more colors and/or had a vast variety.

I bought my first pair to wear on a trip to Italy. They did not even need breaking in. I wear these all the time as they are incredibly comfortable. These are the lightest most supportive and waterproof hiking boots I have ever owned!

The boot is super lightweight and easy to walk in. The only issue I had was with the insole. It was wrinkled in one of the boots and didn't seem to fit well and made the boot feel smaller. I swapped it with my running shoe insole and it worked perfectly.

I had the original Ahnu Sugarpine's that we're faithful for many years, and I wanted another pair so bad. I was skeptical to purchase these after reading some reviews, but eventually gave in and bought them. I'm so glad I did! They're just as durable and comfortable. Missing a few features, but over all, I'm so so so glad I ended up getting these! I'm typically a 7-7.5, so I purchased an 8, and they fit perfect.

I've been wearing this model for years, when they were still Ahnu brand. I love them. I'm glad Teva didn't make any major changes to the style. The waterproof quality holds up for a long time. I live in Pennsylvania and hike in a lot of mud. They also barely require any break in time. I often hike long distances and have rarely had blisters. I order a half size up from my regular shoe size.
