All in all these are great sandals. Very comfortable for everyday use and hiking. However one thing i didn't like about my pair was the left sandal's straps are a bit longer than the right sandal. Making them look uneven when i wear them.

I have worn Teva's with confidence for over 20 years. I paid $100.00+ for this pair, and although they are very comfortable, they don't have the quality I've come to expect from Teva. I will not be wearing these for any long hikes, and this will be my last pair that I purchase. It's really sad to see.

These were great sandals while they lasted. I have had them for about 3 years but use them very infrequently. Worked great for some mid length hikes and as water shoes while tubing, very comfortable and supportive. That said, the top cushioning layer on both sandals is separating from the mid layer. The warranty is only for 1 year so I'm hosed on getting them repaired or replaced by Teva. Considering the price tag and minimal level of abuse I put these through, I am very displeased. Would definitely recommend steering clear of this model

I liked the new Vibram tread and the padding on the straps. Unfortunately, the foot bed was uncomfortable and too squishy, not as firm as a typical Teva. Also, I didn't like the fact that you can't adjust the back heal strap (I was aware of this and thought I'd try it). I returned the sandal. I'd buy it if Teva made the foot bed smooth, included an adjustable heal strap, made it more firm, and created more vibrant colors for their mens sandals (I don't know why Teva makes the mens sandals so boring).

If you've worn other Tevas, especially Terra Fi that this is modeled after, you will likely find these underwhelming, to say the least, if not outright awful in their design, especially if you don't have giant fat ankles - i.e. normal or skinny ankles. With the fixed heel strap, the sandals require significantly extra tie-down of the ankle strap, so it hangs way beyond the Velcro over the front of the ankle, towards the outer ankle bone. This not only looks terrible, but makes the sandal feel very sloppy, even in merely trying them on. I didn't even bother trying to walk around in them, just packaged them back up for return. Kind of a shame, because there are other attributes to make these a nice sandals - noticeably the cushy footbed, Vibram sole and well-padded straps. Teva really needs to shorten up the straps on these for normal-sized people and make a separate version for those that are oversized.

I was quite happy with my Teva Hurricane XLT2 but wanted to "upgrade." It seemed like the logical answer was the Universal Trail. I found the fit of these to be off. It feels frustratingly roomy in certain areas near the rear of my foot, and I have wide feet. Part of the reason is possibly because the rear-ankle strap is not adjustable, but I am not sure; regardless, why is it that Teva included that feature on the XLT2 but not on this one, which is a more premium offering? I tested these back and forth vs the XLT2, and I regret to say these are not more comfortable. I like the inner sole of the Universal Trail better, but the "roominess" detracts from that. As another reviewer has stated, I'm not sure why they don't just take the XLT2 and upgrade it with a Vibram sole, or -- better yet -- upgrade it with the Vibram sole and the Universal Trail's inner sole. Either way, I had to return these and will instead buy another pair of XLT2s. This is a bit frustrating because the industry lacks a basic black, minimalist, highly comfortable sandal that also uses the Vibram sole.

Bought these sandals for my husband. He thought he would like them when he first tried them on. He wore them off and on for the first couple of days but didn’t like the texture of the sandals on the bottom of his feet. Also, (and most importantly) the tip of the sandals would catch when he was walking and he almost tripped several times. He is in his late 70’s and for him they are a definite falling risk.??

With no additional heel strap for you to lock down, my foot continues to slide back too far. Its useless to me because of that unfortunately as I love the look of this particular version.

Will have to call customer service to discuss issue of the black pair that is just not comfortable.

As mentioned, I love these to death but after a year of light use they're coming unglued at the sole in the front. I left them to dry in the sun for a few hours when it was 80-something out and now both of them are coming undone. Disappointing considering the price and brand - I'm going to Chaco next

Isn't it reasonable to expect the second order to be the same as the first?
Well, it wasn't. The inside of the shoe had a rough texture that wasn't there on the last pair I ordered. It would be uncomfortable even with socks,

Why bother putting a vibram sole if the straps pull out after a year. Make the heel strap adjustable

I really wanted to love these sandals, but the extra cushion made my feet unstable and cause me to develop a bunion on my right foot. The front strap pulls your toe inward while the extra cushion and space at the joint of my big toe allowed it to stretch far beyond where it should've. I'm in lots of pain now and will be throwing them away.

Teva was a product I've relied on. No more. This pair has a floppy base that drags on the ground. I wore them anyway. Weird fit that I hadn't had a problem with before. The straps need to be carefully adjusted.

This is my second pair of Tevas, I was so happy with my first pair that lasted me for 5 years that I decided to buy again and upgrade the hiking version since I do a lot of that on my travels.
Less than 3 months of backpacking in South America, not just one shoe broke but the second one too. I've worn some poor and cheap quality shoes on my travels before, but they never broke that quickly and never both at the same time.
I am so disappointed in Teva and will definitely never purchase anything from Teva again. Can't believe both shoes broke after a light use over few weeks time.
The warranty procedure is not a possibility for me as a nomad, and having two broken shoes is not ideal for any traveler.
Save your money and do not buy any of their shoes if you plan to use those shoes on your adventures. Anything more than light/moderate use over few weeks time and your shoes will break.
You can see from the attached picture that they even still look brand new but both already broken.

Footbed started to split from Vibram sole in less than 12 months with light use. Customer support refused to replace this sandal. This should not happen on a nearly $100 sandal. Never again Teva.

Bought those 3 months ago and the sole is splitting in half already...
I thought Tevas meant good quality but I guess not anymore :-(
Customer service offered to replace them but I first have to send them back and wait 3 weeks, those are my only open toes shoes so what do I wear in the meantime...?
