They are great shoes but I've already noticed quite a bit of wear from running. I don't run a lot and am not sure just how much wear should be gone by now. Will know more later. Otherwise a great shoe.

Pretty happy with shoes but ordered them in black and they arrived in navy which was disappointing.

The Asics 1000 9 is a decent shoe, but it's not for everyone. It wasn't for me, and I returned it.
Pros: Durable, good price point, supportive, breathable
Cons: Stiff, no forefoot cushion, narrow, unattractive overlays and heel
The fit is a bit tight and I have a medium-width, low-volume foot. Overall, I feel it runs narrow because I have to loosen the laces all the way up along the toe box to make it comfortable. I wear a 7.5 in a street shoe and an 8 in most athletic shoes. I wear an 8.5 in Asics, not just this shoe, but all models. This felt normal for Asics, but a bit small compared to other shoes. I am a mild pronator with a low arch, and these provided sufficient support. I found the insole too stiff and my feet never settled into a comfortable position. The stiffness made the shoe "slap" rather than flex with each step. While the heel has cushioning, there is little to none in the forefoot. Lastly, the mesh upper is wonderful and mimics higher end shoes. However, the large plastic thing that wraps around the heel and the material of the overlays on the sides make the shoe look cheap.
Take Away: For me, doing anything in this shoe, especially standing, for very long would become uncomfortable. This could be a fine shoe for an entry level runner who plans to ONLY use the shoe for running. I no longer run, and was looking for a supportive shoe that would be great for all-day wear, walking, and standing. If you are also looking for this and need more support than a cushioning only shoe will provide, I suggest spending an extra $30 for the Asics GT 2000 or the Brooks Adrenaline.

Ordered these since ASICS doesn’t make a nice navy pair in the Gel Kayano 27 which I recently purchased in black. Ordered same size/width but these felt too short thru the toe and material is very thin in the toe box which I’m not accustomed to but willing to try since I live in warm climate. Will return as I ordered a half size larger to try. Still like ASICS tho!

I bought 2 pairs of the GT 1000 9's: Size 9.5 and Size 9.5 Wide. My normal shoe size is between 8.5 and 9, normal width, but after going to a running store for a professional fitting, they told me most people need to size up one half to one full size in all brands of running shoe. Also, I was looking for a neutral-to-slight-overpronation shoe, due to my extremely flexible feet with medium-low arches. The running store told me the more flexible your foot is, the more rigid your shoe needs to be. So I bought the GT 1000 9 and the Gel Pulse 12, in both sizes each.
I can tell you the GT 1000 9 is not the miracle shoe that the glowing reviews make it out to be. There is a strong curve to the toe, and yet it feels like there is little support under the big toe, making it feel like the foot is rolling inwards MORE, not less. The shoe is much uglier than the Gel Pulse 12, with old fashioned north-south perforated mesh, and a strangely slim toebox that makes my toe feel like it's going to punch through the top of the shoe. The reinforcements are on the inside of the shoe, rather than the outside, but it definitely makes you feel as if your toe will scrape through the fabric in a matter of weeks.
The Coast Blue is a faded medium blue---somewhat dusty and cooler toned. The Piedmont Grey is a pale icy silver, but it seems like it will get dirty in minutes. (If you are looking for a pretty blue, try the Gel Pulse 12 in Mako Blue----it's an unusual blue with a slight green tinge.)
After putting 7.5 miles on the GT 1000 9, I still felt like my arches were burning. Not dire pain, but definitely a strain along the arch. I don't understand how it can claim to have good arch support. It has only mild arch support, and if you have flexible feet like me, you'll probably want more arch support than this. I ended up going with the better-looking and more comfortable Gel Pulse 12. It's a neutral shoe, so I don't expect it to alleviate slight overpronation, but it's an all around comfortable shoe with a normal toebox and a modern look.

I had a gait analysis at a running shop and of the three pairs - all different brands - I tried, these felt the best. They weren't the lightest of the three, though. But I liked the stability it gives my ankle. They're very comfortable when walking or running - not had one blister yet. But they can make my toes go a little numb, which isn't something that happened with my old shoes. However, this could well be down to having chosen the wrong size so I can't hold it against the shoe. I'd suggest trying them for a run before buying.

Really comfy and so far no problems for my over pronating feet - just managed a half marathon plus training in them. My last GT2000s wore away at the heal inside very quickly - fingers crossed these ones hold out

These fit great and have a fair amount of cushion which means they feel slightly less supportive than other shoes. Great for moderate exercise and walking.

I like them but they are too small. Maybe my foot grew from wearing flats during Covid.

Everything was just as expected with these Asics. I would like to try another brand, but just can't find one that fits as well as Asics.

I bought some bike trainers about a month ago for road running and they are horrific - so I replaced them with these, they are amazing ! They are true to size and are very supportive - would definitely recommend.

Cath lab nurse here with alot of heel pain and a newly fractured ankle. I was hoping they would be the answer to my heel pain but still have very little relief. However they do have great support for my ankle and I seem to have less pain there so I took that as a win!
