Fit is true to size of previous GT 1000, GT 2000 and Gel Keyanos. I pronate and have flatter arches and these shoes are supportive but not painful to wear all day. Don't buy these for tennis or basketball. If you tried to play sports that involve cutting side to side you'll tear a hole on the sides of toe box. These shoes are for running or walking in forward or backward planes. Not enough lateral support near the toes for much else

Great fit, provides great cushion. Best shoe model I've found for me to keep from hurting.

I have flat-feet, no arch, bunion pain and low back pain (possibly due to my scoliosis and knee-length discrepancy). I ordered these shoes as my 1st ever pair of ASICS in a size 8-Wide. The shoes felt magnificent! I felt like I was walking on air! All my pain was gone!! I run with these shoes for 30 mins every morning and wear them to work for 8-10hour work day where I'm walking 90% of the time. Running and wearing them to work wore them out fairly quickly... within 3 months my pain returned. I love the shoe and would order them again maybe in a regular 8 instead of an 8 wide... so they will last longer next time. I made the HORRIBLE mistake of ordering the GT 2000 -8 thinking the updated version would have a better fit and last longer--- WRONG! DON'T DO THAT! THAT VERSION SUCKS! Stick with this model GT 1000 9! It's the best! The fitting is incredibly tight but the support and the stability you get from that snug fit is worth it! Your pain will be gone and your foot will be in neutral alignment!

while not as tight as the other 4E Asics models I tried( GT-2000 8, GT-2000 9), it is still nowhere near as wide and comfortable as your 4E models from 3-4 years ago. I can wear them about a half hour before I have to take them of. Needless to say the search is still on to other brands. Maybe if enough people complain they will return to the width of old.

Different level ! Love ASICS shoes and the GT-1000 really helped me get to the next level with my running performance. Immensely comfortable - I chose a half size bigger than my usual size and the fit is perfect. Paid a very good price and wish I'd purchased more than one pair of these shoes.

Love them. Have not had this model of shoes for a year or two after my last pair gave up after a lot of miles. Pleased to be running with these again.
