New Balance tends to be a wider shoe through the arch and rest of the shoe. Not this style. Much more narrow than the wide version of his last shoe. Reordered the extra wide and still is tight in the arch. If you truly have a wide foot, pass on this style.

Worst shoe ever!! My low key, quiet 7yo has only worn these shoes every day for 3 weeks and already they have come apart. The toe, where the leather and mesh merge, has ripped open on both shoes. The shoe lace torn in 2 while trying to tie it today. And the mesh on the top of the shoe already has a hole. These shoes belong to my child who prefers to draw chalk in the driveway rather than play football with his brother, so we’re extremely disappointed in the quality of this shoe. If these shoes belonged to my other son, then I wouldn’t be surprised they gave out so soon, but no excuse for them to fall apart as quickly as they have. Do not waste your money!

I liked the style and the fit. Actually I loved them on my son’s feet. Unfortunately, after two times he wore them for a short time, the fabric tore as is shown in the picture, which can no be considered as normal wear and tear. I had to send them back.

Complaint from my son, "The shoe laces are too short!" For a boy that is still learning to tie his shoes, short laces are hard to tie. And the shoes were laced pretty tight already.

I love New Balance for their selection of XW, and out of all of their shoes I’ve tried, the 680 has fit me the best. I’ve bought many versions over the past 5 years and have yet to be disappointed. I wish other companies would make XW, but until they do, my money goes to NB!

My son has cp and his left foot does not have strong muscles to support the arch or the strength to pick up his foot when walking. This shoe gives him the right support and light enough to walk without dragging his foot.

We have had these shoes for less than a month and about two weeks ago we started noticing they were already wearing out on both shoes. Now a month in there are full holes on both shoes. Horrible!

These were received three weeks ago and are already falling apart. Both shoes are ripping at the sides.

Excellent fit! My son has a very wide and thick foot. These sneakers are the only ones which fit him well. They all seem to be out of stock at the moment. I hope they are back in stock soon.

we had 2 pairs of these shoes and both got holes in the mesh within 50 days. Zappos was great and refunded me, but don’t waste your time with these.

My son loves these and says they are super comfortable. However, the soles starting falling apart within two weeks, and the laces are made from a very slippery material and won't stay tied. I'm very disappointed by the quality, given the price.

These shoes fit the width and length well. The strap was a little long. The shoes held up well to a year of constant wear. The sole is still attached, the heel is not broken down. The fabric is showing wear at stress/rub points. The sole is worn down a little on one side of the heel.

Had these sneakers for 10 months and almost worn daily. Great hold-up for an active 10 year old boy. Came back to purchase another one in larger size and there is no inventory. Looked at other sneakers and brands, and the styles and colors are not attractive for boys. Bring back - black/grey, navy, other dark blues, browns, etc., colors that hide wear and tear, and match every outfit. What is happening to sneakers? They get more hideous year after year!

My 10 year old son loves the shoe and we are ordering another pair for summer.
