ASICS Gel-FujiTrabuco 8 Looking for an ultimate terrain running shoe? Experience comfort and durability when running in all terrain with GEL-FUJITRABUCO 8 running shoes. This model's advanced technology, like the ASICSGRIP outsole, offers improved traction on rough terrain or slippery surfaces. The GEL-FUJITRABUCO 8 model has a midsole in full ground contact to provide a smooth transition in each step, while the DYNAMIC DUOMAX application in the midsole increases stability. In addition, the light FLYTEFOAM technology will help your progress to create a stronger bounce. Rear Foot GEL technology absorbs shock for cushioning under the foot to help relieve your joints in severe impact. The upper is supplemented with durable overlays to withstand damage that can occur from rocks and roots, while the padded outsole pattern provides better traction in loose or slippery terrain. What are you waiting for? Experience, love and enjoy trail running with FUJITRABUCO 8!

Well built shoe. Very stiff sole for stones but pretty stiff for anything but trail running

Shoes felt great, did well hiking through some trails. Fast wear on pavement getting there, and not up to carrying an extra pair of shoes to get there.

I'm 6' 3", 43 years old and am using these as speed hikers. Being tall I move quick, large stride. Normally wear a men's size 13 and that's what I'm wearing in this pair of Gel-Fujitrabuco 8. That gives me a dead-on thumb's width of space between by toes and the toe of the shoe. I have never worn an Asics trail shoe, so this is a big-time first for me. Good trail shoe so far with me putting at least 50 to100 miles on them, yes, they're more or less still new... a mix of terrain from grass fields, steep (up and down) to wet and muddy trails, to paved roads to mountainous terrain and crossing a brook stepping on wet/damp boulders and basic elevated trails with all sorts of everyday trail debris found in Western Massachusetts. The tread is aggressive. I love it. From time to time mud/dirt stick between the lugs, but it's not a deal breaker. I have a men's narrow, low volume, neutral arch foot and the shoe fits good. High cushioning. Cannot feel the trail underfoot (i.e. rocks etc..). Must have a good rock plate. Very good pronation control when I step on rock/boulder or a trail rut the wrong way and my foot rolls. Plenty of room in the toe box for my foot. If you have a wide men's foot this may not be the shoe for you. If you have a narrow foot like me, these are worth a try. In the beginning I did not use the upper most eyelets and ouch did I get heel hot spots. Blisters! Since then I've used the upper most eyelets and much better. Cinched it up nicely. These are not waterproof, so muddy, wet conditions expect your feet to get wet, but the shoes seem to dry out reasonably well. Crossing wet/damp/moss laden boulders in a brook, I haven't had any issues. I've stubbed my toe a few times and knock on wood...so far the shoe's bumper has protected my toes quite well, which surprised me seeing the bumper isn't as beefy (it's very low profile) as most of the highly known trail shoe brands. I've scuffed them on all sorts of woodland debris and so far the mesh hasn't torn. A few times I was like "that had to go right through it", but I looked down and no tares. I don't know, maybe it's just luck! Going down steep trails my toes do not hit the tip of the shoe. Shoe seems to lock my foot in place well. Shoe feels a bit warm sometimes, but it's summer here in Massachusetts, so it's kinda to be expected. My feet do not feel like they're in an oven using Darn Tough or Costco (Kirkland) hiking socks. The laces are great. No issues with them coming undone. The downside is the shoe tends to kick-up dirt/sand into the heel, which leads to a hot spot. Dirt/sand collects / sits between the heel area of the shoe and my sock. Can be VERY uncomfortable. An abrasive feeling. That's why I give four out of five stars. As I continue to put these shoes through a beating, I'm very curious how they'll hold up. I'm notoriously rough on my trail shoes. Once they get a few hundred miles on 'em it'll be interesting how they hold-up, including the tread. I normally get at least 600 miles (ish) out of my shoes (not Asics) and at that point they're pretty much falling apart with a flat, bare tread. It's premature to give these shoes an all-out from start to end review. I'm not there yet.

This was a great looking shoe, good support and easy to walk with....but for me it was just too narrow in the footbed. I would recommend for someone with narrower feet. The shoe had good support and traction.
I'd also recommend:
Altra shoes are awesome with a nice wide and supportive footbed.

Great colors involved in the design of the shoe, size was a bit smaller than normal and I’m a size 7 in this brand, had to return for a half size bigger. Perfect type of rugged shoe for walking trails & hiking suggested.

There is nothing subtle about these shoes. Very aggressive tread and brightly colored. The arch is a little bit high, but it's manageable for their use as a softball coaching shoe.

This is a very narrow shoe. Not even close to a D width.

I am a midwesterner and run trails of mud, gravel, limestone, dirt, snow, and more. The first 30+ miles on these shoes presented no issue and the were great in sloppy conditions. They were my go-to shoe for Moab's Red Hot 55k and they were super sticky on slick rock, great in sand, and let in little debris. Another 10 miles of training and then the Quivering Quads 50k did them in. They had great traction, gave me no foot, skin, or knee issues every time I wore them, but the mesh upper tore slightly on the right shoe and all the way on the left, leaving a hole than is unacceptable on a trail shoe. I really do like the shoe and how it performs, but with a hair over 100 miles on them, I have to say I am disappointed in durability. I would give the shoes 4 stars if not for the hole in the upper and also for poor drainage of water if conditions are more than a puddle in the trail.

Why is it that shoe companies think that all men have petite little woman feet? Offer wide sizes and advertise it to see what the true demand is instead of just telling us "there's no demand". Why would I have a demand for a product that doesn't fit me?

You don't need to go up a half a size need to go up a whole size! I'm sure the shoe is well designed But not for my feet Much narrower than any other ASICS I've ever owned. I've had the 26s I've have the 27s. I don't think it's a good buy for most.
