I have been hunting for a pair for brown work shoes for weeks and after 2 trips to the shoe store, 4 pairs ordered online and returned, these finally fit. I have been a size 8 my entire adult life but after 3 kids in 5 years plus nagging bunions, I feel like a standard 8 is a bit tight but an 8.5 is much too loose. But these, in a size 8, were perfect. The toe box is widest exactly where my bunions are so it doesn’t put pressure on them and the top is elongated just enough that it doesn’t pinch the top of my toenails. They are lined with a wonderful soft leather so wearing them without socks doesn’t get hot and stinky. And they style is just gorgeous. These will definitely last for years making the high price tag totally worth it.

I'm on a quest to find the perfect loafer. Hard to do as I've gotten older and my feet have a mind of their own. This shoe's leather was soft and lovely, but I like a more padded insole now with more arch support...on my feet all day at work. Nice shoe but not the one. Onward with my quest.

I’v been looking for a good pair of loafers for quite some time. Finally decided on this shoe from Madewell. My feelings are mixed. They fit well. A tiny bit snug, but leather shoes need to be a bit snug when new because they will stretch. After about 10 hrs of wearing them, they fit great. To me, they are casual and cute. My only problem, is the leather. While the shoes are “Made-well”, they used lesser quality leather. In about 10 hrs of wear, much of that sitting, I already have actual creases in the leather across the top of the left shoe. Not as bad on the right. All leather will eventually crease, unless you have shell cordovan, but a full grain leather should do quite a bit better than 10 hrs of wear. Yes, I do use cedar shoe trees, but the creases/krinkles are definitely there. Although I like other shoes they make, I will not buy them due to poor leather used in their construction.

I normally wear a size 9, but the 8.5 fit better in this style.

Overall comfortable, but the heel slips. I prefer the look and feel of Bass Weejuns which aren't available on this site. Weejuns fit snugly without rubbing but do require a shoehorn to put on.

True to size. I am a true 9 on the narrow side of medium and these fit perfectly. The only thing I don't like is that the manufacturer has changed from leather soles to man-made soles. Nothing like a fine-made leather sole. I had a pair back in the 90's that I wore out and almost had re-soled. Now I regret throwing them out. (Franco Sartos)

These were very cute. I bought 4 different pairs of loafers and these were my second favorite. Great tan color, rich but would go with everything. I ended up keeping the pair of Sam Edelman loafers because I had a feeling that the soles of these would wear out faster. Order both if you can't decide, I was very close to keeping these!

I bought pair of Madewell loafers, in black, last fall and have been wearing them all winter, morning to night, with dress slacks in the office or with jeans, and cannot remember ever having such comfortable work shoes. I was grateful that I was able to still purchase a second pair this Spring -- the last pair of brown size 10 in Zappo's stock! With chunky heals and nice tailoring, they are a perfect combination of traditional and hip -- loafers I will wear for as long as they can be polished and re-soled..

This is my 1st pair of Madewell shoes and I'm so glad I discovered this brand! This loafer is classically styled with a substantial sole for wearing when the weather isn't perfect. They are comfortable straight out of the box; I wore them for 7 hours today and they were very comfortable. The footbed is lightly padded and has great arch support. I ordered a half size down after reading the reviews and am glad I did . . . I'm a reliable 8, and the 7 1/2 fits perfectly with winter tights. The leather is thick and I hope it will wear well; I'm a little concerned given the review that complained of the leather creasing, but I'm going to give them a chance.

I adore these shoes. I’ve had a hard time finding loafers that aren’t boring or too conservative. These have a little extra flair that makes them extra cute. My perfect fall go-to. Very comfortable right out of the box.

They are a great quality leather shoe. The soles are sturdy and will last a long time. It takes a few times of wear to break them in but they do hold up well. I didn’t have any major problems wearing them for 8-10 hours of office work.

Great overall fit!

I so wanted to love this shoe but alas, it was not wide enough.
