I am older (80) and I walk 3 miles daily. These Mizunos are breathable light weight, very supportive for my arches, and cradle my heels perfectly. No feet aches or pains - arches, heels or toes. This is my 3rd pair of Mizunos in the last 6 years. It will not be my last.

The Mizuno Waveknit R3 is a great shoe. It has innovative technology, a wonderful mix of cushion and stability, great durability and a great look. It truly has everything a daily trainer needs but it's just too much. The weight and drop of this shoe, is so much that I really felt that my gait pattern began to change and my runs became more laborsome. I can however, see this shoe really working great for someone who is an occasional runner and would like to have one pair of sneakers to run, workout and wear casually. This may also be good for a heavier runner that likes to run at a slower pace. Overall, these R3s have a lot going for them and are great in many ways but sometimes less is more.

Wanted to l-o-v-e because these are supposedly designed to help people whose feed supinate (roll outward, placing bulk of weight under pink toes, for example). But as I wore these around the house I quickly realized they are made for running, not walking or other forms of exercise: they are designed to roll forward (to the toes) with little cushioning under the toes. That's not for me as I will NEVER be a runner. Got the magenta color and loved it, but the comfort is more important the color so back they went for someone else to love.

I have had good track record with this style so I ordered it again. The shoes are super comfortable and fit like my old ones except these are even lighter and provide good support. I walk 3 miles a day.

I have been wearing mizuno's for over a decade. I wear the wave rider's. This time around I decided to try the knit version of the wave rider. A fantastic shoe. It is by far my favorite running shoe I have owned. Structured, yet more form fitting. The shoe molds around the foot while walking/running. I never wear athletic shoes with jeans, however these are the exception to that rule. Well done, Mizuno. Only recommendation is better color selection. How about white and gold?

Love these! I have been a Wave Rider die-hard for YEARS! I refuse to wear any other shoe. Saw these Waveknits and had to have them. Big fan! Very comfortable and stylish.

Do you need a cushioned daily trainer that is not squishy? Do you want a shoe that will last? Do you want a no-nonsense shoe that gets the job done? If the answer to any of these questions was yes, then this is would be a great shoe to add to your running collection if you have a need for a new shoe. While this shoe is not exciting in terms of design or technology, it more than makes up for it in the function of the shoe. It's utilitarian, like a jeep. If I were to use an ice cream analogy, it is less like rocky road and more like vanilla... who doesn't like vanilla. I have run in a previous version of this shoe and it is very similar to the non-knit version, except I really like the knit upper. I put a lot of miles in this shoe on various surfaces and it performed well in all the different tests I put it through. It was comfortable on shorter runs, long runs and everything in between. I will be using this shoe for months to come. Pros Knit upper is stretchy and comfortable Good cushion that is not too squishy U4IC Cushion feels springy Rubber outsole provides good traction and adds to the overall durability Felt more stable than prior versions Built like a tank Cons Sizing is not like prior versions, go with your true foot size Plastic plate didn't seem to add to the ride Shoe felt like it was slapping against the pavement a bit Looks like a tank

I have skinny feet, so not sure everyone would have this problem: the tops of these had extra fabric. The toe box felt too roomy and made my foot feel unstable. I could actually reach down and pinch the excess fabric on the top.

I’m a huge fan of Mizuno Wave Riders. I have a super narrow heel and super high arch; these shoes accommodate my orthotics and fit so well in the heel that I have never had to break them in/suffer blisters. (I run 5k generally, for perspective)

I use these for running, walking and 5k. Very comfortable and conform to the bottoms of my feet. This is a plus for me. Thanks

I love this model! I have joint injuries to my hip and ankle. These shoes provide just enough stability, but aren't too rigid. This is my third pair and so far no injuries or related problems!!!

The Mizuno Rider Waveknit 3 would be great for 5K or Half Marathon runners. It would also be great for those recovering from achilles injuries with the Ramp/Drop: 12 mm. The toe box is wider while the rest of the shoe hugs you foot and supports the ankle. I would pick another shoe for tempo runs or quicker paced runs as this shoe feels a little beefy for quick running. But with it being super comfy I will certainly keep it in my lineup.

These will be my fourth and 5th pairs of Waveknit 3s. Haven't broken these in yet because I'm still working on pair #3. They're super comfortable for me, I get great traction, and they don't make my knees hurt when their mileage is getting high. I run 20-45 miles a week in them in all weather outdoors. I think I liked the Waverider better than the Waveknit, but I've ended up with a lot of pairs of these and they've treated me well.

Love these running shoes! I wish they still sold them, I'm going to have to switch brands since all the newer versions are killing my knees

I've used a few versions of the Wave Rider shoe the last 6 years. Was looking for a model of the wave rider 20 but couldn't find it in my size and didn't want to spend more than $100 on a newer model of the Wave Rider. This is has been a great replacement so far!

A friend mentioned that the only shoes she wears for her 'difficult' feet are Mizunos, and since I too have bad feet, decided to give them a try when I saw they were on sale. They seem to run a little bit smaller than my previous shoes, but are so comfy when I slide my feet into them. I believe I am a convert to Mizunos.
