This is an awesome shoe. I wear it for 8+ hrs standing at work. I also like it for running errands. The shoe is beautiful and comfortable. I like it a lot better than the regular Escalantes which feel more cushiony than I prefer.. the firmness and somewhat more minimalist feel of the Escalante Racers are great. Please never change how this shoe is designed!

They are the BEST I've ever had!!! Can't wait to get some for the rest of the family.

Absolutely love this shoe! I am a die hard altra fan but they knocked it out of the park on this shoe. Usually I have to clinch my forefoot lacing down tight as I have a narrow feet but these are perfect!!!!! the breathability in these babies is outstanding. Your feet will NOT get too hot in these. Super responsive mid sole. I am in love with these shoes!

I'm only 3 years into running but so very glad that I started in Altras. I switched to the Racers two years ago and am so spoiled that I won't wear any other shoe... except for a trail shoe in the rain since they offer more upper protection. I have standard width feet but the large toe box is a lifesaver for long and short distances, alike (5k to marathon). I've gotten lots of compliments on the black with orange/pink trim. Hope to see even more color options in years to come.

I had a stress fracture in my foot and my doctor told me about these sneakers, so I bought a pair and I am hooked. They are perfect for running and walking. I used to buy those other sneakers you can buy anywhere in stores, but these are the best. I will never buy anything again.

Because I have never had such comfortable shoes as Altras, when I received my first Altras, I thought I had ordered a size too large. In comparison with the shoes I had been used to the Altras are TERRIFIC, and my former shoes are like plastic prisons for my feet. I LOVE ALTRAS!!! I can't wait to be able to give Altras as gifts to my family. I highly recommend Altras. They are a MUST have for your feet; especially if you want to avoid problems later on in life.

Absolutely love these shoes for any distance. I used to run in the Escalante 1.5 but wanted a bit less cushion so gave these a try. This is now my second pair of Racers and I will never run in anything else. I've trained for and a run a marathon in them and they are so comfortable for every step. Keep in mind they take a few runs to break in (I had to keep the laces really loose for a while or else they felt too tight over the top of my foot) but since then they've been amazing. I also love how light weight they are. I spent years looking for the perfect running shoe as I struggled with knee injuries and I'm so glad I finally found them.

What's not to love? Since having ankle surgery this is the only brand of shoes I wear! Lots of support and very comfortable, even with a full ankle brace! 4th pair and never disappointed. I recommend every chance I get!

I wear these every day with orthotics, and these are the most comfortable shoes for my cranky feet. The toe box is perfectly designed, giving plenty of room to spread out my toes.

I am so glad I found these. They are fantastic! The only drawback is they are mesh so not great for super cold weather but I just make sure I wear really warm socks.

I run at least 3 times a week. I run 20-40 miles a week. I have also used my racers in different races from 5ks to marathon lengths. I have used other running shoes but the racers are my favorites. I like that I can feel the ground. Love my racers.

I feel great running in these shoes. I love the improvements made to the Escalante. I feel like they're very breathable and super comfortable.

I've struggled to find running shoes for what I call my "duck shape" feet. Altras are it! I've only worn these shoes twice, once to train and once for a Half Marathon. Exactly what I was looking for. Fast and light! I bought them to race. Not sure if I'd train in them

I have used the escalantes in track workouts and long distance running. Can't praise them enough as the feel light yet sturdy and sooo comfortable. The soft landing technology work wonders as it really reduces the impact of the foot into the ground. I bought them 1/2 size smaller because my size was not available and they fit perfectly. Super recommended

I have been using this for CrossFit which includes running and they are perfect! I wish there was an option on the site to be notified when my size is back in stock! I wanted to buy another pair in the black. Love the colorway and agree it would be great to have more options. I would buy other black options and want to rebuy the black CC you are selling now. Love these!!

I love my shoes. I have the black ones, but wish you would make more colors. Like light gray, a burgundy color, navy blue. I'll buy more of them if u did. Please!!!

This is my favorite shoe EVER! It's such an upgrade from the original escalate and escalate 2. I like that it's a firmer sole and has less give in the upper.

I am a new convert to altra running shoes and the escalante in particular. I was using another brand of low cushion running shoes and had ventured away from them as they kept changing the shoes. I was having horrible foot pain and realized it was the shoes I was wearing. I tried the escalante and my foot pain is gone. I would definitely buy them again. For anyone who like me in the past has gone up a 1/2 size in running shoes in other brands, you don't need to with the escalante. Your normal shoe size is just fine. Definitely will be buying these over and over.

The Altra Escalante is the best race shoe ever; just got another personal best in my 5K yesterday, under 24 minutes! Perfect amount of cushion and ground feel! I don't race in anything else.

With all the changes to the original Escalante, I was concerned to order these, not knowing if they were morphed into a racer that was nothing like the first. But these are my fifth pair of racers and they are still the same great shoe! I find them about a half a size smaller than the previous racers, making them true to size, in my estimation. I really like them. I wasn't sure about the color of the Altra emblem on the side of the shoe, but it turns out it reflects as a gray color, which is what I was hoping for from the picture. I am so happy to still have a shoe to purchase that remains crafted in the same fashion of the original racers. Thank you Altra for not changing the Escalante Racers while continuing to sell this most excellent shoe!! =)

Don't know how y'all did it, but these shoes are even better than before!!! They are true Altra fashion, they give my toes plenty of room without being too wide! The cushion feels dreamy! My legs do not get fatigued in these. Absolutely Perfect!

I've been wearing the Escalante Racer since it came out, and have lots of the marathon patterns. Which is funny, because I've never run more than three miles at a shot, but it's what they had. I'm so happy to have plain shoes now! I love the white with the blue-green sole - super summery. I prefer the Racer to the basic Escalante because the sole is stiffer and more springy, and the upper is a little more structured - the knit on the regular escalante can sometimes stretch out. I LOVE the light weight. These are just the best shoes, and I think they look sharp too!

The fit on this shoe is perfect. I love the wide toe box and zero drop. It's very light and thin so my feet can breathe on a long run. Only criticism is it would not be great on a wet run.

I bough Altra Escalante last year and they were good, so when I needed another running shoe, looked for the same one again. Found this one that is mesh. I did 6 miles today and I absolutely love it. I hope when I need another pair, Altra still has the same model.

I bought the Tokyo 19 racers about 6 months ago and do 8-9 mile runs on them 2-3 times a week and they're still going strong. Some of the tread is starting to naturally wear on the bottom, less than expected actually. I love the big mesh holes for ventilation. No holes or rips to the upper part of the shoe like I usually have at this point with other shoes. I'm very pleased with how well they're holding up. I would buy these again.
