These are a bit snug, but have stretch so I was happy with my normal size 8. For a thicker sock, you might want to try the wide for extra room since the length was spot on. Quick tip for those that have mentioned the zipper sliding down - it operates like many zippers on clothing - you have to press the upper part where the ring attaches flat against your ankle to "lock" it in place. Then you flip it back out to the side in order to unlock the zipper and slide it down. Thought I'd share in case it's helpful.

Perfect in every way. I am wearing these boots every day and everywhere. Long walks in the city, down the subway stairs, onto the city buses. You can't go wrong. Minor adjustment of the zipper will fix a small problem. Just pay attention to the zipper with a little extra tug and a firm push on the tab to ensure it is firmly in place.

Love the shoe--very comfortable. Only issue is zipper continuously falls down when walking. I am constantly pulling it up.

I really liked these boots, but unfortunately, the zippers on the side are not staying zipped. I'm not sure if it's the weight of the decorative "ring" zipper pull, but by the time I had walked a bit, the zippers were coming unzipped. This happened several times, and I'm returning them because of this.

Perfect fit & size and I love the style AND they're washable and stain resistant and WOW, I never knew about this brand Bzees. I stumbled upon it ! I almost always have to wear my orthotics in any shoe that's not a sandal because I need excellent arch support and cushioning and stability. These Bzees give me all of that ! I can't say enough good about them . I need to find out what the washing instructions are because I just got the ankle boots last week . Thanks Zappos !! :)

I wore these booties right out of the box for an eight hour day of standing and walking as a teacher. I would have given them a five star except that the right shoe rubbed on my ankle in two small spots. No blisters. This will heal but others, like me, might need some sort of leg protection for the where the zipper closure meets the skin. Other than that, the zipper fix to secure the zipper in place that another customer mentioned worked. I ordered the 9.5W and that fit like a glove. I've never purchased "fabric" shoes. I was always a "must use leather" type shopper. These booties have converted me. Comfortable. Warm enough. Cool enough. Instantly shaped to foot and stayed secure throughout the day. It said there was a removable insole but it was glued. Once detached, I easily inserted my Good Feet hugs orthotics and insoles. (Come to think of it, these could have contributed to the rubbing on the right.) As aways, love Zappos.

Unfortunately, this fit with no margin for heavy socks or my orthotics. Usually, when I order a size 9, there is room for my orthotics, at least. I also found that the side of the boot rubbed the inside of my ankle.

Love this bootie - comfortable right out of the box for a long walk to the movies. The leopard pattern adds character to any outfit, I don’t usually like animal prints but this one works. Not sure how durable to exterior fabric will be but affordable enough to find out... Yes the zipper falling is annoying, thanks to the other customers who gave tips, I’ll check it out. Super glad I found this brand.

I’m usually an 8.5 M but am tired of my (arthritic) toes feeling squished so tried W. Too big, but the top band of the boot was oddly tight above my ankle. This brand is new to me, so may try again, but I won’t reorder this style.

I wish the 9W had been wider at the toe, because I would have kept these shoes. I can't go to a 10, because my right foot would swim in that size. Too bad, because the little boots are cute / attractive / convenient.
