Good stable shoes. My 4 year old really enjoys them, says they are "light,grippy, fast and feel good." He did complain the first few days before they were broken in but now he loves them. Only thing of note is they are fraying around the top velcro area after only about 1 1/2 months or so of use. They are his main shoe so it makes sense but the rest of the shoe is strong and shows no signs of real wear yet. Used for climbing rocks, walking on trails, school playground and city street walking. Overall they are great shoes so far.

The shoes are great quality, no doubts, but they were a little tricky (narrow) to get in for my son. I am ordering 0.5 size up now from his regular size.

Haven't had these for long, but so far they seem like great shoes.

It has great support for all the jumping kids do. I got a size 6 and it is much larger than a size 6 in other brands. Even if worn with hiking socks, it is still large. Otherwise, happy with purchase/

My 8 year old has only been wearing these for three months. He's very active and we live in the mountains. He hikes in them regularly. They are already falling apart. The insole in one shoe has come out and the backs on the inside by his heels are wearing through. I'm disappointed. I've had cheaper shoes last much longer for him. If you plan to wear them occasionally for hiking, they'd probably he okay. They are not for regular wear or very active hikers. They do wash nicely and look great with great traction.

My son has wore them out and about, playing outside, and on a recent camping/hiking trip. He says they are not as comfortable as his other sneakers because they don't flex as much in the toe. Light water resistant (morning dew or light shower) but definitely not waterproof. They do have good grip for hiking some tough terrain.

I bought these for my 4 year old daughter, who is very hard on shoes, thinking they would hold up better than constantly buying cheaper brand sneakers. She came home from a day of playing in the park with her preschool with the elastic lace broken and the rubber part of the shoe separating from the cloth part on the side. We've only had the shoes about 3 weeks. Still deciding if it was just a defective pair and will try again or if we will just try a different brand. My daughter loved these shoes so I'm sad they've just fallen apart!

I love the look of the shoes but the wide was not a true wide. I have two children with the same size foot and neither could wear these because the shoes hurt their pinky toes.

I didnt research this shoe before buying as much as i should have. The shoe is extremely heavy, especially for the price and brand name. It is marketed as a playground shoe, but this is a very heavy playground shoe and should not be marketed as such. i wouldn't recommend this for children 6 and younger and neither should Merrell. For older children, this is a very well made, excellent shoe .

I love these shoes, and this is the 3rd. pair I have purchased for my son. Unfortunately, he has worn them for less than a month and the sole that wraps up to the big toe is already coming away from the fabric. I am disappointed for the 1st time with Merrell

Generally speaking, we like the sneaker. It is comfortable and considerably more waterproof than expected (this is sold as the washable, not the waterproof model). However, the plastic loop which the velcro strap wraps around is seriously under-engineered and broke after just a week of use. It was easy enough to fashion a metal loop and get back out on the playground, but it I expect better from a pair of Merrells

Bought this shoe 6 months ago for a 9 year old. Sole has a big hole and it's flopping out!

Bungee lace broke after 4 days. Did send back for a new pair. Hoping the replacement lasts longer

These shoes were the same size my grandson always wears but were so small he couldn't even get his foot into them. I returned them.

A hole already and worn by my 4 year-old for a mere 2 weeks!
