I have foot problems could only wear the ariel 18 was told the company discontinued the shoe. why discontinue a shoe that was not a problem. will this company consider adding the Ariel 18 without Changes you could always add more versions without discontinuing a shoe for the ones that could wear the ariel 18 it should have stayed on stock? with no changes. including the rollbar. I already know you're not bringing the shoe back. Change is not good for everyone when it comes to shoes. it become a problem for the person and uncomfortable. You was able to wear and now not able to wear or walk in the shoe. your already limited due to surgery on your feet. I had to purchase the Ariel 20 that is non supportive all over. the cloth is very weak and no support . Even the guard rail is not supportive as the rollbar .The Ariel 18 should not have been discontinued. The material of the Ariel 20 is thin with 0 support

I needed a stable shoe for overpronation. I had heard good things about Brooks, so I went to a specialty shoe store and got a pair of Ariel tennis shoes. I bought them in late January. I only wear them at my second job as an online shopper. I know I get a lot of steps in, but I didn't expect holes to be worn in the side of the shoe by the laces. There is also a tear in the foot opening of the shoe. I spent half the money on a pair of Skechers and they lasted three times as long. My husband also bought a pair of Brooks and the inner heel of his shoes is wearing through so he has several holes in them. I don't think we will be buying Brooks again.

I use these shoes for casual, every day use. I have foot pain, low arches and over pronate like no ones business. These shoes hurt. I have new pain in my toes and in my ankles and then on top of that the old pain is BACK even with inserts (after I tried them as is for a week or so). Then, to top it off, I've only had the shoes for 4 months and the stitching is tearing and so is some of the fabric. I always untie my laces and treat my shoes well so that last, but I'm very dissatisfied in these shoes which is a shame because I was so hopeful and excited. I will never buy Brooks again.

While I LOVED the color on these, they are definitely NOT as comfortable as my "18" are. I was told the color and weave have something to do with the fit of the shoe. These ones "20" have done nothing but hurt my feet from day one. This is why i quit wearing the Ghost. I buy the same size in everything 10.5 D.

I've worn Ariels since they were called Brooks beast for women. It was so nice to go in every few months and just pick up my new pair without even trying them on. When the 16s came out though they changed so much I had to buy up all the 14s in my size I could everywhere to hold me over. I'm out now and the 18 and 20 are still not working for me. The 20s that I have the heel is not narrow enough so it slips. I have the laces so high and tight it hurts. The shoes also wear our so quick too. Please bring back the sturdy structure and solid performance of the 14 and before!!!!

Have been buying these shoes for years. Shoe sizing has changed in a big way. Much wider than in years past. If you have narrow feet (I do) don't even think of buying these. Also the cushioning on the sole isn't what it was. I must have put them away, unworn, and forgot about them. Just took them out and remembered how much they didn't fit right. I just missed the very generous Zappos return window. My fault. Not sure why I didn't just return them straightaway. I'll try to put some inner soles in to beef up the cushioning and wear thicker sox so I can get a bit of wear out of them. Not sure what to order in future as these were originally recommended by a podiatrist. Need to find a replacement that will accommodate my custom orthotics and have the right kind of support. Sigh.

I have been buying and wearing Brooks Ariel shoes for more than 20 years. I order my usual size, 7 D and found them much too small and tight. Has the sizing changed?

I have loved wearing Brooks Ariels since Ariel 14, but the reshaped toe on the Ariel 20 makes them fit completely different. They felt small and hurt the sides of my big toes. I am returning them as I cannot wear them. Please, Brooks, go back to the previous design.

I hate this shoe. It is too tight and very hard to get on. It is very uncomfortable. If it was the first pair I bought I wouldn't have bought another pair!

Very shallow heel cup, no flex, which I now know is intentional. All in all the single most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever tried on.

Unfortunately, Ariel 20, does not provide support and over-pronation help like previous Ariel shoes. Toe box smaller too. Very disappointing.

I thought that the shoe ran short. I also felt as tho the toe bed was not as roomy as in past years. I even ordered a size bigger hoping that would do the trick but they were too big. So frustrating. Why did the 2018 style have to change?!

I've worn the Beast/Ariel model for years. It has come recommended by several podiatrists. The 20 model, other than being the lightest ever, is otherwise totally unwearable for me. You've ruined it.

There was no arch support in Ariel 20.I usually wear Ariel 18, they had the best support for flat feet. Too bad Brooks changed that whole support system, completely changed the sneaker.

I have worn Ariels for years and buy several times a year. Please go back to the arch support/sole of the past Ariel 18 and before. I have to find a new shoe now.

I was looking for a walking shoe because I have issues with my ankle, and can no longer run without feeling something pulling. I walk an average of 5 to 8 miles per day, and wanted something that would provide cushion and support. These do provide cushion, support, and are lightweight as advertised. The big con for me is that they have so much cushion that there is no bend to them. It feels like I have cement blocks on my feet minus the weight. Since the shoes does not bend, I find that they are causing me to trip at times. I have averaged over 40 miles wearing them to try and break them in, and nothing. I do not recommend them if you are someone who walks long distances. These may work if you want to wear them to the store, are on your feet standing in one spot, or are walking less than a mile. I do not recommend these for long distances.

Had to trash these early. My toes were touching the end of the shoe. I was worried about injury to my feet. Very comfortable otherwise. I went to a running store and they said since the toe box is very rounded it causes it to fit smaller. I normally wear a 10.5 and these were an 11. Nice shoe but go UP a half size if you like them!

I have been wearing the last few versions of Ariel. I loved the 16s and 18s. I have worn these new 20s for a couple of weeks and my feet, particularly my arches, hurt when I wear them because the shoes aren't supportive in the middle part of the shoe. I had to tie them so tightly that the fabric bunched and there was still no support. This is kind of crazy because I wear a medical orthotic. So it's the changes in the shoe. The heels are too big. I was going to try to get the regular width but honestly I think it's just that the overall arch support has been downgraded. I found the 18s in my size on another site and bought 2 pairs. At least I'll have some shoes to wear. They ruined the last version of the Addiction and now they've ruined the Ariel. Sigh. They are being returned. It's too bad because Ariels are so cushiony.

Love these shoes! I have average-width feet but narrow heels; I also need a slightly larger toe box, and I overpronate. My old standby shoe, Saucony's Redeemer, was discontinued and their newer shoes were all too narrow in the toe box for me and had less support for my overpronation. I tried lots and lots of shoes, even Hoka brand. The Ariel '20 was the best, even if I did have to go up 1/2 size for comfort, which I rarely do. It was worth it, though. These are great for walking the dog and all-day use.

The shoe is comfortable for long walks. (I'm not a runner. This style and brand were recommended by a podiatrist after I had a long bout of plantar fasciitis! No problem since I started wearing Brooks Ariel a year and a half ago.) This is my 4th pair.
