My second pair, completely wore out the first to the point of holes in the top. While this body doesnt run, the Ariels soft top and wide toe box is comfortable for my bunion and feet wrecked by years in pointy toed heels. They also fit nice and snug against a narrower heel and help with my over pronation.

Ive bought this sneaker; the sole materia are peeling off and the back of the heel cushion ; its uncomfortable. I owned a least 20 pairs of brooks so far this ones a the least that Ive wear, 7or 10 times ; they re wearing the most, compare with rest models.

These shoes allow for me to wear an ASO (Ankle Stabilizing orthotic--made of fabric with velco straps and laces) in my usual size on one foot so that the other foot is not in a shoe too large. While not as supportive as the leather Brooks Addiction walkers I usually wear, it is good to have a lighter-weight change of pace.

Great shoe. I love the Ariel style because I have flat feet that overpronate. I only gave it a 4 because for some reason the bottom is very slippery. I use these on a treadmill. I've been sanding down the sole of the shoe, but it still is a little slippery. I periodically hold on to the side handle of the treadmill as I am afraid that I will slip and fall.

My doctor recommended these shoes. I was pretty skeptical and then I put them on. I havent been without foot pain for years, but these shoes within a week made it possible

The shoe is OK, but not the best of Brooks. The first issue is putting it on. The back has no pull string, so the cushioning for the back (the purple part) folds into the shoe every time you put it on. I have to say that the cushioning top of the heel portion feels great once you get it on, however, your heel always pushes it down into the shoe.
The shoe feels wide. I am not sure why. I have several Brooks shoes that fit me perfectly, just this one is made a bit differently.
I did have to put in an orthotic for the arch- however, that is because I have flat-footed like a duck.
Lacing is strange. When you lace the shoe, there is no spacing when you get to the end. They have an area where you can lace the shoe to one of 3 positions. If you only use one of the positions, the laces are WAY too long; if you lace it so that you use 2 of the 3 positions, it has a lot of lace at the end.
So I am giving this 4 out of 5 stars.

After the redesign of the latest Adrenaline (22) left them much less comfortable for my flat feet, I decided to try the Ariel. Big mistake. I wore them one day, just walking in my day to day life, about 1.9 miles, and promptly got a stone bruise on the ball of my foot that has taken a week to heal. The lining of the Ariel does feel very cushiony, but beneath that the structure is like walking on concrete; it didnt provide any bounce or protection from the actual metal & concrete I was walking on.

Support is great but I wish they were a little lighter. Snug through the mid foot but I guess thats for support. But please make better colors! The only pretty one is the peacock. Gray and black are ugly. Would buy more if color selection was better.

I wanted these to work but the guiderails cut into my tendons under the ankle bone and in the Achilles tendon, back of heel area. Very painful! I don't have this problem with Brooks Ghost. Ghost doesn't have the guiderails (GTS) construction. Wish Brooks would make a stability shoe without guiderails like New Balance and other manufacturers do. A wide deep ROUNDED toe box would be nice too.

It has very good support but it runs smaller comparing to the other model. Therefore I have to return it.

I like the support and stability of the shoe. I'm disappointed at how easily the material stains (even water marks from wet grass) and cannot get them clean.

When I slide my foot into the shoe, the back collapses, like on many shoe styles. However, when I insert my finger between the shoe and foot to straighten it out, the material is persistent in wanting to stay folded … very difficult to straighten out without removing the shoe.

I love the aerial 20. My doctor recommended them to me after a surgery that I had. I also have arthritis and they seem to be the only shoes I can wear right now I love that they have guard rails in them and theyre very sturdy and they keep my feet in position, but not uncomfortably.

These sneakers are comfortable. They are supportive and provide enough cushion. I have the wide width and they are true to size. They are also fairly light which is nice. I do prefer my Glycerins because they are even lighter.

Great shoe for severe overpronators. Aesthetically, it leaves a bit to be desired. Same motion control with more cushioning would be great.

First, I am 47 and have the feet of someone who has had a hard life. Genetics gave me which fold inward and severe bunions. In most shoes Ive ever purchased, I wear band-aids and a gel sleeve to avoid walking the skin, literally walking the skin off the ball or pad of my foot; however, with these shoes for the first time in my adult life, I can walk, run, hike for miles without issue. These shoes have taken me through the rain forest in Costa Rica to hiking the red rocks in Arizona. Im a lifer!! Please never change the structure, but some cuter colors would be nice

I'm not a runner, but I like the Ariel '20 shoe for everyday wear. I have very bad feet, so I need a quality shoe that accomodates my orthotics too. Also, I am better off having traded one pair of the 2 pair I originally bought in the D width for the extra wide, as the EE is a much better fit for me. I am hoping there will be additional colors available since I need another pair for rotating into my wear. I will also be interested in how well the shoes age because I have to have a shoe that is very supportive beyond 90 days.

Super comfy shoe! My favorite Brooks style now. I?ve had a number of toe surgeries and this shoe has good support, and stability plus good cushioning. At 75 I don?t run but like them for long walks with my husband. My only somewhat complaint is that I wish the back of the shoe came a up a little higher. It is a bit hard to pull on for older fingers.

Ariel 20 - I've been wearing Brooks for about 8+ years, just after I started running half marathons. Just completed my 20th half and can't say enough about these Ariel 20's.
I've recently been diagnosed with Osteopenia & Osteoarthritis so running comfortably has been an issue. With the help of KT tape and the support/comfort of these Brooks I survived with minimal pain and zero blisters!
They did run a 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear and are a tad heavy - but quick shipping size exchange was made and I over-all felt good.
Please keep this style around!
