Replaced a Brooks competitor shoe with the beast. The beast is very supportive and more comfortable. I am recovering from a foot injury. Thanks in part to the comfort and stability (Motion control) of the beast. Thank you

you are making a big mistake by referring to the Beast as a "WALKING SHOE"--I assume that this is an error which will be corrected. It has been historically a running shoe and a good one.

They felt longer in length than other Brooks shoes of the same size. They are not as cushioned as I expected.

Instant relief for heel and knee discomfort. Design has changed, but it?s still the same great shoe. I?ve owned Beasts for many years, and I?ve never been dissatisfied.

I have been wearing the Brooks Beast for decades. The wide toe box, great support and good durability are all the things I really like. They are getting a bit expensive but my knees thank me. I have the ‘20 version.

By far the best shoe for my very flat feet and they allow me to get my 3-4 miles in almost every day. Super comfortable and almost want to make them my daily wear :)

The comfort of the shoe from the toe to the heel was just what I was looking for - I walk four miles a day 6 days a week and for years I have worn the Brooks running shoes, which i love, but they were not the best for the long amount of walking that I was doing everyday - I saw the Beast on a Brooks advertisement and thought that is what I need to try - They were exactly what I needed for my walks

The lateral side impinges a little on the pinkie toe. I?ve been wearing the Beast for several years. The older models did not seem to annoy the little toe. The heel fit and the stability is terrific.

Like many others, I have had several years of Beasts and most have been great. The 16s toe box was too small and the ankle collar on the 18s snagged and ran way too easily. The 20s are definitely lighter yet just as or even more supportive. Quite a bit of cushion as well. As a big person, they will be extremely functional for me. From a styling and wear perspective I have a few thoughts. The exterior front toe area went from a rugged rubbery component on the 18s to a nylon like material on the 20s. I hope this holds up. The ankle collar seems to be improved with a more durable fabric. I would prefer less white on a black shoe, but that seems to be a trend. Two things I would have definitely changed with the styling is the "Beast" print in the white part of the shoe. I don't mind you advertising Brooks, but why the Beast? Finally, why the big 20 on the back, I can't get over the feeling that they are bowling shoes. (Note: I purchased 15s the list below only went up to 12.5)

I've been a very loyal Brooks Beast and Addictions wearer for two decades and was concerned about the Beast 20 change from a medial post to the new GuideRails. It did take a few runs to get used to the Beast 20, but I do find the new model to be much lighter with a smoother ride and enough stability. However, the shoe rides much differently and does not feel as stable compared to the previous Beast and current Addictions, so others might have a different experience! Hopefully, Brooks will continue to sell the Addictions with the extended medial posts into future years so severe overpronators will have a choice between new GuideRails technology and the tried and true posts. However, it's worth a try and Brooks has a generous return policy if you'd like to switch to the Addictions.

If you are a Beast fan and you order the black color or Ebony color you will discover that they fit narrow. The grey color fits me great. True to size and width(2E). The dark colors are totally different. Beware.

Great for old guys with flat feet who wear orthotics. I have purchased 7 or 8 pairs of these shoes. Would not wear any other shore.

They don't work. I need medial support, and the guiderails don't offer this. The midsole below, is still getting crushed on the inside - the rail just moves with my foot, on top of the sole. To use the analogy of the bowling lane, with bumpers, it's like the whole bowling lane sitting on a foundation of jello. It's a shame that Brooks don't have options - they've moved the whole range to guiderails, leaving me no option but to look elsewhere for new shoes (what happened to giving customers a choice?).

Either my feet have spread faster than usual, or they are making shoes ,like clothing ,smaller to save money. Zappos are the best at exchanging. Great customer service I have bought the D in the past and 2 years later I am wearing 4E. I hope Brooks keeps making the 4 E. The Beast is great. Lighter than the last generation and the guys at work liked the stying too. (I am female, but have wear mens for width). ghey
I'd also recommend:

I was just about to replace my old beast 18's when these were released. I made the plunge and am happy that I did so. The new guiderails seem to work really well and help provide me with the additional support that I need. I have been running Brooks for over 21 years and they have never disappointed me. These beast 20's are no exception, they feel great and have loads of cushioning. In my opinion Brooks are still the king of the mountain when it comes to running shoes.

I have been wearing Brooks Beasts since 2010 and my last version I own are the 16's. With the release of the 18's I was very disappointed. Brooks didn't even change the mid-sole? Now Brooks is taking a different approach with Motion Control. In lieu of a firmer medial side mid-sole, they have included these 'guide-rails' as is the case on several other Brooks models. The 20's do fell a bit different than my 16's and they are still quite firm in the cushioning dept. Upper is better than the 16 & 18's, however the support is pretty weak and the color choices are the exact same as the 18's? The Beast designers must be pretty low on the totem pole at Brooks because it seems not much effort was put into the design of these. Kind of like the 18's. Brooks designers, if you're listening: You don't have to try and re-invent the wheel with this shoe. You used to have a very loyal following. But now, who knows?
