People wear the Beast bc it's basically their only option for stability & width--not bc it's sexy (it's not). Flat-footed low-arch people buy this shoe religiously, without hesitation. So WHY would you change the formula for less stability & width? If I wanted that, I could buy literally ANY other shoe in existence!! I haven't run in the '20, but tried them on in-store. Right away, I see that the base of the 2e Wide width is actually narrower than my old standard D width '18s. What the heck? On my feet, I immediately felt there was less firmness/support, and less arch support. It is lighter, which I understand is a benefit on long multi-hour runs. But how many Beast-wearers are marathon runners? And the lightness also feels kinda "cheaper", which I assume is true after reading reviews about the '20s falling apart faster than older versions.

Barley had them a month and there is a hole in the toe! These shoes cost too much money for this to happen. Have returned them. Very unhappy with the quality!

I have been wearing Beast shoes for many years and I am disappointed with the last pair I purchase ('20s). The '18s that I had were great and held up very well. This current re-design seemed to take out the structure that made the past shoes very stable for this large man. I dont run but I wear them every day for everyday shoes, and the '18s I had lasted over almost 2 years before the soles broke down under my weight, now I have has the '20s for a year (a year I barely left the house mind you) I am already looking to replace them. Please bring back the heavy duty Beast!!

I returned them because I didn't think they compared to my 2018 Beast. From the webbing on the outside to the thin laces I didn't like them. Sorry

I had to send them back, and so far they haven't given me credit.. Seems like the new brooks beast is made bigger than they have been in the past.. which is a good thing , I just wasn't ready for that.

Feels like I am walking flat footed. Different construction than my favorite Beast 18. Not comfortable.

I've been a loyal Beast fan for a decade plus. Here's what I don't understand: Brand loyalty is usually related to dependability. If you can depend on a particular product or item to perform the same way or offer the same positive experience, comfort or quality, you will likely return again and again to that product. The Beast is not a fashion item. It is beloved tool of runners and walkers who depend on the shoe to offer reliable stability, support and comfort. I would love to know how many Beast owners are return customers. I bet the majority. So I can't understand why Brooks keeps messing with this shoe. Every year or so there is a revamped Beast. Regardless, I've more or less had the same experience with it even though I always thought - "why are they changing it, it was fine." But the Beast 20 is incredibly uncomfortable and the quality has taken a dive. The shoe feels cheaper, the fit is different (shorter in the toe area), and the tongue is also shorter so the lace up does not feel as firm. The shoe rubs uncomfortably at my ankles which has never happened before. My Beast 18s are trashed but I haven 't thrown them away as a I usually do when I get a new pair - I'm keeping them because even trashed they are still better than this new shoe. I am deeply saddened because after all these years of being a Beast fanatic, the company has succeeded in running me off. I've lost the faith and probably won't stick around to be disappointed by the Beast 21. Brooks. I'm begging you. Stop trying to invent the wheel. Bring back the old BEAST.

I've had them for about six months and the fabric/lining near the ankles is torn and exposing the inner material of the shoes on both shoes. Pretty disappointed considering the amount I paid for them at the time.

They've ruined the Brooks Beast! :-( I've been running in Beats since 2011. Being a heavier runner, the Brooks Beasts were the only shoes that kept my shins from being on fire. I'd only feel something when it was time to swap out the shoe. I used 2-3 pairs at a time, so they lasted quite well. Unable to find the 18s, I tried the '20s. I wish they'd given this shoe another name, because this isn't the kind of shoe I've worn for 9 years. Hopefully, they'll relent and at least make the 18s or even 16s again, so some of us have options.

I own the Brooks Addiction 14 and love the space it has for my toes. In fact, I plan to buy multiple pairs of them. I decided to try the Brooks Beast 20 for a bit more cushioning when working on my feet all day. I definitely feel the additional cushion but it feels one size too short. I would need to go up one full size to have more big toe space. Since I wear a size 16, which unfortunately is the largest size Brooks makes, I'll have to look for another brand for top of the line cushioning options. I'll keep wearing the Brooks Addiction 14 though which luckily has barely adequate cushioning to get me through 8 hours of work without my feet hurting.

These shoes are incredibly squeaky. It's not the sole...it's something to do with the construction. Every single step makes noise. Last pair of Brooks were great. These suck! Will be getting a less expensive pair of Brooks or I'll go back to New Balance.

The comfort was as my podiatrist advertised. For three weeks! Post Achilles surgery rehab which consisted of walk and the right shoe collapsed on the outside. Pretty pricy product for three weeks of comfort. Hard to imagine ever trusting a shoe from Brooks again, when it couldn't do less than it advertised. Keeping my Podiatrist, not the broken shoe.

Very disappointed in the Beast 20 durability. I have two pairs that I rotate. The grays were purchased about 6 months ago and the blacks about one month or so ago. I have not run on these shoes and only use them for walking and light jog on my treadmill. I never have worn them casually. As you can see the grays have significantly broke down on the inside rim and the blacks are already starting to fray. If I had seen the wear on the the grays I never would have purchased the blacks. I walk on the treadmill two days a week and rotate these shoes. I bike on the off days and do not use the the Beast. I've been a loyal Beast wearer since the mid 90s when I was a runner and was not disappointed, until now. I see from other reviews that I'm not the only one that has experienced this problem. I won't be buying another Brooks shoe until this design flaw has been resolved.

I've been wearing Beasts for over a decade now. I need a motion control plus shoe, because, as my physical therapist put it, I am a "plus-size" runner with flat feet. Be very careful with the 2020 model. It's NOT as stiff and resistant to over-pronation as previous models. Apparently Brooks decided to make the shoe "lighter" and more cushioned. Laudable goals, but when you weaken the purpose of the shoe (stopping over-pronation for heavy, beast-like runners), you turn the shoe into the same light-weight, cushioned shoes that simply don't work for plus-size runners. There are hundreds of light and cushioned shoes on the market; we don't need another. Bring back the Beast please.

Not impressed by the support these shoes provide. I bought the 4E and am disappointed with the fit and how flimsy they feel. Should have stuck with the GTS 20, far more support and don't feel as cheap

The change from ?18 to the ?20 was hugely disappointing. The rigid stability of the Beast no longer holds up try to find the 18s online and buy those. It used to be worth the price but not anymore- feels cheaper and cheaper with each purchase.

Been wearing the Beast for over 10 years. This is by far the worst Beast I have ever owe. After owning a pair for around 2 weeks the stitching started coming out. Took the shoes back and wanted to get the 18 Beast which was a far better shoe. Store didn't have a 18. Store wouldn't credit me so went home with the Beast 20. Had them for about a month and my feet hurt bad. Too much room in the toe area.

This is my first pair of running/ walking shoes from Brooks. Not very pleased overall. My comfort expectation was higher and while these were the most expensive running shoes I have ever purchased they unfortunately are not the most comfortable. They are heavy and very clunky
