This shoe has a stitched ridge that runs over the top of the instep. I returned them. I needed a wider toe box.

The Beast looks good. Unfortunately, the quality has diminished with this version. After two months the seams began to separate from the soles. My past beasts gave me many months of good support. Hopefully Brooks will read the reviews and make some adjustments. The Beast is a great shoe out of the box.

Needed to replace a pair GTS Adrenaline's that took a real Covid beating in 6 months. (see photos) Called and decided to try stepping up to the BEAST but it turned out to have too much support and cushioning for a person with naturally flat and wide feet. It caused pain on the top of the ankle and along the inside arch area of one foot. I went online and ordered a pair Adrenaline GTS 20s and its almost like heaven. Love Brooks shoes but will have to return the BEAST.

I am a Brooks Beast fan. I ordered and used for two runs. I have never had problems with previous Beast running shoes. Blisters on both occasions due to the small toe box. I read the comments regarding the toe box for and for me, it is true. Called Zappos and the customer service was beyond excellent, it was the best I have received from any on-line retailer. They immediately shipped the same shoe in gray as the comments indicate the gray has a wider toe box. Zappos is the best.

Three stars due to really nice quality shoe; top notch materials and nicely finished. My son is a severe over pronator, and his favorite shoe is no longer made. He has tried several brands/models and the Beast was one of them. For him, the Beast was hard on his knees and the support for his over pronation too stiff. He did think the cushioning was very good though, which is important for over pronators.

I love my Beast '18 and want to buy another. But the white sole (instead of grey and black) on the '20 makes this shoe less acceptable for everyday wear. Why did you make this change? Garland Allen, Santa Monica, CA

Not liking the new trend in Brooks where the shoes are being Made of mostly seamless fabric. There is increasingly less forefoot stability. The new Beast 20 is much lighter and almost feels cheap. I have several pair of Beast models and the latest definitely offers less support. I have had mine for 3 weeks and I am contemplating putting my custom orthotics in to give more stability. As a physical therapist I frequently change my patients? shoes for many different ailments. For motion control shoes the Beast has always been my first choice personally and for my patients. With this new version I believe they have fallen back to the pack.

Much prefer the previous 3 versions. This one feels like the toe box is wider, which makes it feel less stable overall. This version does look more stylish.

Nothing exciting. It's a shoe. I just hope the toe holds up longer then my past Brooks shoes. All have opened at above toe area.

Nice enough shoe for heavy pronation issues but Hoka has more lateral heel stability.

I've worn the beast for a few years. I like the old model better which I still wear from time to time. It's just the overall feel that I like. I feel the 20 is too cushiony Thanks John Haggerty

Since you stoped production of the Beast 14, your quality is going down. The new grey is too blue making it look cheap. In addition, the support is not nearly as good.My suggestion is to reproduce the Beast 14 and raise the price if necessary . So happy I bought 5 Beast 14s.

The 20 is redesigned ( i was told for stability) but is appears to be cheaper..... earlier models seem to support me better than the 20. I purchased the beast years back because it was the only shoe that
would support my flat feet. It had provided a solid platform for my feet to help prevent ankle roll over.

Way too bulky for people with certain needs, like me. Not particularly attractive, either. May be OK for people whose gait doesn't need much improvement.

I purchased this type of shoe for support. The support is not as supportive as in the previous shoes I have purchase by Brooks. I have been wearing Brooks running shoes for the past 20 years. This is the first pair of Brooks running shoe that I have that is starting to show wear within three months. My shoes normally last for 9 to 12 months. I usually work out 3 to 4 days a week and only wear my Brooks shoes when working out.
