The Beast is what it is, and I've come to appreciate that. I used to run in the Addiction as I need a stability shoe, but the latest version of that just doesn't fit my foot. I tried the HOKA Gaviota for a while but their newer versions didn't fit either. I had avoided the Beast because the name seems to imply it's made for a heavier person, which I am not. But now it's all I run in. It's a somewhat heavy stability shoe with a decent width. Honestly it's the only shoe I feel comfortable in right now. I'm not in a hurry to try the new model, either, as these so-called upgrades don't always do right for me. But I lean toward Brooks whenever I can.

Sole flattens out and becomes unstable after a few hundred miles. Great shoe for a few weeks, after that's only mediocre.

I will be wearing them once the weather turns from cold and rainy for my walking exercise. Can't run any longer with 2 fake knees. I have worn them around the house for indoor walking and found the heel strike to quite a bit harder on my hardwood floors than my Ghost 15s. Maybe it will soften up once I hit the trails and pavement and put a few miles on them. Otherwise, the fit is great and the shoe is very supportive and comfortable. I use a custom orthotic insert for arch support and they fit in very well.

Wanted to use on my road bike but size too big as toe hit wheel when turning. Ordered half size bigger to lessen hammer toe pain.

Sadly, I took off a star (and was tempted to take off more) because the mesh is breaking near my bunion after not much use. This seems to be a pattern with Brooks shoes that I've owned, even though the toe box has extra space in it (9.5EE). These have sat in my travel bag most of the time since I bought them a year ago. I've really worn them only for walks about an hour a day and then only during the past few months. I like that the material is stretchy, but I wish it were stronger, especially for the price. I kept 4 stars because I appreciate that Brooks makes shoes with a wide enough toe box for me that have good support. I size up a full size because they run small and I like having a little room for my toes.

Unfortunately the Brooks Beast is too narrow compared to my last pair. I will need to return. The size chart suggested size 12.5 2E width. Should have gone with the 4E width.

Nice shoe. I love the support and soft, cushioning sole.

Overall, a decent stability running shoe. It pales in comparison to The Beast 18, but Brooks won't make that shoe anymore. How about bringing back "The Classic Beast"? You would sell tons of them.

The Men's Beast size 9.5 is an excellent shoe for working out at the gym , as well as outdoors . The beast gives support , comfort for Pes Planus ( flat feet ) persons . I would give the Beast 20 a 5 star if color was better and shoe laces are too long and price could be better for more people to afford .

Great shoes. These are the first pair of running shoes I have purchased. I am a novice runner and they have made an incredible difference in my performance already.

Overall a good fit. Having problem with arch on the left shoe as I have a lower arch on that foot. Trying to resolve with different pads.

I've been a fan of the beast for some time. I am 6'3" 250 lb and this is the best shoe for a big person. Had several pairs over the years and have found this most recent pair difficult to get broke in from new. Would love to see some increased style options but overall it is a quality shoe.

Shoes are very comfortable and alleviate pain in my knee and feet from old sports injuries but the shoes deteriorate after 6 months or so. I have bought 20+ pairs of brooks but I wish they lasted longer

They are comfortable but they are not as wide as I was hoping for! If you are getting the 4E I would recommend going up a full size at least - these have that traditional tapered shoe toe area and so the wide width doesn't get maintained at the top. They are stable and comfortable to walk in. Not heavy but not lite either.

The top edge around the ankle tends to wear a lot faster than the rest of the shoe.

Comfortable but not as comfortable as my Ghost 14 and 15 shoes which feels like it has more cushion at the heel. Definitely better construction than my older Adrenaline GTS that split apart at the heal seam.
