Brooks The Beast have excellent stability for low arch support, and guiderails to keep your feet from moving around inside the shoe. They are well-worth the cost for the support and the looks are cool as well. Quality is very high.

I see why other reviewers marked this as a bad year for the Beast Product line from Brooks. This is a bummer because I really wanted it to work out. Sending them back.

My second pair of Beasts. Very durable and comfortable. But, I do not run or jog. These are for all purpose use because I have very flat feet. They help.

Very comfortable walking in them whether on a hard surface or in the woods.

The shoes fit well. I have been wearing the Brooks Beast model for several years and find this is the best shoe for me. I have tried several other brands along with other Brooks models and have determined that the Beast has the durability, features, and wearability I require.

Yes, the Beast over the last few generations sucks. It got worse over several iterations, but the latest models have none of what I started buying the Beast for at least 20 years ago. It was the best anti-pronation shoe anywhere, and now it feels just like any other. I wear older models that I still have, despite their being worn, and I can walk briskly up very steep hills, run or walk through the woods, etc. without any knee pain of feeling of instability whatsoever. The newer models, of which I have the last few generations, feel squishy, allow my feet to roll unlike past models, and really should not be called by the same name. Not sure what options there are in other shoes, but I have finally concluded after a painless walk in an older model after continuous pain in my feet and knees over the last few days, that this ain't it.

30 years ago bought brooks beasts at the recommendation of an orthopeidic surgeon for treatment of pantar faciitis ("Scotty Pippen disease") and have bought another pair every one/two years since. Perfect in all respects. Never have experienced another related foot problem.

The Brooks Beast 20 in charcoal, red & white is a beautiful shoe! It’s structural support for my over pronation is very good. Deep groove bottom traction is spot on. My 4th pair of The Beast shoes and loving them!

Shoe fell short of desired arch support. As an over-pronater with flat feet, I need greater arch support. Older versions of Beast (pre '20) preferred.
I'd also recommend:
Older versions of Brooks Beast.

Fit was true to size. Bought this shoe for the anti pronating feature. Hubby only had them a week but comfort right out of the box. Good shoes are always worth it. If your feet are not in the right position it throws the rest of your frame off. You may not be liking the price...I didn't either but what do you do. Bottom line take care of your feet - you don't know how great your feet are until something is wrong with them.

I over pronate, I am flat footed and weigh 240 pounds with past gout deformity. I am a heavy strider when I walk. The only athletic shoe on the market that I can wear. They average 300 miles or 3.5 months before needing replacement.

The shoes felt good but when I wore it and walked with it, the right front forward side where my large toe is was tight and it injured my toe due to the nail being pressed into the flesh. This needed a mini medical procedure to remove the nail. I have not used the shoe more than twice!!

Compared to what the Beast used to be, the 20 Beast should not be sold under that name. I've worn the Beast for 12 years. They were the best structured shoe anywhere. The 18 Beast and earlier had a highly supportive heal cup and a double-ply medial ankle support. That is all gone. The 20 B has what today they market as 'guiderails'. The shoe is now squishy, soft everywhere, and unsupportive--my ankles ache in they after 20 min utes. It was a mistake to redesign it so poorly and still call it the Beast. Brook's offered to exchange for another shoe but they no longer make one that works for me.

I like the quality and feel of my Brooks “Beast 20” running shoes. They fit perfectly, and I wear them every day! I have been wearing Brooks Beast shoes since 2011. I used to have problems with foot pain prior to purchasing my first pair. I had severe over pronation problems that caused severe pain in my foot when wearing other running shoes. Since I started wearing the Brooks Beast shoes, I have not had this problem. My “Beast 20” running shoes provide impressive arch support, great comfort, and they look great on my feet. The “Beast 20” shoes are not the same quality as some my past Beast shoes, but they are comfortable enough for me to wear. Now, I wear a larger size Brooks Beast shoe than I used to wear in the past.

I’ve worn the Beast for many years due to SEVERE flat foot issues. I used to run but don’t anymore. Back in the day my running store suggested these to me and I’ve worn them ever since and found them comfortable and supportive. However this past year I picked up the Beast ‘20 in a 2E and have found it not supportive at all. I’ve been trying to find inserts to work with it and make my foot feel cradled like it has in other shoes past. I’m not sure if my error was buying a wider fit or if these shoes really ARE much less comfortable and cheapened down from prior models. Buyer beware. I do not think this is the same shoe.

Beware - the Brooks shoes that I've purchased are not the quality product they used to be. Over the past five or six years I've exclusively worn the Addiction Walker, a great supportive shoe. I purchased a pair early this year and was extremely disappointed, they were terrible quality, not supportive. I switched to the Beast 20 hoping that a more expensive shoe would be supportive etc. I've had them a few weeks and I'm sad to report they are horrible, not supportive at all. What has happened to Brooks? Looking for a quality shoe to purchase, any ideas?

$173 after tax and the darn things hurt worse than my year old New Balances. Don't know who designed the arch support but last time I checked my arch is in the middle of my foot - this extends up under the ball of my foot and makes it want to to supinate, which is exactly what these were recommended for preventing. Tried one size down, no dice, too small, and no half size between that and what I got (13, 4ee). No thank you.

I have a request. Is it possible to make wider shoe for the next generation beast?? I need wider shoes. I have feet problem, bunion, my fore feet is wider, my little fingers is bent off side. Is it possible to make a wider width, wider than 4E. (may be 6E or more ??). I already use beast (4E) for 2 generations (best14, beast16), now beast 20. I have to go up 2 size or more to get wider space. I use beast as my normal walking shoes, for working.

Bought these for my son whom is severely overweight and up until now has been sedentary. He started working cleaning movie theaters and his feet hurt every day to the point I was worried he would quit his job and give up. These have provided so much relief to him! They fit well, look stylish, and he prefers to wear these over his other shoes. Thank you, Brooks, for the Beast '20!

You have re designed it so it has no more over pronation correction, it is unwearable for me
