Although comfortable, this pair of sneakers are already falling apart. Poor quality or workmanship. I bought after being recommended by a friend, but regret the purchase. Back to Nike!

I've been wearing Beast since they first came out, years of military have done damage to my knees and feet and they were the best.... but... I felt that in the last few years Beast have seriously gone down in quality and ability to help and 2020 version I felt is the worst yet.

don't like it. this is my 4-5th pair of Beasts and the first one that doesn't live up to the name or provide the support I came here for. why do you have to mess with something that works? you're jerking around with a loyal customer base for what? to pick up a few stragglers who don't really know what they want? fix what you broke and give us back the shoe that deserves to be called the Beast. sell this lot to a local rowing team.

I've purchased multiple pairs of the Beast over the years from Zappos: same size and width every time with never a problem. This new 2020 model is definitely more narrow and is no longer comfortable so I must return. I am sorry to leave this brand.

The toe has a defect, causing the material to hang down. My toe catches on it as I walk. Perhaps Brooks' quality control needs improvement.

Looks good but honestly should have kept the old design I'm a bigger guy and these soles where to soft and allowed to much flex and didn't look near the quality as previous years!! I was really disappointed and that is why I have since returned them! Please go back to the old style or make some durable shoes for big guys again please!

I honestly expected a better support than the Beast 18 or 16. Not worth the price.

I have been wearing Brooks Beasts since 2010 and my last version I own are the 16's. With the release of the 18's I was very disappointed. Brooks didn't even change the mid-sole? Now Brooks is taking a different approach with Motion Control. In lieu of a firmer medial side mid-sole, they have included these 'guide-rails' as is the case on several other Brooks models. The 20's do fell a bit different than my 16's and they are still quite firm in the cushioning dept. Upper is better than the 16 & 18's, however the support is pretty weak and the color choices are the exact same as the 18's? The Beast designers must be pretty low on the totem pole at Brooks because it seems not much effort was put into the design of these. Kind of like the 18's. Brooks designers, if you're listening: You don't have to try and re-invent the wheel with this shoe. You used to have a very loyal following. But now, who knows?

Very disappointed. Heels have no support in the foam. Difficult to put on as heels collapse and must be tugged up to put on the shoe. Almost appear to be defective. Not what I expected. Other Brooks shoes have been good.

If I could give the Beast 20 zero stars, I would. It's not the Beast anymore. It should be called something else. This shoe is no better than an Adrenaline now that the medial post has been replaced by guide rails. Guide rails destroy my feet in every shoe that has them. I've ran in Beasts for almost 2 decades, but no more. I've tried running with other shoes over the years, but have always come back to the ole reliable. Not anymore. Brooks, I know guide rails are hip for sales, but they're not anywhere near as functional. Please, do the right thing and bring back the medial post in the Beast. You've ruined running for me without it.

So extremely disappointed in the very LOW quality of Brooks running shoes. Three generations ago these shoes were made with the highest quality and would last for at least a year. I just bought these shoes 7 months ago and the material on top is coming apart. So sad to see that Brooks no longer cares about the quality of their product.

Compared to what the Beast used to be, the 20 Beast should not be sold under that name. I've worn the Beast for 12 years. They were the best structured shoe anywhere. The 18 Beast and earlier had a highly supportive heal cup and a double-ply medial ankle support. That is all gone. The 20 B has what today they market as 'guiderails'. The shoe is now squishy, soft everywhere, and unsupportive--my ankles ache in they after 20 min utes. It was a mistake to redesign it so poorly and still call it the Beast. Brook's offered to exchange for another shoe but they no longer make one that works for me.

I've worn the Beast for many years and ran pain-free 500 miles per pair. I noticed a decline with the '16. The '18 was a disaster: immediate problems with fit, stability, and support that resulted in foot and knee problems. Now they're an even worse fit, not at all stable, and they just don't last. The guys at the running store where I buy shoes said they've had so many complaints about the latest models of the Beast that they refuse to stock them anymore. I called an online store and they strongly suggested I try another shoe.

The Beast continues to decline in quality and comfort. I’ve been a big fan for the last 15 years, loving the comfort and fit to help overpronation. Thisnn be latest model feels “cheap” and is about as comfortable as a WalMart brand shoe. I’m reluctant to try another Brooks product for the same fear. Brooks, get your act together and concentrate on comfort , rather than profit

The new Beast is terrible. The old beast had inner support on the heal and much more arch as well as more padding under the foot. The old design was cushier to walk in but slightly heavier and just a really tough and comfortable shoe. It was an excellent shoe for construction work or electricians for all day comfort. The 20 Beast is a light weight running shoe. Minimal arch support and a bit flimsy. The pair I tried on got a crease over my big toe and was defective in 4 days. I am sending all 3 pairs back. I am a solar electrician and really enjoyed the old Beast version. Wish Brooks kept the old version.

Bring back the old Beast stability. Shoes are critically important for me to remain pain-free (back and legs). For 15 years at least, I've made sure to buy the most stable shoes; New Balance 990s, then the 2040 lineup - before finding the Beast a few years ago. They were amazing. They lasted significantly longer than my 2040s (which died like clockwork every 3 months), were a great price, good weight, and a good design. Sadly that is gone with the Beast 20. I felt pain in my back, and tightness in my legs immediately when putting them on. For some this may not be as noticeable, for me unfortunately it is. The stability is critical. I'm going to the store today to get NBs again. That said, I do really like the design of the new shoe (the black covering). My ideal shoe would be the Beast 18 stability technology, with the Beast 20 covering design. Please Brooks, revert back to the heritage and stability of the Beast lineup. It had really been a game-changer for me. - Dan

My girlfriend recommended me to buy this buy. I stand and work all day so I was expecting it to give comfort to my feet but after using them for a week these shoes are one of the uncomfortable shoes I ever bought. The sole of the shoe feels very hard and is not comfortable at all especially the price that you are paying for it.

Love Brooks shoes. I have ~6 pairs of various models I wear regularly. Love these shoes. I wear them 5 days a week x 8-9 hours a day, 95% indoors. About 5-6,000 steps a day. I just returned my 2nd pair of Beast 20's for the same defect. After 2 1/2 months both pairs started developing a hole in the fabric of the top toe section of the right shoe. Please reinforce this area! I really want to buy them again! Thanks!

Dump the Beast! I have worn the Brooks Beast for years and had them in every color, but this is half the shoe of the Brooks Beast 18. No support and they completely ditched the inside "roll bar" sturdiness that the 18 had. Very disappointing and looks like a need to find a new running shoe.

I have used the beast for 10 years, and loved them. Never had an issue. Loved the support. I immediately felt the difference putting on these shoes. It was like my feet were missing something. (hint: the support) Now i will have to try to find another shoe to run in. Thanks Brooks.

Brooks changed this shoe. It is now a horrible shoe; poor workmanship, poor quality materials, cheap cotton laces, poor lateral support. The price is the same and the shoe is not worth the price! This is my 5th and last pair!
I'd also recommend:
Sketchers are now superior at half the price

Lots of miles on the Beast 18, but the Beast 20 was a huge disappointment. Lacked the expected support and felt worn out straight out of the box.

I agree with many of the other poor reviews on the Beast 20. I've worn Beasts for over 20 years as my primary running shoe. I pronate and buy the shoe for maximum support, and the 20 just doesn't provide it. In addition, the toe box feels tighter than prior models. I've read your standard response about the re-design, but why not just create a new model rather than adjust the model that has worked so well so long for so many people.
