I have been buying the beast for the past ten years. Every spring i would treat myself to a new pair. They offered tremendous support as my heels roll outward over the soles and this shoe did a great job supporting my feet and keeping things in line. Now, the beast 20 came along and there is noticeably less support around the back of the shoe and it is collapsing as i put my foot in it, yes I untie my shoes every time. Additionally the toe is covered with a much less durable fabric and the toe area is so freued and torn up, it looks like a little kid that drags his toes to stop his bike. Bring back the beast 18 and demote the engineer that takes responsibility for the cost cutting measures that took place.

Comfortable shoes with a supportive insole my ideal combination. Wish you made tennis sneakers. Anybody make a tennnis show with the Brooks fit & support?

Look nice, fit good. The shoe is very light. Feels cheaply made. Terrible cushioning and support. Bring back the Beast 18.

Has been my go to shoe for maybe the last 20 years. The most comfortable shoe for so serious walking. For teachers on the go with elementary school children. On vacations with lots of walking trips.

The beast 20 are sub standard to the beast 18. the back of the heel folds over and the shoe breaks down to fast

I've been a long-time Brooks enthusiast but the Beast was a let-down. I ordered my usual size but the shoe felt small and narrow. Also, compared to my other Brooks shoes, these are a bit too clunky to be good for running. (I guess the name "Beast" should have been a tip-off.) However, this is definitely a good looking shoe. Maybe order a half-size up and get the wider width for a comfortable (but pricey) walking shoe.

I like the Beast 20. But I personally think the 18's were super. Wish Brooks would integrate the two into one super shoe. But overall a good shoe.

My pediatrist recommended this style of shoe for me to wear when I walk. He chose these because they have extra support and also because they were available in Wide Widths, I chose (EEEE) and they are so comfy and really good looking. No complaints, but I would suggest non-elastic shoe strings. Otherwise these shoes get a FIVE STAR rating!

Great shoe once you get it on. Sometimes when the laces are not fully loosened and you try to step into the shoe, the very back collapses half-way down the back. I solved this by purchasing flexible laces with a plastic lock. So no more tying... and the elastic provides enough "give" that you can slip in the shoe without collapsing the back.

I have worn Brooks shoes for a number of years. I do NOT run any more, so I am always looking for a good walking/casual shoe. I also own and wear Addiction Walkers, which are still very good. However, the Beast 20's are by far the best and most supportive walking shoes I have ever worn. There is ample room in the toe box area (I wear a size 11 Extra Wide), and the shoe materials are flexible and breathable. I have been wearing the Beast 20's for a couple of months now and my feet feel really great. I have actually ordered a couple more pair to continue this experience even if the next model is not as perfect for me.

Best shoe ive worn, i have all 3 colors. I highly recommend them to people with plantar fascitis

I need a very sturdy / supportive running shoe. The Beast is the best one I have found. I am on my 3rd pair. I've tried other brands but this one works best for me.

My size was in stock and came promptly by mail - free shipping. The only reason for 4 stars is that they charged sales tax. I wouldn't have to pay this if I bought it a store in MA, as footwear is not taxed. BEWARE if SCAM sites that look really authentic and offer Brooks shoes at a much lower price!

Hubby is not a runner, but needs a good stable shoe. He is in heaven and rarely takes his new shoes off because it helps his back and legs so much!

My husband is 80 yrs old and bought the Beast on the advice of his foot dr. He has bunions which are very painful without the proper shoes. The Beast has made it possible to walk without pain. However the Brooks Beast shoe he bought is no longer available in his size 9 4E. Hopefully Brooks will continue to manufacture this shoe for the sake of those suffering from bunions.

I have very flat feet and other foot issues and The Beast is the only shoe that I find gives me the comfort and support I need.
