I am usually not impressed enough with running shoes to do a review, but I am going to make an exception with these. I do mostly power walking with run intervals, and it is rare to find a running shoe that is good for both. I'm 63 and as I am getting older, my hips and knees are feeling it more, so I decided to give these a try due to the stability features. Took them out of the box, slapped them on, and did a little over 5 miles of power walk/run intervals on very hilly paved paths. I was very impressed because I did not feel the hip/knee discomfort that I normally feel when doing this kind of workout. They seemed to guide me into a better form without making it feel like they where forcing me into a better form. The cushioning seems perfect for both walking and running. I hate shoes that are too cushy, and I hate shoes that are too bouncy, especially for power walking, because it makes my joints feel like they are fighting against the cushioning. These shoes feel perfect for power walking, and perfect for running too. Nice and firm, but at the same time, plenty of cushioning. Brooks... I don't know how you do the cushioning for these shoes, but "PLEASE"... "DO NOT"... "EVER" change it. I have only done one workout in them so far, but they impressed me so much that I wanted to write this review.

Buy half size up and a 2E version if you have flat and wide feet as me and you won't regret! I walk 3 miles everyday on these, they are super comfy! loads of support and cushion.

Shoes are normally a problem for me. I am 66 yo, female and wear a 14D. This is my second year with Brooks. I brought my new shoes with me to get orthopedic inserts due to stress fractures in my metatarsals. The doctor was openly praising the quality of the shoes I had chosen.

These shoes were recommended after a complete foot and running motion exam at the FBI Academy 19 years ago. Unequivocally, the best running shoes I've ever worn. Support and comfort exceptional. Makes running enjoyable!! If you have flat feet and over-pronate, this shoe is for you!!

The shoe is great, however, the price is too high. Brookes never puts the Beast on sale. All their other shoes are put on sale, however, there is never a sale on the Beast unless they are coming out with a new release and then there MAY be a sale. Why is that???

I had really bad issues with my feet hurting after a walknow my issues are nearly gone after wearing these shoes after several weeks! Complete game Changer

The Beast is a great shoe for the best support of your foot and is very comfortable.

Best running shoe for heavier persons with wide/extra wide feet. Wear a Beast 13 4E, since 2016.

I have Diabetic Charcot foot and Beast shoes at 4x wide make walking tolerable.

Very comfortable and well made shoes. The perfect size for my feet.

I always have a boxed new pair on hand in case they errantly decide to discontinue The Beast. Hope they don't. I am a big, fit feller and this has been the only shoe to fit my needs over the last 10 years.

First pair of Brooks I have tried, recommended by a friend, so far so good, very comfortable at least on par with the Hoka's a normally buy, we will see how they wear in comparison.
