I bought these for my husband. He tried the Moab version and this one at the same time. He preferred this one this time but he previously had the other one. Great all around shoe!

My husband likes it... color is a bit lighter.

Fit exactly the way it should.

I hiked 30+ miles through the Bighorn Craggs in these. The soles were sticky enough to keep me from slipping on boulders. No blisters the whole trip!

Well designed and great quality shoe but not my fit. The toe box was too pointed, even in the wide width. Do not buy these if your toes are squared off; this shoe would suit people with short 4th and 5th toes. What fit my "Flintstone feet" instead was the Merrell Moab 3 in wide.

With the exception of formal events, I wear Merrill Moab 2 hiking shoes and a Merril Arctic, exclusively. Because the price of that shoe and it's phasing out, it seems, the Moab 2 is hard to get, and the Moab 3 has exceeded my budget, I reluctantly wanted to try this model because it is less expensive. The overall fit and feel are good, but it is not like the Moab 2. Soon I will be out on the trails and will determines its sturdiness and life span.

Lightly used (I’m not hiking miles…just walking a dog…) and a hole wore through them in less than a year.

Comfortable shoe so far. The tongue ends to slid to the side because the loop that the laces go through should be one notch higher in my opinion.

The fit and size were perfect. The only issue I had was the sole at the heel wore through in about 6 months. I walk my dog 2x a day and each time for maybe 45 minutes. The terrain is either leisure trail, equistrian trail (DG) or sidewalk. Within 60 months the sole wore away to expose the softer layer underneath. I do still keep these shoes for working around the house I was disappointed that the sole wore through so quickly.

I really wanted to keep these shoes because they look great in terms of styling and build quality, but they are just too small. I wear a size 15, which is the largest size Merrell makes, and it feels about a half size too small. It's not the first time I've had this issue with Merrells. About every 4 or 5 years I try again, but alas they are always too small. In my size, Columbia and New Balance get the fit right for day hikers, but seems to fall a little short on styling compared to Merrell. Oh well. Better to have a comfortable fit than high style for this type of shoe. I'll try again in a few years.

You might want to get better insoles

I've only had these for a few days, but so far, so good. I was looking for a lighter hiker with treads that weren't as beefy as usual. The fit is perfect, with a nice toe box.

The size and fit were excellent. These are the best 'hiking' shoes I have had. The only downside...the sole at the heal wore out after 6 months. I am now through to the spongy support level in the sole. I only walk ~4 miles per day and on a mix of dirt road and sidewalks (no major hiking).

Great shoes for a good price -- much better than my typical sneakers, I've become a fan of Merrell's. One small, infuriating nitpick -- the top eye holes are too small for the laces. A tiny detail, and not a big deal, but that's a half hour of my life I'll never get back.

A pretty decent shoe... good support and cushioning. Felt a bit large and roomy in the toebox area though. I'd recommend taking a half-size smaller when purchasing.

A little small

The shoes fit well, important since my feet are wide and its hard to find well fitting shoes. They are a lot better than a certain outdoor clothing brand that advertises a lot but has rather poor quality products. Alas, the Merrells show quite some wear after only 6 months of use. We walk a lot, about 3 miles a day, and most of the time I wear the shoes (although I also wear my Chaco sandals which I love.. but I digress.) I guess the shoes have about 400-450 miles on them and they show wear in the sole as well as the foot bed. Since there's no way to fix them, it's throw away and buy a new pair - another one like it for 6 months? Not sure. I wish I could find some shoes that last longer. It's not the money - it's the landfill I hate adding to... Please, Merrell, these can be great shoes - can you make them last??

Hurts my foot. Worn it three times, same pain each time.

The support is just not there at all and my feet hurt continously, since I have fleet from birth, so it's better I get my credit back to my credit card. Thank You!!!!
