Do you need a cushioned daily trainer that is not squishy? Do you want a shoe that will last? Do you want a no-nonsense shoe that gets the job done? If the answer to any of these questions was yes, then this is would be a great shoe to add to your running collection if you have a need for a new shoe. While this shoe is not exciting in terms of design or technology, it more than makes up for it in the function of the shoe. It's utilitarian, like a jeep. If I were to use an ice cream analogy, it is less like rocky road and more like vanilla who doesn't like vanilla. I have run in a previous version of this shoe and it is very similar to the non-knit version, except I really like the knit upper. I put a lot of miles in this shoe on various surfaces and it performed well in all the different tests I put it through. It was comfortable on shorter runs, long runs and everything in between. I will be using this shoe for months to come. Pros Knit upper is stretchy and comfortable Good cushion that is not too squishy U4IC Cushion feels springy Rubber outsole provides good traction and adds to the overall durability Felt more stable than prior versions Built like a tank Cons Sizing is not like prior versions, go with your true foot size Plastic plate didn't seem to add to the ride Shoe felt like it was slapping against the pavement a bit Looks like a tank

I am 64 years old and do aerobices 5 days a week these shoes have stopped my back pain and knee pain .the size , I usually wear a 8.5 , but the size finder thing suggested I should order the 9. They are big but I need them so badly I didn't want to send them back. I tell everyone how comfortable they are.

Just got these, but it's love at first try. I was looking for a pair of shoes that support combination workouts (sometimes CrossFit, sometimes jogging up to a few miles). These offer great stability without being clunky. The fit is great for my feet.

good quality, nice color. the fit is just slightly small. I ordered my usual 9 1/2 and my toes are at the tip of the shoe. Very comfortable to walk or work in but not to run in. I am on my feet for ~ 10 hours/day at work and the sneakers feel great. I would try a 1/2 size up but think it would be too big.

Not as great as the Waveknit R2 but good. It doesn't grip my heel as well as the R2. It's still a comfortable run.

I need to upgrade out of my Wave Rider 16's and these are the latest ones I could find. I love EVERYTHING about them but they feel a lot lower than my older ones, too low. So returning sadly.

Too little vertical room in the toe box (big toe was brushing against the material).

The Mizuno Waveknit R3 is a great shoe. It has innovative technology, a wonderful mix of cushion and stability, great durability and a great look. It truly has everything a daily trainer needs but it's just too much. The weight and drop of this shoe, is so much that I really felt that my gait pattern began to change and my runs became more laborsome. I can however, see this shoe really working great for someone who is an occasional runner and would like to have one pair of sneakers to run, workout and wear casually. This may also be good for a heavier runner that likes to run at a slower pace. Overall, these R3s have a lot going for them and are great in many ways but sometimes less is more.

The footbeds are comfortable. I ordered the wide but they are too tight in the toe box. Also the laces are really short. I will be returning.

I have hallux rigidus. So, I am always in search of a shoe with a roomy toe box and firm lateral support . This shoe is super comfortable. I have now walked 15 miles in them. The good news is that they are very comfortable and cushy. However, the test for me is whether my big toe hurts....and it does....an expensive mistake in that I walk a lot and a sore big toe just is such a detractor. I hate buying shoes because I have more misses than success.

The shoe rubbed the top of my toes. I do not have a wide foot but felt this shoe ran too narrow.

Runs very small, needed a whole size larger than usual. Returning the shoe was a hassle and took forever to get the refund. Waveknit 2 was a much better shoe, the sole in the 3 is stiffer and harder on the feet... why change a great shoe to make it worse?

Mizuno's are the only shoes I've ever worn that leave me feeling great. Whether it be on my feet at a restaurant, moving my belongings up 5 flights of stairs in the blazing sun of Boston, or running casually for years on the same pair of shoes. They last and last and they feel like they are built for me. I bought these shoes a couple weeks ago for running/jogging/walking casually. Between 2-4 miles/day. I have the Wave Rider 22 and these shoes looked pretty similar but I really like the color and the reviews were good so I went for it. They fit beautifully, they look great, but I gotta say they don't have the umph that I feel when I wear the Wave Rider 22's. They feel a little too loosey goosey because of the laces and just overall not as solid as the other Wave Rider's I've tried. Next time (even though the colors are *thumbs down* I will go with the Wave Rider.

I unfortunately had to return these shoes. I normally wear a 10, but read the Waveknit R2 ran a little small; I purchased a 10.5 in the R2 and they fit perfect. I figured purchasing a 10.5 in the Waveknit 3, it would be similiar. The shoe was HUGE, and I had to go through the hassle of returning it. The returning was simple (meaning obtaining a return number and the instructions), however, you have to return your purchase, then Mizuno will refund you, then you have to purchase the item again; which is kind of a pain.

I love Mizuno. But by the end of the day, my hips were aching . I will go back to my tried and true Wave Horizon or Wave Sky.

This is my 3rd pair of Waveknits and they fit totally different. They seem more wide than normal, even in the standard size. I am not a fan.

Wave Riders the last three years are no longer a neutral shoe rather they are for supination and hurt my shins and knees. I hope each year they will return to a true neutral but not on the 23s. I have loved the Wave Rider 9, the 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, but after that I have had issues where they are too narrow even in a Wide, but buying a ½ larger size 9 made the lace assembly too long and that cut into the toes. The shoe sides keep rising and they rub my ankles. I returned the Wave Rider 23, and the Wave Ride 23 Waveknit 3D, and kept the Wave Sky Wave Knit 3D. The Wave Sky’s are neutral and the 8.5 W fit.
