This is a great small pack, but it is really large for a "small" pack. I could easily go into the woods for a day trip and have more than enough room for the items I want to take. With a little extra padding that could be added by the user, this is a great size for a point-and-shoot or bridge size camera (or a DSLR with one lens). I really like that the straps match the bag color but only one zipper (front pocket) matches. The top zipper is a lighter brown shade, close to the zipper pulls in color. The compression straps work very well to stabilize the items inside and there are webbing loops on each end to add a clip to attach extra items (like gloves). A 27 ounce Kleen Kanteen or a 32 ounce Nalgene will fit inside with room for more gear. The grab handle on the back is a nice touch in a waist/sling pack. The back panel is well padded. I would have preferred if the waist/shoulder strap were about 4 to 6 inches longer. All in all, a superb small pack that works as much larger than it appears.

Makes a perfect small diaper kit for my kiddos! Works so well, I had to get my wife one. Holds 5-8 pull ups, wipes, medicine and some snacks. Everything I need, nothing I don't. It's easy to overpack with kids, so smaller bag forces you to just take the essentials.

Love the size and durability. Smaller zippered pockets great for organizing. Fit my power bank, cords, slim insulated hydroflask and iPad pro for carry on. As well as smaller items like airpods, etc. Can carry as hip or cross-body comfortably

Size, quality, and color scheme are all top notch. Great purchase. Only thing I'd love to see is a slide stop included so it stays where you set the straps without aftermarket materials on it.

The pack is awesome. Wore it cross body through a 5 mile hike. Never once did I complain. Holds enough snacks for 6 people throughout the hike. Only critique would be more padding in the strap for those that wish to wear it cross body. Even as a hip belt, it could use padding. Maybe even lock strap adjusters where you lengthen and shorten the strap. Other than that, amazing. Would highly recommend.

This is the most spacious fanny pack I've yet to find. It's well-constructed, has a few nice storage compartments, and wears comfortably slung over the shoulder. A solid purchase for travel, fishing, or just day-to-day activities.

I don't have the full moon but do have the hip monkey that I really dig. It looks like the two are so similar, why would I buy the fm when they are about the same with the hm being slightly larger? not quite under a fm spell

I use the Full Moon pack daily for farm work and it has held up well. It is comfortable to wear as a sling bag or hip pack all day. Would highly reccomend.

Durable, well constructed, and they expand to be quite spacious without being bulky. I use one to keep my fly fishing gear in, and another for mountain biking.

As is always the case, I am very happy with this product, its size and its functionality. Over what is now many years, I have been the proud owner of Mystery Ranch products, as well as a few earlier items produced by Dana and Renee and their outstanding crew. They never disappoint and they will likely last longer than I will - and I plan on hanging around a while longer.

Everything feels well build secure zippers and straps. Nice internal pocket and backing in the bag to give some stability. Thought the Hip Monkey would be too big, and the Forager too small. This lands in the middle but still bigger than I thought. Used to carry Pelican Rukus 20 case with plenty room to spare.

I'm a big fan of fanny packs for ultralight or tree stand hunting. I've tried many brands and this is the last one I'll ever need. Side compression makes it hold absolutely anything nice and snug.

I also have the hip monkey and that bag has sooooo much capacity. The full moon on the other hand has slightly smaller, but don't let that fool you. I can fit just about the same amount of gear in the full moon as I do the monkey, but it feels way more compact. No need to say this if you already own and MR gear, but the quality is top notch.

this is good for extra storage for day trips or for a few items on a quick hike. I would not buy this if you are looking to use for concealed carry. The main large compartment is the only spot big enough for a decent size pistol. In my opinion, it should have a third zipper compartment behind the main compartment as it feels like too much room. but, otherwise the quality is good and the bag is comfortable as a hip pack.

This pack is simple and just the right size. I've had other packs with lots of features and capacity but they all seemed to be to large or had special features like water bottles holders that I just didn't use. You don't have to use all the capacity of a large waist pack but then it just seems to sag down but you butt. This one is well made and just the right size and a minimum of specialized features.

I got a Hip Monkey and I love it, but it's a bit too big for most days. (I primarily use it for mountain biking.) Got this thinking it would be smaller... it is. But not by as much as I was expecting. The cinch straps on the side make it better for compressing the load down with does help the situation (something the HM is not as good at). And based on dimensions, I'm certain the Forager would be too small. Would be nice if MR made a hip pack in-between with a 1 1/2" buckle. The 2" buckle can be uncomfortable at times on a bike because of the way the body bends forward.

I use this to hold my stethoscope and other gear I want to be immediately available when I work on an ambulance. It works well for this, but it's actually bigger than I need it to be, while the next size down (hip forager) isn't big enough. In my opinion, there should be a size between these two, that has a technical org panel for pens and the like. Pros: plenty of room, secure, good compression straps. Cons: when you take it off, the waist belt doesn't stay in the adjusted position. This means it needs to be readjusted every time you put it on. Weird for a MR product. There are also no strap keepers, so it looks kind of messy. Also super weird for MR.
