I bought this pack for my stepson after loving the one I got for myself upon finding he was looking for a new small hiking pack. First, he loved the color scheme, second, he REALLY liked the tri-zip design and overall feel of the pack size. Exactly what he was hoping for. Strongly recommend these packs!

Love the pack bit wish the shoulder straps had a bit of padding and maybe a bit more width.

I've been using this for beach outing and biking around town. It's nice little pack with usual 3 zip design. I can roll up and shove in my car or bigger rolling bag until I need it. It's not for heavy load for sure, so don't expect this to be like bigger cousin 3DAP.

I purchased this bag for short hikes to carry the 13 essentials and a fleece pullover if needed. The bag is light in weight and relatively small but it's my favorite among two other larger backpacks that I own. I recommend this pack but wouldn't overload it because it isn't designed to carry too much. I am very satisfied with Gallagator.

Bought this for a very specific use: airport travel and a week trip to Disney. Absolutely perfect size and features for my intended use!

Returned it. The sternum strap attachment device has a new design. I prefer the older, more "primitive", all-plastic pieces which connect the shoulder straps to each other via a simple side-release buckle on the sternum strap. The newer design incorporates tiny bungee cords, small metal armatures/levers which raise and lower into place, which still slide up and down the flat nylon webbing which face each slimly-padded shoulder strap, even though I believe they're supposed to lock the sternum strap into place. Even when "locked", the sternum strap still slides up and down. Much ado about nothing. Net change for the better: nil. Other considerations: really thin, insufficiently-padded shoulder straps. The two horizontal cinch straps are a plus, not only to consolidate the load, but the upper one can help anchor water bottles in the side mesh pockets by threading the strap through the bottles' cap loops (I use Nalgene OTF's) so they won't fall out if you, say, bend over while wearing the pack. The Y-opening is ingenious. Now if only MR would price this little pack more reasonably as well as incorporate the changes cited above, we'll be in business...

I ended up buying 2 of these. I recently used one on a ‘Mammoth March’ in East TN, for 20 miles. It was comfortable, and did not pull on my shoulders or back. It stayed in place, held quite a bit of stuff, and worked well. I added the ‘wingman’ accessory for the phone and it was a perfect setup.

I've been looking for a long time for a versatile bag that works for everything- go bag, day pack for hiking, bag for beach day, etc. This checks all of the boxes and has MR build quality. I'll be buying a couple more.

This is the second Gallagator we bought this year my son got one last summer and he loves it so much that I wanted one too. The easy zip access and outside pockets for water bottles are our favorite features.

Had this for a few months now and traveled quite extensively with it. The material stretches a fair amount allowing you to get away with overstuffing the bag to an extent. I normally use it as an urban / light duty hike pack and my carry on personal item. Fits under the seat well but has just enough volume in the top lid to hold charger, earbuds, passport, pen, etc plus some extras, and the tri zip is 100% the best thing in pack design to ever happen. Easily access your top layer from the lid zip, or grab something from the bottom with the vertical zipper. I'm planning to add a Coulee 30 as a longer duration carry on as well.

I've got a few different MR packs, all larger than than the Galligator, that I use for white tail hunting but I wanted something smaller to use as an EDC bag and MR came through once again. It's not heavy on storage compartments but an EDC pack doesn't need to be. The patented 3-way main zip is the best on the market. The tough zippers make it easy to just rip open without fear of damage. The lid pouch is huge, as is the case with all their lid pouches. Built tough and durable, as always. The only things I wish it had is another exterior water bottle pocket and an opening near the shoulder strap to feed a hydration bladder straw through. I'll probably cut an opening and have it stitched. There is a pouch and hanger inside to hang a hydration bladder. MR is the ONLY brand that I buy when it comes to quality back packs. Made in the good ole US of A. Buy with confidence!

Absolutely loved this bag due to its style and size. Was perfectly inconspicuous and had enough room to carry my required work load out.

This has become my go to bag for day hiking this past year. Well-built but still light weight. This bag is also great as a general use bag, and I regularly use it as a carry on. I would like to see more color options.

I love the accessibility with the split zippers. The fit is light and very comfortable. Side pockets work great with my water bottles. Really nice color also.

Terrific pack, great for day hikes and as a carryon for air travel. Hip belt is not load bearing as much as keeps the pack from bouncing around. Recommended improvements would be a) including a means to strap on trekking poles, and b) including velcro for morale patches. Great value, great size, great quality.

I bought the bag a month ago and it satesfies all of my hiking needs for a light day hike. But you have to remember that it is an EDC type backpack so u cant expect the same as you would expect from a 3DAP.

I originally bought his because I wanted a pack with compression straps to keep my climbing sticks and saddle hunting platform, but it's not quite made for that. However I decided to keep it because it is well built for my scouting trips when I'm not carrying as much. Very comfortable. Can walk around with a full pack all day.

Recently bought and used this pack for an international trip. It was an excellent bag to use on a plane, and once in country it was great as a day pack.

I used my new bag on a week trip to Oklahoma, plenty of hiking, morning fishing, camping in general. Holds a ton of stuff, I love the way it opens, makes things accessible without having to completely open your pack. For its size it holds full size insulated bottles which is impressive. My last day of fishing I got rained on and it beaded up really well. Must buy for an awesome daypack

I got this to replace a tacticool 22 litre pack that died. Sure wish I had gotten this sooner. Perfect size for a day pack for going light. Room for my ten essentials, 2 ham radios and water, snacks, shell without being over stuffed.

Haven't been able to use it much so far. Got it for travel/carry-on. Pink and orange color set is awesome.
