We love these shoes! They have become the everyday favorite for my 2.5 (almost 3) year old. She wears them to daycare, and they are perfect for all-day wear in the fall/winter months. They have good traction for walking & hiking on dirt trails, and the slightly higher ankle keeps out the dust and rocks. These do seem pretty wide and large for the size. This may be intentional since the barefoot style allows for flexibility and for the toes to spread out. I love this, especially for shoes she wears all day at school. They are lightweight, very easy on/off and the retro styling is adorable. These are absolutely worth the investment! We will likely get a full year of wear out of them.

My little girl wore these out on our trip to Montana (and then when we got home) and we all LOVED them. No complaints! They are functional and so adorable. I now need to order a bigger size for this summer!

We love these hikers! From the very first use, my daughter has LOVED wearing them. They take seconds to put on. She gets so many compliments on them, too.

These shoes are perfect for my toddler. He can't keep shoes on his feet with how active he is, but these stay on! They're solid shoes that he wears to daycare all day. We will definitely continue to buy these as he grows.

Daughter loves them, perfect for family hikes and you can't beat the price. We sized up so they can be worn longer and they are still snug and comfortable.

This is the second year I've bought these and I will keep buying each year. They are the only shoes that work for his wide feet. The sole is sturdy and flexible - perfect for climbing and exploring. The only downside is the Velcro. It stopped working after less than 3 months of wear but I filled out the form and Merrell sent us a new pair! With a company that stands by their product like that, I am a loyal customer. I do think it's important to note that this shoe protects his feet from getting wet while walking briefly in the rain but is not actually waterproof. Stepping in a puddle will yield a wet foot.

I love them for my two-year-old because they fit his thick foot (got the wide), clean up really nice, secure well, and the color is perfect. Initially, we got a 7.5 which was too big.. then had a 6.5 sent essentially overnight before we left on a trip, thanks Merrell. This shoe is easy to slide on and has been durable for 5 months. We kept the 7.5 and just got it out of the drawer today!

Great show for my 16 month old. They're easy to put on and roomy (I bought the wide). Best of all they keep his feet DRY!

I love Merrell! I wear them myself. I bought these boots for my daughter,I had to send back the 7 to get a 1/2 size larger only because I wasn't so sure of her size. These are also perfect for tiny feet. We ordered MEDIUM width. Other brands are still too wide when I order Medium. I am about to order another pair boots for her in another color because they fit so well!

I ordered this shoes to my son who has really wide feet. I was looking for something which is similar to a first walking shoes. He is only one and a half year old and goes with size 8. The sole is really soft and the back part keeps his ankle. This is a great shoes, I hope there will be bigger sizes in this barefoot model. I would like to buy those in the future.

We bought the blue and green little kid bear steps and they are awesome, my 20 month grandson loves them. He has not complained or tired to take off this shoe. We definitely will buy another pair!

Very comfortable, easy to put on. Will be a good shoe for colder months. Hard to find shoe that fit my requirement of style and comfort and this one did it.

My son loves these shoes. He says they are comfortable and he likes the look (he loves the color red but says "blue is nice, too". Bonus: he can put them on easily by himself!

I have a picky, really picky 4y.o. it's hard to find shoes for her, and she loves her shoes, she said that she can run faster on them.

My two year old son is very hard on his shoes and literally runs everywhere. These have held up great after 5 months and are so easy to get on him. I like that they are a bit taller as it helps prevent sand and rocks from getting in.

My son LOVES these, wants to wear these over his Spider-Man light up shoes (haha). Not bulky for clumsy little ones, easy to put on and water resistant! Win win WIN! Great hiker for kids.

These shoes are perfect for my 2 year old. They've held up to hard use and the water resistance is awesome for occasional puddle stomping. We've been using them as his everyday shoes for the past 4 months and they still look new. I don't know if his feet are unusually wide but other shoes have been too narrow - but we don't have that problem with these shoes. They are also very easy to get on and off. I just ordered the shoe again in the next size up. I'd love to see more color options.

The size is right on. The shoe opens so he can easily get his foot in without struggling. The single velcro closure holds his foot in place nicely. I am very pleased with the shoes. They look good. He has such a good time getting out in the woods and going for walks, It's always an adventure and the shoes are a big part of that for him.

I saw an ad for these on IG maybe FB.. but we got them and my daughter loves them. I personally can't say how they fit and feel because she's only 3 so what does she know. But she seems to enjoy them, they're pretty easy to put on as well, and seem plenty durable. Time will tell but I'd expect them to last until she grows out of them for sure.
