My 13 month old is a new walker and these have been great for varied terrain, protecting her little feet, plus giving her ankle support and confidence in walking. Will probably continue to buy as she grows.

Easy to get on and off and very fly. My 18 month old's favorites. We've taken these on road and off, holding up very well and will likely more as he outgrows them.

These are the absolute best kids hiking/ adventure boots I have found. Appropriate for a new walker or older kid too. Just enough structure to protect but not so much the foot is stifled. Comes up around the ankle to keep sticks/rocks/grasses from getting in. The outsole is super grippy and great for climbing on rocks. My little one loves that they look like "workbooks". I went back to order the next size up but sadly looks like these are discontinued. Merrell please bring them back! The low ankles don't work as well for hiking and field work.

My son has had Merell bare steps since he could walk. This would make his 6th pair and he is 5 now. We like the hiking boot, we are outdoors a lot. I hope they never stop making bare steps for toddlers. When he gets older, vapor/trail glove all the way, like mommy and daddy.

Great sturdy shoe for my active two-year-old twins. They stay on, seem comfortable, and have held up well. We wear them mostly for play in the yard and short hikes.

We absolutely love these shoes so far! The toes and tread stand up to our busy little man. After everyday wear and a few hikes they still look brand new. Already bought the next size because we love our Merrells!

These are great toddler shoes! My son loves them and he is a wild animal so I appreciate how sturdy they are.

Such a roomy toe box for little ones toes to spread out! Great fit. True to size. Super well made. Definitely recommend.

My 4.5 year old son likes these and has worn them several times in the month we've had them. I can't speak to the waterproof aspect (it's been dry) but these are holding up well as outdoor shoes at his very active camp

This shoe is great. My 2 year old hikes, rides her strider, climbs rocks, and this shoe holds up to it all!

I bought this pair of shoes twice for my son and he absolutely loves them! It's wide and very durable. My son goes to a Nature school and is always climbing and running and he never once complained about his feet hurting. Too bad they don't make it bigger than size 10 because I'd definitely keep on buying them.

I bought it for my 2.5 y/o son and hes been using it almost daily for 6 months now. Its been through mud, rocks, everything and i love that he can run with them on comfortably without it marking his feet. The extra traction really helps too and is pretty grippy. Just wish it was machine washable but fairly easy to clean otherwise

These shoes are super easy to put on and stylish. Went hiking in Death Valley and my son had no problem walking around on rough terrain, rocks etc.

I wish they made these in Big Kid sizes. They are so durable, and perfect for wide toddler feet. Supportive, and easy on. We love Merrell shoes, they are the only brand of shoes our kids wear.

Hoping we get these in different colors, and available in big kid I just love the look, feel, and comfort. Wide toe, minimal sole. Allows for natural foot growth and movement patterns.

I love these. They fit my son perfectly. It took some getting used to because of the high ankle support but now he is cruising in them. They stay on and protect his little feet. I love that they are wide toe box and low profile sole so his feet have room to grow and not be misshapen.

We bought these over a year ago for our toddler, he wears them almost everyday and they're still in good enough shape to pass onto little brother! A bit pricey up front but considering he wore them all year and can be passed on they're actually more affordable than multiple cheap pairs. Great for everyday but have great traction for actual hikes. Would definitely buy the next size up but they're sold out.

We love these shoes! They have become the everyday favorite for my 2.5 (almost 3) year old. She wears them to daycare, and they are perfect for all-day wear in the fall/winter months. They have good traction for walking & hiking on dirt trails, and the slightly higher ankle keeps out the dust and rocks. These do seem pretty wide and large for the size. This may be intentional since the barefoot style allows for flexibility and for the toes to spread out. I love this, especially for shoes she wears all day at school. They are lightweight, very easy on/off and the retro styling is adorable. These are absolutely worth the investment! We will likely get a full year of wear out of them.

My little girl wore these out on our trip to Montana (and then when we got home) and we all LOVED them. No complaints! They are functional and so adorable. I now need to order a bigger size for this summer!
