I really love my Uggs but wanted something a little more fashionable for cold weather. These were too tight around my calves--I'm bummed because I love the option to roll the top down. There wasn't a whole lot of shearling lining and the heel is completely devoid of it. I ended up getting the Frye Veronica mid (still has the same shearling issue)

Frye is always worth it! Desperately needed a tall winter boot that was warm and had some traction on the sole and these fit the bill. At 5'8" these cover my knees if I don't fold them down to show the shearling. They fit true to size and are warm and comfortable.

These boot could have been great but the inside zipper and leather around ankle area of boot is bunched up and wrinkle which cause zipper not to work and ankle are bend into ankle which hurts . Also came in plain cardboard box. Where was the frye box?

Love the look and i would purchase, even thought are pricey! I own about 7 pairs of Frye boots and sneakers, love the brand! However, I have skinny legs and need narrow shaft. does anyone knows what's the shaft width?

I have these in the over the knee style as well as the short. Wonderfully warm. They do run wide. I am waiting for the OTK version to return so I can purchase a pair for my daughter.

I love the color and fit. I normally wear a 7M but I chose to get a 7.5M. Glad I went up a half size. Your toes will be nice and warm. Very comfortable!

I bought these for cold wet northwest weather. The leather is thick and durable. The shearling lining is dense and very high quality. I have a very high instep and normally wear a 7-7.5. Based on reviews, I bought a 7.5. I wore them all day the first day. They are very comfortable and warm. I'm guessing they will get softer with wear. I'll be wearing these a long time!!

My First FRYE Boots was in 1967 just the craze in school light tan leather with double green stitching. In the past 5 years I have been visiting the store in The Village in NYC and I always come out with a new pair of FRYEs. I adore their shearling tall boots I now have three and if there is another design next year I am first up to the mark to purchase same, SO SO COMFY, SO SO WARMY, SO SO SCRUMMY ;-)

These are the best boots ever made! I know this because I own 9 pairs of Frye boots and a few other brands. Unbelievably soft and warm-fully shearling lined. I don't wear socks with these; no need to. They need to be worn about one week to "break in" and soften the fit around the calf; the fit will be perfect!! Can't say enough good things about this boot!!

Like the lady said before me. I wore skinny jeans but not skinny enuff. All that shearling still scrunched the pant legs & marked my legs up. I think this prevented the zipper from pulling up nicely. I wear a size 9 and ended up wearing no socks to put on. Feet were warm in the snow. As an older person I have to twist the boot down at the ankle to wrangle my feet into the foot area. Then to get my boot off! Oh boy. Maybe my legs swell but I didn't think I was gonna get them off! Should I return for a 9.5 ?? Frye! I think another great boot style would be to have a backside zipper the length of the boot! Forget that ankle zipper. That's just annoying. This is only 1 day of wearing. I hope to write further updates. This is my 1st pair of Fryes so I hope my INVESTMENT will be worth the $$$$ I FORKED OUT FOR THESE.

These boots are incredibly high quality. They have a great inner lining, although it may be too much for year-round around wear. The styling isn’t terrifically inspired, but that really wasn’t a driving force in buying them. I was looking for a nice professional looking boot to wear to work. Ultimately I returned these, not because of a failing with the boots, but because the shaft was so high. I have been on the hunt for boots for so long that I decided to take a chance. The shaft was ultimately way too high. I’m 5’4”. If you’re taller or want to a true knee high boot and you wear them in the fall or winter these could be an excellent choice.

First, let me start off saying I'm 6'1, and I wear 11/12. Frye boots typical runs small, and the largest size they carry is an 11. Although, Frye collaborated with Nordstroms one year and offered a size 11 in select boots. The size 12 was a tad narrow, so I needed to break the boots in by using the plastic bag method. Fast forward, what I love about the boots: the shearling on the inside of the boot "so cozy". I purchased the Black boots size 11M. I was skeptical of being able to slide my feet in such a tall boot because I have wide feet and large calves. I used the plastic bag method, and my feet slid right in. The boots are wider than the typical Frye boot. Also, the boots actually come above my knee! This is unheard of in the tall girl arena. As I slid my foot out of the boot, I examined the boot's infrastructure, and I was surprised the boot quality doesn't match the retail price of the boot. The sewing was off, and the internal stitching surrounding the knee area was poorly finished: the knot used to finish a stitch was visible. The soles looked poorly structured. I'm confused as to how the boot passed quality control inspection. I own tons of Frye bags and boots, I was so shocked to see poor quality in such a pretty boot. Luckily, I scored these boots at a reasonable price when Frye had an amazing sale. Which is the reason I'm undecided whether I want to return the boots.

I wanted to love these. Just too bulky for me. Great leather and craftsmanship, would be so warm fir winter, but height w/out fold over too high, and the fold-over fur top too large, couldn't make them work for me. Would love same boots lined, waterproof, w/out fold-over. Had to return.

...but ultimately, I had to return. These boots are made of beautiful leather with warm shearling, but the shaft is unreasonably high (and that's saying a lot - I'm over 6 feet tall, and even I felt awakward), the calf is painfully tight, and because of the inner zipper location and length, they are difficult to put on. Plus, for as much money as these boots were, I didn't ever see myself getting the wear out of them that I would need to justify paying for them. In theory, the waterproofing and warmth are nice, but in practice, they just make these expensive boots less versitle. I'm sad that they didn't work out, but I'd much rather put that kind of money towards a boot that fits correctly, comfortably, and is can be a closet staple. This boot just can't do those things.

I have never needed a "wide calf" boot. These, however were skin tight on the calf. In addition, the zipper was very uncomfortable. It runs right over the ankle bone with a narrow strip of leather behind it. Had to return them.
