Was so excited to see what the Frye hype has been all about, and I'm greatly disappointed. These are a very stiff boot in the foot and ankle, but the calf is really soft and flexible. The leather is of pristine quality, as well as the build of the boot. The zipper was awfully sticky though and did not zip smoothly. There is absolutely ZERO cushion in these, so if you are looking for comfort, look somewhere else because these look great but don't feel great. I am a true size 8 in boots, and I tried both the regular and extended calf--the extended calf was comfortable in the calf but left the ankle extremely baggy and large, and the regular size I was barely able to zip them over my calves leaving them extremely tight. Can't win!

These were almost perfect. Larger shaft than my other Frye boots, including another Melissa! Not sure why.

I’ve had my eye in these boots for a long time and even missed the sale price with my indecision. I decided to take the plunge and splurge for my bday so I got them in extended due to reviews stating they are tight. Well, they don’t lie. These are so small I couldn’t zip them past my ankles! If they hadn’t had the extended tag attached, I’d have thought they sent the wrong ones. The color is more reddish in person, but the leather and overall look of the boots in beautiful. If you have skinny calves, these would be perfect for you.
